Something that doesn't sound to bad at all actually. Making the world of anime a safer place,by destroying one shitty dub at a time.
*Sigh*
As much as I like the thought of eliminating all the horrible companies which bastardise the artistic talents of professionals or even the Amateur companies, it just does not work that way.
I believe that the main problem is censorship laws in America due to parental irresponsibility. Chances are that 4kids are trying to minimise the amount of angry hate-mail from overprotective parents who do not want their kids seeing guns and sharp objects on their TV screens (incidently, said parents entrust their TV Sets to raise their children, even).
If parents started acting more responsibly, then maybe dubbing companies can have a significantly higher degree of freedom and maintaining their equity rates at the same time. I am not saying that this is possible for every parent and child, for you will always get the one idiot or two no less.
Ultimately (as indirect as it may seem), I still blame bad irresponsible parenting on disasterous edits in today's culture.
But of course some are left intact since some are actually good.
Then they do not fall into the category of 'shitty dub' would they? <_<
