I see a trend in your drawings; to me, they always seem to be about 120% their original width. XP

Edit: My mistake. After trying it for myself, the value should be 105%.

I mean in terms of character width. Whenever I see the characters you draw, they always seem to be a bit stretched.

...
Ah yes, and you need to pick another representing character. Your current 'Link' is not an "anime" character.

I didnt resize the image myself though, i took it straight off my Deviantart page.oh and you cant consider link an anime character, even though hes clearly drawn that way in most of the games? mey... oh well, i guess I'll pick another character... i havent looked at the list in a loooong time... is Ed Elric taken? or if thats taken can i be um.... "L" from Deathnote?

Well since I've heard about Naruto far too much for one lifetime, I decided I'd check it out today.

I watched the first 3 episodes, and so far: It sucks.

The humour is generic, the animation's not good, the music sucks, the characters are generic and uninteresting, what exactly is there to like?

Is there some certain point in the series in which it gets decent, or does it just continue like this?

By the way, since I'm not on the list as far as I know, should I be doing the whole needless signing up process or what?

You expected more from Studio Pierrot?
They even outsourced later key episodes with QUALITY products.

I was expecting them to fix it in the DVD release if anything, but nooo. <_<

Skip all the way to around Chapter 70 (Konoha Invasion Arc) for high level battles, and that would be about it.

I don't think I'll bother, I have better ways to waste my time.

But this is a show I really don't get.

I mean, they're ninjas.

They SHOULD be cool.

Why are they not?

WHY ARE THEY NOT?

They made the vampires in Hellsing not typical, yet they still remain somewhat cool.

Oi, busy weekend for me. Shane is still here (we spent all night, quite literally, watching Ranma 1/2) and in a few hours, Jim is going to head over and he doesn't plan on leaving until Sunday afternoon.

Yeah, but the two seasons run for a combined total of around 900 minutes, which is 15 hours.

That and it's been around two years since I've last seen them, and even though I've owned the DVDs for months, I've yet to finish watching them.

Also, we didn't start watching it until around 1:00 AM.

Actually, 2x2 Shinobuden demonstrated that a bunch of Ninja which wear the same clothes and have a 'hive mind' can be even more humorous and interesting.

They just made them with more colorfull personality's i think.

In before someone rants about how two dimensional the characters are to begin with.

Don't mind him, I think he still assumes NG/A/ is a chat board. <_<

As for where I am up to, I have only read the first twenty or thirty pages so far, but I certainly like the exaggerated art style which reminds me of the days before I started reading further into the psychoviolent works of Go Nagai.

And as a side note to everyone reading this; I demand your Moeeblobs.

Fuck yes, I might re-watch it with Jim tonight.

Kuno's House of Gadgets! Guests Check In, But They Don't Check Out episode is one of my fave ranma episode's so far.

That was the first one we watched, it was epic as fuck.

Also, picked up Ichi The Kiler: Episode Zero today, and it's not as bad as I remember it being.
The animation is mediocre, and unless you've read the manga it's pretty hard to understand at times, but it's still fun to watch.

Much agreed, even the weak episodes have a strange sort of appeal.

Even with all its flaws, it still remains my favorite series after all these years...

That line, just now, is the line I want to be made to say after seeing an end to a long series made within these few years.

And so far, you can guess how many times I managed to say it.

I was being specific with my conditions; and no, I am yet to say such a line when watching a long (i.e. 100+ episodes for a TV run) series which has been made within 5 years ago.

As for wanting more of course thats what OVA's are for.

Including but not limited to Doujinshi, Doujin-games, Artbooks, Movie releases, ONAs, remakes and even fandubs (yes, even the fandubs for the laughs).

No shit, but the point is that a gathering of fans being able to organise, manage and make actual dubs which end up surpassing 'official' bastardisations (at worst case) is what makes it all the more ironic.

Or even better; once the Fandubbing Industry starts mass production...

*Sigh*
As much as I like the thought of eliminating all the horrible companies which bastardise the artistic talents of professionals or even the Amateur companies, it just does not work that way.

I believe that the main problem is censorship laws in America due to parental irresponsibility. Chances are that 4kids are trying to minimise the amount of angry hate-mail from overprotective parents who do not want their kids seeing guns and sharp objects on their TV screens (incidently, said parents entrust their TV Sets to raise their children, even).

If parents started acting more responsibly, then maybe dubbing companies can have a significantly higher degree of freedom and maintaining their equity rates at the same time. I am not saying that this is possible for every parent and child, for you will always get the one idiot or two no less.

Ultimately (as indirect as it may seem), I still blame bad irresponsible parenting on disasterous edits in today's culture.

But of course some are left intact since some are actually good.

Then they do not fall into the category of 'shitty dub' would they? <_<

Adult Swim and Toonami are the only known places where I can find good dubbed anime. Besides Jetix.

Don't think it counts, but I watched Treasure Plantet today. I forgot about the times when Disney made good cartoon movies.

They need to make software that analyzes a persons voice and then is able to use it with something like Text Aloud. So all the japanese voice actors can appear to be speaking english....it would suck for non-japanese voice actors though...

This may have already been proposed, but i find it impossible to read through 1000+ pages and remember what i was looking for in the first place, so i'll just say it now and be done with it: Which anime has better Mech-like characters/objects? Neon Genesis Evangelion, Transformers or Gundam Wing? (In general, not any specific off-shoots of any of the aforementioned animes).
