If I had my computer I'd show you reasons why to read the Berserk manga. In the later chapters there is some stunning visuals and the storyline becomes somewhat like Lord of the Rings. It's kinda good for the series but kinda bad though, double edged sword. The first part of the Berserk manga is about Guts[Gattsu] time when he was with Griffith and The Band of the Hawk[for some odd reason called Falcon later on]and how he and Griffith became good friends, Guts becoming more open to people[namely his unit that he commands]and a certain female someone. The following after that is spoilerific beyond words. Mainly it goes from Guts being in a group, to on his own kicking hella tons of ass and then back to a group and becoming more awesome and kicking slightly less tons of ass. Overall it's very good and worth the read.

Hey guys, what was that one show where the opening theme was like an American song or something? The song goes like "And I ran, I ran so far away." Like that? It was like, dudes in ancient armor, yattah yattah.

I watched Perfect Blue today. It was quite good. It seems that part of it is open to interpretation.
*****SPOILERS*****
I think Mima actually was who she believed she was all along and simply had visions of herself criticizing her. And I don't think she killed anyone. I thought she was crazy and killed the photographer at first and kept waking up thinking everything else was a dream, but at the end, I figured that either Rumi or Me-Mania actually killed the photographer. I believe Rumi had been e-mailing Me-Mania telling him that she was the real Mima and told him to kill the "impostor", the real Mima. Rumi was delusional and really wanted to be Mima. I think it's more likely that Rumi killed the photographer than Me-Mania since we see Mima in the scene. Rumi tried to kill Mima, but Mima saw herself instead of Rumi (as opposed to simply hallucinating the attack). So, Me-Mania was real and Mima actually was in a TV series. She didn't have a multiple personality disorder and imagine her acting career. That whole thing about her having the disorder was a dream/day dream that was intended to mislead the viewer. That's how it seems to me. Plus, after she left the mental hospital where Rumi was staying, Mima got in her car, looked at herself in her rear-view mirror and said "I'm the real deal". She was looking directly at the viewer when she said this, so it was almost like saying to whoever was watching the movie "no, she's not crazy".
I'm saying all this because I have a feeling some people see it differently - that Mima was a psycho, she was never a pop star, she killed all the victims, and there was no Me-Mania. That's what I thought at one point while watching it. But I think the viewer is supposed to believe this at a certain point. They want to confuse the viewer.

WTF are you talking about? It's a hugely popular site that allows you to rent movies. They mail the DVDs to you in prepayed envelopes which you put the DVDs back in when you're done and mail them back (no cost for mailing them back, no stamps). You can get up to 5 a month and it has a great selection. I get the 4-at-a-time unlimited plan, which means there's no limit to the total amount of DVDs I can rent monthly.

Ronin Warriors was a neat show. I don't remember much except for Sage who wore green armor with sandy coloured hair and had a poleaxe or something similar.
Saint Sayia[spelling]/Knights of the Zodiac had the Duran Duran theme song or something shitty like that for the OP.

I saw a bit of Gundam SEED Destiny yesterday. Though I didn't really like it. The Gundam series has gone downhill.
Speaking of Berserk, here's my current desktop. I fooled around with photoshop at school blending a few images I found on the internet and changing the color, and I ended up really liking it, so I saved the image on a floppy disc and took it home. It came out blurry when I selected "stretch", though. But it doesn't look good any other way, so I kept it like that.

I managed to watch around fourty seconds of it before turning off the TV in disgust.
Last night was utter madness, Shane and Jim were absolutely out of their goddamned minds.
To kick things off, me and Jim dropped by Sydney Games for some cheap manga (Azumanga and Akira) and got snacks/drinks/etc. for the long night ahead.
Shane showed up late (and forgot his Azumanga DVDs), and then that's when shit got out of hand.
We played DOA2 for about three hours (I managed to go around an hour and forty five minutes without losing), and then finished Mezzo (the last four episodes reek of mediocrity, despite the final episode's eye-rapingly good animation. Jim also managed to predict the exact last lines of the series, which was creepy). Jim went to go fetch some coffee, and when he returned, Shane and I (in ludicrous-looking costumes) screamed "WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!" at him. He was so freaked out that he nearly fell down the stairs.
The rest of the night was just us flicking channels (all the anime last night were re-runs, so we just watched Angry Kid and some Law & Order: SVU), playing Dynasty Warriors 4, talking about porn, watching porn, discussing sexual fantasies and inevitably watching Ranma 1/2 (every time we run out of things to do, we just slap it on and kick back for some lulz).
As a result of the festivies, my clothing smells of Coke Blak, my floor smells of Coke Blak (thanks to a spill during a heated round of DW4), my empty cans of Coca-Cola Classic smell of Coke Blak (we had to split the last bottle in the house, so we poured it into the empty cans) and my laptop smells of Coke Blak (due to the aforemention spill).

"Anime Jyanai" and "Silent Voice" are equally epic in their own tangents, the former for the lyrics, and the latter for its brooding "You-know-he's-going-to-kill-em-all" atmosphere it creates.

I forgot about Turn-A. My mistake. Either way, Gundam SEED wasn't the best.

A shame that it gave a bad first impression with the first Design by Syd Mead (which was altered by Kunio Ogawara for the TV version, and remastered by Katoki as a piece of side art).
Either way, Gundam SEED wasn't the best.
The only good part was the technological setting which had interesting concepts such as Phase Shift (including Trans-Phase and Variable) Armor, Neutron Jammers and the Deuterion Energy types.
Asides from that, SEED's characters were known to have all kind of homosexual jokes cracked at them. The only 'good' thing Fukuda did was cast them with experienced Seiyu (mostly).
Spent around five hours on Paltalk last night rambling with Dobio, SMC and Mast3rmind about DBZ. It was loads of fucking fun.
Such a classic series, yet so flawed and predictable.

Only because the majority of the Western Side has gotten it far too late.
Today's been quite uneventful.
Paltalk was fun in the morning, but now all the lulzy users are offline and everyone else is playing Monopoly. I didn't do much else other than watch The Silence of The Lambs for the millionth time and play a few old N64 games.
Luckily, this week looks like it'll be fun. Tomorrow, I get to assist in choosing books for the ninth grade English literature program at one of the local schools (the teacher has shown interest in adding graphic novels and manga to the list of options, and since I was notorious for reading them in her class, she decided to ask me for my opinion on a few she has purchased as well as asked me to bring in a few favorites of mine).
I see this as the ultimate opportunity to give kids the chance to read the books I had desired to read for school but never got to, not to mention I can whorishly get a few of my all-time faves considered. I don't know if I should bring in serious stuff (V for Vendetta, Death Note, etc.) or lulzier books (Read or Dream, Hsu & Chan and the like)....
Not to mention Easter is coming up soon, and I am in dire need of candy and presents.

Starting several steps back, robots has been around ever since the first conceptual 'robot' was concieved (450 BC), though it has only been put into practice and visual culture around 1495 by Leonardo da Vinci.
As for "Mecha", it would be in 1956; the date Tetsujin 28-go (Iron Man 28, also known as "Gigantor" in the American adaptation) made its debut.

If I remember correctly Tetsujin 28 is the first anime on record. It beat the Astro Boy anime by a few months or so.
