Starting several steps back, robots has been around ever since the first conceptual 'robot' was concieved (450 BC), though it has only been put into practice and visual culture around 1495 by Leonardo da Vinci.

As for "Mecha", it would be in 1956; the date Tetsujin 28-go (Iron Man 28, also known as "Gigantor" in the American adaptation) made its debut.

If I remember correctly Tetsujin 28 is the first anime on record. It beat the Astro Boy anime by a few months or so.

But that's besides the point of the obvous

Actually, there was an anime called Magic Boy that beat Astro Boy by about a year and is the oldest.

Well I've been busy lately, but I still managed to get all of GaoGaiGar. Final will be a bit trickier...

I watched some Ouran with my friend and his girlfriend, then me and him watched some Slayers. Yay for Piko Piko Lina-chan and Shadow Lina/Naga!

I plan on watching Baoh sometime during Spring Break also.

You should never say "HA, you missed me!" to a guy with a blade (for the Captain SNES fans).

Man, I despise being a bibliophile.

I currently have well over 42 (yes, fourty-two) books I need to buy for both school and leisure reading, and few of them are cheap.

This is what I get for being lazy with completing my manga series before moving on to new ones (I need 29 volumes of Ranma 1/2, and 3 each of Read or Dream, Azumanga Daioh and Yotsuba as well as several other on-going series that I own around one or two volumes of) and having expensive taste in literature (Vol. 2 of Romance of the Three Kingdoms is $30.64, and it's nearly 500 pages shorter than vol. 1).

On top of that, I have 27 DVDs on my wish list, the cheapest being around $19.99 and seven boxsets that cost upwards of $100.

I'll be moving in about 2 weeks or so. The house I'm living in now sucks. My dad said I might be able to get a DVD boxset of an Anime series. I was thinking of Getting Hellsing. There's a store here that sells them.

Get Hellsing, it is a great series. One of the finest I've ever purchased.

Do you think that if you said "HA, you didn't miss me!" would that make it where he actually DID miss you?

Nah, he'd just be like "damn right" or " I know". And then the body parts fall off and blood erupts.

You're no fun. I was hoping for a funny joke or something along those lines. Oh well.

Fuck, even though that is likely a very obvious bootleg, that wins.

The boxset is the best way to go for Hellsing, because the box is the sex and paying $21 a volume for three episodes (except volume four, which has four episodes) is no fun.

While the original series has much better dialog, the OVA has amazing animation and is more faithful to the manga's overall tone and plot.

That decision certainly isn't one worth regretting.

The OVA itself looks amazing, and the Anderson relief figure is totally badass.

Plus, Tubalcaine Alhambra = most underrated villain ever

I'm working on getting the Marchen Awakens Romance manga, since after episode 36, getting episodes is a bit trickier.

Oh, and a good Ouran AMV. Mainly because of how good Black Parade is of a song. At least it isn't used as often as linkin park songs.

And when is that Contractors M&Y going to be translated! Gah!

Tone down your spending and make a budget getting one thing at a time, until you have enough cash, just buy enough stuff to hang you over.
