There were a lot of discrepancies with the power levels and what people could do at those levels. Like when Babidi (always liked Bibidi ~> Babidi ~> Buu) measures super saiyan Goku's power at 3000 (using his scale) and says that 500 is enough to destroy a planet...but Vegeta destroyed a planet very early on, when he was first going to Earth, and there is no way Super Saiyan form is only 6 times as strong as that!

In early DBZ, before they became super powerful, in order to destroy a planet they had to disrupt the core. Once they became Super Saiyans they no longer needed to dirupt the core, because they had the power to just blow it up with pure strength.

Jeez dude...chill out, can you not take a joke/someone making fun of you?

Speaking of anime Last night i viewed grave of the fireflies. It was a beutifull tale of courage, struggle for survival, the love between a brother and sister, and so on. Very powerfull emotional film also very sad and real. The film almost drove me to tears. Everyone you must see this film if can you will never regret it.

I may see that one day...but I really don't like depressing shows, such as Saikano and Samurai X: Reflection, and to some extent Elfen Lied. I much prefer comedies, where even when things become bad and serious, it only lasts for a bit, and then it is right back into the funny, and comedies usually have happy endings...like Slayers, Scrapped Princess, Sorcerer Hunters, Those Who Hunt Elves...actually TWHE never had an ending.....

We're right about said win-ness 90% of the time.

I have actually met Man-Faye (look that up on Google if you don't know who he is), and he is a awesome person to talk too.

Lucky devil, Man-Faye high on the list of the most awesome convention goers ever IMO.

Not all that anime-related, but I finally bought DOA 2: Hardcore today and for a seven year old 3D fighter, it still is truly awesome. The visuals and gameplay trump most current-gen PS2 fighters. The only problem is "Normal" mode is far too easy for anyone who is even slightly well-versed in the ways of fighting games, and don't get me started on "Easy".

As opposed to the bounciness that forges its own laws of physics in the recent DOAX2? (Even the Gainax Bounce Effect has its limits. Now it's just... scary)

...

I just started watching Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, and after half a year of doubt and lack of knowledge regarding why it had such a strong fanbase, now I understand and thus the half year burden is finally lifted.

Meganekko? Maid? Nurse? Bunny-girl? Office?

Meganekko + Maid or Nurse FTW.

You just described normal mode...I only got hit once in the first half-hour I played, and that was because I forgot to pause when grabbing a piece of pizza. In easy mode, they don't even bother trying to hit you.

Oh, DOAX2's tit-bounce is infinitely more over-the-top.

I just started watching Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, and after half a year of doubt and lack of knowledge regarding why it had such a strong fanbase, now I understand and thus the half year burden is finally lifted.

I also didn't realize why it was so well-loved until recently, and I must say it wins my eyes out.

It doesn't get any better than that.

Yes, just yes.

Oh well i suck at fighting games i never bother learning the special moves takes up to much time.

I'm a fighting game God, especially in Guilty Gear XX: The Midnight Carnival.

I've got all the instant kills memorized, and the majority of the overdrives as well. I can beat most players with any character, and with Slayer, I'm un-fucking-beatable.

Heavy slash, Dandy Step to Under Pressure, Mach Punch, Faultless Defense, Mach Punch, dust attack, Footloose Journey, kick, punch, kick, slash, Psych Burst, actvate Instant Kill gauge, All Dead.

End of fight.

Random question time, how many anime DVDs (if any) do you own?

I own exactly 31, most of them boxsets.

Good luck finding the money to buy DVDs whilst paying rent.

It's much easier to make extravagant purchases when you needn't pay for shelter as well.

The only box sets I have are of FLCL, Excel Saga, and Betterman....I have other series, like Trigun, Outlaw Star, and Slayers, but they aren't in box sets, just the dvds that make them up.

I don't have any dvds with me at college, so i can't remember all the different DVDs i have...and which ones even work (china ones without subtitles dont really count).

I have a lot on my computer and storage drive:

Azumanga Diaoh
Ouran High School Host Club
Slayers moves,OVA,specials
Dokuro-chan
Sorcerer Hunters
Bleach
Naruto (already talked about this)
Those Who Hunt Elves
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Hunter X Hunter w/ Greed Island
Hellsing OVAs
Afro Samurai
FMP, Fummofu?, FMP:TSR
Plus some movies, like Akira and Howl's Moving Castle

Not really, anime DVDs are hard to find in some places, and the prices (especially for the good stuff) are steep.

We're talking "most of a week's paycheck" steep.

I just wait for xmas or my birthday, which is near the same time. I haven't bought anime myself for a couple of years.... probably because my enthusiasm for anime isn't as high as others. I don't own any clothing with anime on it or any anime posters. And I would never where one of those "anime junkie" tshirts..or was it "anime freak"?

Gift-giving days are always profitable, that's how my collection got so big. My mother knows exactly what to get me.

You're making me feel like a nerd for owning a Samurai Champloo shirt, not to mention my messenger bag is emblazoned with a NERV logo.

Neither would I, they look like shit anyway.

Everyone I know already knows I'm an otaku anyway, and strangers hardly need to know that I am one.

You could alway just make your own. Just get a cool picture you'd want on a shirt and have a company make one...i know there are websites that do that.

And I'm not saying having anime clothing is bad...just that my standards are high, and it would have to be a really kick ass shirt that looks really cool for me to want to buy it.

And who would ever buy one of those Naruto "Believe It" T-shirts? I bet anime fans would make more fun of whoever wheres that than people who dont watch anime.

It is called having passion for something, like a sports fan having posters, jerseys, gear, and sports magazine. It's just that while a hockey fan can have a hockey stick, an anime fan has to get either a dvd or manga.

Yes, I also demand some Doujins, for......viewing.

It's hard to find decent stuff arounf here, let alone obscure things...and now one of the biggest comic shops on the island has gone out of business. Now I'm stuck with Musicworld (good for mainstream anime and the ocassional limited edition boxset), Coles (has Tokyopop manga and an unreliable order system that takes a week to ship books and months to ship DVDs) and the unnamed store on Townsend (cheap manga, pricy but awesome DVDs and a fuckload of random merch).
