Hell, I've seen countless series, but very little of what people watch these days, that doesn't keep me from finding new things to talk about.

To address the Transformers movie, it is Japanese in origin, like Gendo said. ( you think Americans came up with the idea of robots that turn into cars?)And yeah, the music was pretty much hair rock ( Stan Bush ) and random Weird Al.
The actors weren't Japanese ( Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy , Orson Welles, Eric Idle ), but it still owned.
And Fist of the North Star is made of win and gasoline and money. That's how awesome it was.

Most of them are huge otakus, and all of them know about Lum (thanks to my blatant fanboyism), but only one has seen the series and another has read a bit of the manga.
Since from Friday to Saturday (in celebration of my birthday) we're doing an anime/movie marathon, I figured I'd make them all watch my personal favorite.
So far (assuming my order arrives), we'll have R.O.D. The TV, Haruhi Suzumiya, Ranma 1/2, Death Note, Urusei Yatsura, Samurai Champloo, Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop as well as (time for the movies now) Silence of The Lambs and Hannibal to watch.

Hayao Miyazaki, and you'd assume a vast majority of the people in this club would have seen at least one of his films. Considering films like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away etc. are considered some of the best animated, if not all time best, films of the last 20 years or something.

While we're talking about upcoming anime, has anyone considered watching Doubutsu no Mori? You know, the Animal Crossing one? I was really against it at first, since A) It's based off a video game, and VG Anime rarely spark my interest, and B) It's freakin' animal crossing. Don't get me wrong, I love the games, but how can you make an ANIME out of such a humdrum, mundane game, lol?
However, after seeing the trailers, I decided I'd watch it, lol. I'm debating ordering a subbed import when/if they show up in some of the shops I lurk through.

So far the only thing I have in the portal is a Shin-chan flash sig that I made, but I'm working on a short bit for a collab now and it's turning out quite nice. His films kick ass. Spirited Away is my favorite. It's like my eyes have been glued to a roller coaster going 100mph (for some reason). My brain was in the back seat of the roller coaster getting laid.

To the one who was talking about Lum earlier, I wanted to say that I have all of the American released graphic novels, and the first American released DVD. I love the manga (even though it was horribly butchered, lol) and the anime is just as funny, even if it is rather old. Still, I think I like Ranma 1/2 better. :) In its own way at least, lol.
Have you ever read/watched some of her other stuff? Takahashi-sensei's done so much - One Pound Gospel, Rumic Theatre and Rumic Trilogy, Mermaid Forest, Inu Yasha, Maison Ikkoku, etc.

Finished Full Metal Alchemist, and briefly considered never ending any other anime. I should just watch them 3/4 of the way and then stop. Enough to know most of the story, but not enough to get sucked into watching the finale. Started watching Trigun again. Already up to episode nine "Murder Machine."
