Way to trample all over my childhood memories....not to mention blatantly ignore the fact the only thing not anime about the film was the voice acting and music, the film was animated by an entirely Japanese staff, and anime is "Japanese animation" by definition.

It may have been released in dubbed into English first (and the English version only predates the Japanese release by a single day), but it is still (as Transformers has always been) Japanese in origin.

To address the Transformers movie, it is Japanese in origin, like Gendo said. ( you think Americans came up with the idea of robots that turn into cars?)And yeah, the music was pretty much hair rock ( Stan Bush ) and random Weird Al.
The actors weren't Japanese ( Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy , Orson Welles, Eric Idle ), but it still owned.

And Fist of the North Star is made of win and gasoline and money. That's how awesome it was.

Most of them are huge otakus, and all of them know about Lum (thanks to my blatant fanboyism), but only one has seen the series and another has read a bit of the manga.

Since from Friday to Saturday (in celebration of my birthday) we're doing an anime/movie marathon, I figured I'd make them all watch my personal favorite.

So far (assuming my order arrives), we'll have R.O.D. The TV, Haruhi Suzumiya, Ranma 1/2, Death Note, Urusei Yatsura, Samurai Champloo, Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop as well as (time for the movies now) Silence of The Lambs and Hannibal to watch.

Hayao Miyazaki, and you'd assume a vast majority of the people in this club would have seen at least one of his films. Considering films like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away etc. are considered some of the best animated, if not all time best, films of the last 20 years or something.

While we're talking about upcoming anime, has anyone considered watching Doubutsu no Mori? You know, the Animal Crossing one? I was really against it at first, since A) It's based off a video game, and VG Anime rarely spark my interest, and B) It's freakin' animal crossing. Don't get me wrong, I love the games, but how can you make an ANIME out of such a humdrum, mundane game, lol?

However, after seeing the trailers, I decided I'd watch it, lol. I'm debating ordering a subbed import when/if they show up in some of the shops I lurk through.

To change the topic YET AGAIN (I think I'm incurable), how many of our members are flash animetors? =3 I'm an aspiring one, lol. So far the only thing I have in the portal is a Shin-chan flash sig that I made, but I'm working on a short bit for a collab now and it's turning out quite nice. I was hoping though that I might be able to pick up some pointers if we have any veterans in the club, lol.

His films kick ass. Spirited Away is my favorite. It's like my eyes have been glued to a roller coaster going 100mph (for some reason). My brain was in the back seat of the roller coaster getting laid.
