Both are great series, definitely worth watching.

Ranma 1/2 has a special place in my heart because the manga inroduced me to the genre, and the anime is light-hearted fun (not to mention very lengthy).

Hellsing rules because it has an amazing sense of style, memorable characters and the story is both interesting and fairly simple. It doesn't demand you think too much, but it rewards you for paying attention. Better still, read the novel or watch the original film version of Dracula and Hellsing will be even more entertaining.

Also, cease the picture spam or suffer the consequences, this is your final warning.

You left out all but the last punctuations, unless you do not live on oxygen.

Though even if you do not need a steady oxygen supply, you still fail for rushing the lyrics.

Heidi Opening

As any one seen this anime. Again it never came to America so i doubt it. It is based on a book i believe. The story is about a little girl who goes and moves with his grumpy grandpa.

Yeah, fucking sucks that all that exists of the series in English is an OVA that came out in 1985.

Loved the music.

At 2/6/07 05:24 PM, DemonCole wrote: Does anyone watch Futurama?

What does this have to do with anime? Also, what the Hell is with kids and re-runs of long-dead series?

I loved Futurama, but since I caught the whole thing during its original run, I rarely bother with re-runs.

Here's a hint for ya newbie: Stop asking that question. Every damn newbie asks that question in a vain attempt to show that they are worth something to this club. Want to be worth something? Go read our club's rules (damnit, someone post a link to them), learn them, and then just go with the flow in conversations instead of trying to make your own.

3. Naruto
What episode are you on, and have you been keeping up with the MangA?
5. Fullmetal Alchemist
One of my top 5
6. Hikaru no Go
When was this made into an anime???

2. I watch subbed. When I'm into anime, I usually buy subbed imports, with rare exception. I'm up to season 7 of One Piece I think... I'd have to go look, lol.
3. I can't remember, but I know I'm ready to begin season six. I have the box set at home; I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet, lol. I stopped reading the manga after I began watching the anime. ;) I think I only got the first five SJ novels, lol.
5. The manga is what really turned me onto this one. I'm buying the American released DVDs, but they're bloody expensive. At least the subtitling is decent.
6. A LONG time ago, lol. The US didn't pick it up until recently, though. I've been a fan of the anime for years. ;)

At 2/5/07 09:03 PM, TacticalShoe wrote: Isn't the Evangelion ending theme the song, Fly Me To The Moon?
If it is, I love that song.

Yes it is, and I love it too. :) Did you know it's been around since the mid-fifties, and a ton of entertainers have sung it? Even Frank Sinatra sang it. ;)

At 2/6/07 11:03 AM, Bleach667 wrote: Hey shuko how on earth did get all that anime, thats awsome someday id like to be an otaku to, so how do get started on becoming one

Quite a few years of collecting, lol. I became an anime addict in high school, somewhere around '98 or '99. After that I bought manga and anime religiously. I got a job at a bookstore at one point. Big mistake. They practically paid me in manga, lol. I brought home a lot more manga than I did money. :p The three years I worked there pretty much filled out my library. Now I have a much better paying job to make use of my college degree, and I can be more liberal with my money than I was before... but I'm not going crazy either. I'm saving up for a house. ;)

At 2/6/07 05:23 PM, HaroFreak wrote: This is some classic genre, amirite?

Lol. I had to look that one up; I'd never heard of it before. Catchy music too. :D "Honoo no Tenkousei" translates to "Fiery Transfer Student." That much I knew. But when I looked up the series I had to laugh. xD Made in 1991. :) Fairly vintage, methinks. But nothing as vintage as Voltron or Shin Getter Robo. ;)

Man, that heidi pic up there reminds me of my childhood. :p I grew up watching anime like that on Nickelodeon... Things like Grimm's Fairy Tales, Maya the Bee, Belle and Sebastian, and the Noozles, to name a few. Oh! Does anyone remember the Unico movies? I saw them a couple times when I wasn't even a kindergartner yet, and to this day I still can't find them. :( I wish they'd release them on DVD...

I'm beginning to feel like an ADD child in a candy store. xD I'll stop changing the subject. :p
