Inuyasha was an awesome anime, though I haven't seen all the episodes.

I have zero idea why it ended.

I shal refrain from stating my opinions on the series, though, because the last thing I want to do is rant on angrily.

yea it is. im surprised they chose the sengoku period. usually they would choose the shogunate period like in rurouni kenshin(which was aweseome btw) and samurai champloo. btw they never explained y there are no demons in the present but they are in the past. maybe they did. the last episode i saw was wen they met miroku.

Wiki says that the company decided to stop after one of the crew wasn't able to work anymore, though I don't know how reliable that is. The manga is like at ch 482 or something.

It's not the lack of story material that was the issue, it was probably lack of funding or the staff being unwilling to continue with the series.

Your history is way off. Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai Champloo are set about 100 years apart (roughly), and are in different era's. Samurai Champloo is set in the mid to late 1700's, during the "Edo" era, at which point Japan why trying to fight against letting the Europeans into Japan. It's named the Edo era becasue that's when the balance of power shifted to Edo (Tokyo) from Osaka. Kyoto was where the Emperor lived, but since 1000 when the Warring States era began, he was a puppet of whatever Daimyo (fuedal lord) could capture the gates of the emperors palace. In 1598 a peasant who became a samurai (that was allowed at the time) called the General Nakamura managed to subjugate all of Japan, which was unheard of at the time. Petitioning the Emperor, he received the title of Kwampaku (chief civil advisor), because he could not be Shogun (Only samurai of extremely ancient bloodline could be Shogun), and builds Osaka castle, where he rules from. Two years later, Nakamura dies. Bad shit happens, country goes back to civil war. Battle of Sekigahara happens, a new Shogunate is established, which takes us up to Samurai Champloo time. Eventually beaurocracy, and corruption takes over the Shogunate, and in steps Emperor Meiji. Say "hi" to Rurouni Kenshin and The Last Samurai at this point. Emperor Meiji is young, idealistic, and not the puppet of some wannabe Shogun. While previously Japan nearly went to war just to kick the Europeans out, Emperor Meiji welcomes them in with open arms. He removes the ancient caste system and orders all samurai to give up their swords and distinctive haircut (you see it all the time in Samurai Champloo, bald on top, hair on the sides raised up into a queue). Western influences abound in Japan. They take up the clothing, the haircuts, and they repress the rampant sexuality of their culture. Japan becomes a modern wester country, but all products made there are considered cheap crap. Up until the 1950's when the company that would eventually become Sony changed that, and started making good products for cheap prices. Overnight all of Japan changed to be the same, and this is how he have modern day Japan.

rurouni kenshin was both set in the late shogunate period and the early meiji period. i know samurai champloo was set in the shogunate period cuz one of the episodes mention a european enterin japan based on the shogunate's orders. anyway about rurouni kenshin, the ova was set in the late shogunate period during when he was trying to overthrow the governement and rurouni kenshin the tv show was set in the early meiji period. il send u link for both of 'em from wikipedia.

Any who has seen Jojo's bizzare adventure? (The movie where Dio freezes time, and the clips in the video 'n shit) It's supposed to be off the fucking metre with blood and gore.

(Then again, the game was only 12's I think and it still had sick shit.)

Finished Cromartie High School. Episodes 19, 20 and definitely 26 were the best, especially 26. I haven't laughed that hard in a long damn while.

---

Started Rozen Maiden and I'm not trying to sound like a gigantic faget[fag=get FYI]but the character designs are....

...

cute... Especially Shinku. I love her class and how she deals with Jun. Her not knowing what a toilet was and thinking it was a table was... *ugh* .... cute as well. The OST matches up with this series perfectly for it's theme and characters thus far. I'm about to watch episode three as soon as I post this. I understand why a lot of people in /a/ and other friends of mine like this series. The ending song is amazing too. Also, I'm enjoying the OP song where I said I didn't. The lyrics for the OP and ED are almost as they are ripped out of a fairy tale. They're.... beautiful.

So let us set this straight...

OH GOD PLEASE NO

- Character designs and dolls = cute
- OP & ED lyrics = beautiful
- Not a faget

I DON'T WANNA TURN GAY

Too late I'd say.

Whomever posted the wiki links. I never specified when in the Meiji era Rurouni Kenshin happened, obviously it was at the beginning, because there are still samurai around. Also, wiki is not the font of all knowledge in the universe. It can be surprisingly inaccurate.

I started watching Samurai Champloo when the first episode hit Japan, and I just finished it yesterday. Kinda sad, huh? Anyway, I didn't like the ending very much (though it was better than Berserk's). But, I can't really think of any ending I've liked. There's just alway so much left unresolved. Guess I get sentimental and attached to the characters.

Eh, the ending left much to be continued IMO. Took me four airings to finally catch the last three episodes. Amazing soundtrack though and yes, good characters as well.

I just noticed that the member list is really fucked up, like, chunks are missing. I know I have a back up list somewhere for shit like this was to ever happen. Probably have to go back to the freewebs method now.
