Your math is off.
Good storyline + Boobs = Cheapened story.

And of course,
Boobs + Pantyshots = Pseudo-porn = No story.

XDD If you want to see an anime full of boobies and panty shots then the anime "Ikki Tousen" is excellent for that... I watched a few episodes and all that was in them was panty shots and the main character, "Hakufu Sonsaku" clothes being ripped off.. it has a good storyline and its hot.. XD lol, well thats mt opinion at least. XD

Response to Anime Club 2007-01-09 02:54:35

Elfven Lied has good nude shots, same with Girls Bravo, storylines aren't too bad either. But I think School Rumble is better then 'em both hands down. It's storyline is funny and you can relate to it. Not to mention it's gots to be one of the most funniest animes out there. Though it could use some more nudity... But then agian all animes could use more nudity. And even if their was, we'd all still be hentai otakus. ^^

No, just no. Fanservice doesn't make an anime, good story and characters do.

He said good storyline. Good storyline makes an anime, but with boobs it is a super anime.

I think some people take animes too seriously, when they were meant to be seen as just random and funny. Animes don't neccessarily need a good storyline though...Excel Saga and Ranma 1/2 are good examples, since each episode has its own plot. Storylines don't even have to be original...like Gundam..lots of the characters and events are the same throughout the different versions (except the ones that have a different storyline, like 8th MS Team and G Gundam).

Also.. mangas should be used to enhance an anime, not bash it. I started reading Naruto, Bleach, and Akira after I saw them (and fillers started). If Akira didn't have good animation, people would probably say it wasn't that great because the manga was better...like Harry Potter fans... "The Akira movie leaves out like half the plot!" "Lots of characters were downgraded or completely absent!" "Tetsuo's problems are shown way more in the manga! In the movie he goes from loosing his arm straight to the big blob monster, without him having to deal with all the other transformations!"...etc

I know, but that and boobs do not make for a super-anime. Call me crazy, but that stuff hasn't appealed to me since early adolesence.

I love self-contained stories and sillyness.

I agree with you on Akira, the manga is infinitely superior and the production values are what make the film so memorable.

Sup everyone. I turned on the cable box to check out what was On Demand, to my surprise I find DNA2 on it which happens to be connected to Hentai game "Of course, it was based off of it." I thought the show was quite good, also saw some Guyver and some episodes of Ikki Tousen I've already seen.

Still original, creative & innovative, most known unknown.

I'm looking to start a new anime series, does anyone know of a cool fast paced fighting anime?( not including DBZ, YuYu Hakusho, Samurai Champloo, Avatar, and Naruto) I already watch them.

Lucky devil, there's nothing on here tonight, and G4 still hasn't announced what anime will be replacing Gad Guard on weeknights. Oh well, tomorrow is anime night on Razer(Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai 7, Trinity Blood, and Basilisk) and I've better things to do tonight than watch TV anyway.

Oh, you got me wrong. I watch more than that, but that is the type of show I'm going for.

Pro Tip: Avatar is not Japanese anime but an American made cartoon. Tell us what you like and maybe we can tell you some good series.

Still it's not bad for an anime style cartoon made in America. DemonCole for an anime I would actually suggest anything with Macross in it excluding Macross 7 and Macross 7 Dynamite those shows soiled the Macross name, ummm BECK is also somthing I would reccomend it might not be along the lines of the anime you said you like but alot of people who don't get into that kind of anime still seem to like it(Myself being one of them).

As for myself I've been thinking of trying Ayakashi and Battle Programmer Shirase out but I haven't really heard anything about them from people I know, can I rack your brains for opinions?

seriously. Plus, I can't help but scoff or roll my eyes these days when I see unnecessary nudity in an animated film or series. Although I did find the tit popping out at the end of Dead Leaves to be mildy funny, same as the severed penis landing in the robot's mouth earlier in the movie.

lol

Well, there's Hellsing. Berserk is also good, but it has one of the worst endings ever. Oh, and the same thing I just said about Berserk goes for Gantz....IMO

The reason why [I'm assuming not many know this] the Berserk anime had only 25 episodes is because they ran out of funds. They were pushing themselfs just to make the deadlines on time. Yeah, the anime ends terribly but it makes you hunger for more and turns you towards the manga.

Wow, that sucks worse than just having an inconclusive ending. I'm still dying to see it anyway.

I've been watching Ouran High School Host Club...it is actually pretty good. It is a "reverse harem" type of anime, with a group of guys instead of girls, though I don't think they all are in love with the one girl. They have the loli-shota, prince, cool guy (with glasses), wild one (who isn't that wild), normal one/studying one, and incest twins (in a funny way). Maybe a little gay...but they actually make fun of themselves...(prince calling others "homo characters"). It is basically the boy love fan girl version of harem animes.

Holy fuck, that sounds amazing. That is by far one of the most interesting premises I've heard of in a while, the local import shop has the manga, so I shall give it a read before watching.

Thanks for the explaination, because I was always wondering if it was worth checking out or not.

It's gotten a good amount of recognition in /a/ and other places as well. Mostly for the main character though. From the screen shots it looks like a good out there/bizarre anime worth checking out.

I'm listening to the Rozen Maiden OST and my god... It. Is. Amazing. If you're into easy listening and classical music this is a track for you. The OP isn't all that great, terrible I DARE say but other than that it's a solid OST. Has some happy/cheery/up beat tracks like you'd find in a old RPG on a SNES of like a country or small village per say. But yeah, GREAT OST. If I can find it somewhere I'm definitely going to buy it.

I hope that reading the manga doesn't lessen the anime if you decide to watch it (referring to Love Hina discussion). Though I doubt the relationships/history are that deep anyways.

I decided to dig up the OST to Gundam Wing: Endless Watlz and I'm fucked hooked again. I loved the film to death and the music is excellent. "Wufei's Irritation" (a piece consisting of two short sections, a depressing orchestral intro and a bizarre ambient interlude) has always been a personal favorite of mine, and I've been listening to it almost non-stop for the past two days.

Also, I'm dying to find the orchestral piece that plays at the beggining of each episode (after the title card), I love that goddamn song.
