How unsurprising....

I can't wait for the next convention around here, the local otaku group raffled off a Wii to pay for the next event, but I've got no idea how much the raised. I should e-mail Jacqueline about it, here's hoping it's gonna be held at the new hotel with the fancy conference hall like last Summer's annual con.

Good list, meldecite, but you're only supposed to give one favorite character...

Actually I haven't heard of two of them. After I looked at it again I realized that you listed characters for each one. Whoops, I guess I got confused at first.

Just throwing an idea out here, but this is a forum. Not a chatroom. You can start typing, then walk away, and when you come back, you can finish typing. Don't you think this would have been better than uselessly making two posts that could have been one? Don't fill my club with crap, don't talk about downloading anime off the internet, and don't expect special treatment. I hate everything in existence. And several things that aren't.

Hopefully when they do continue it and dub it over here they'll get some one other than that shitty VA, Richard Cox, to do Inuyasha's voice.

The Mobile Suit Gundam panel was very informative and also somewhat hilarious; the panelists explained the vast majority of the Gundam canon, from the One Year War to Turn A Gundam's mustache. They skipped over G Gundam because there wasn't enough time to properly ridicule it.

Gah! G Gundam > ALL Gundam series. Well, Haven't seen F91, Z, ZZ and Turn-A so I can't say for sure. Other than that, my statement stands.

Last, but not least, the Bleach fan panel showed me just how far behind I am in the series; apparently there's a subbed version online with nearly 100 episodes, and Adult Swim has only aired around a dozen dubbed.

As of this past thursday the episode count is 109. About 40 + fillers in the series[Bounto Arc]but they are some decent fillers, better than most series.

I couldn't find a single box of pocky at the convention, but managed to pick some up at a grocery store in Grove City.

What flavor?

Kouga AKA LLStarks founded the club and ran it for a bit, into the ground that is. Other than that, Tink13 and Wonko along with MrTrivia have been the main leaders around here. I guess you could say it's like:

1- Tink
2- Wonko
3- MrTrivia

Although Tink seems to be on myspace more than anything, AIM, YIM, MSN, here. Gah, and I'm too lazy to make a myspace account to drag her back from that place.

That will never happen, Viz loves Cox, they feel it's his duty to murder every English dub of a popular Rumiko Takahashi series they produce.

I thank Christ that Viz didn't obtain the license to dub Urusei Yatsura, or we'd probably have to endure Richard as Ataru, which would be a fate worse than death.

I was pissed when I was watching Ranma 1/2 and half way through, I think around episode 60 or so they got rid of Ranma's current VA[wasn't bad, almost fitted Ranam]and put Cocks and his terrible voice in there. I about died since I only have it in the english dub on blank tapes. Christ, talk about pulling fucking teeth.

Another series I need to get into. Don't know much about it except for Lum and her fancy outfit and her horns. And some... other things. <_<

Sarah Strange fucking won as Ranma, she made him sound like a bitter, childish prick, which I felt fit him perfectly. What's a real kick in the arse is the one Ranma DVD I own is from the seventh season, so I have to endure Cocks' shite voice. Oh well, I'm gonna order the first season in about two weeks and give my ears a rest.

Haha, you owe it to yourself to get into UY. I own the first movie and a couple dozen issues of the manga and it is bloody amazing. My friends, who are notorious for only liking action anime, were very easily converted.

The first two movies are the best place to start. The first being a delighfully benign film that uses uber-awesome songs to develop the plot. The second is an avant-garde masterpiece of amazing weirdness. It's very similar to Groundhog Day, except with Nazis and a very trippy harem scene.

What does everyone think about animes with excessive fan service? Like those sucky ones that every chick has massive boobs and there is a panty shot every two seconds. i guess i find those to raunchy i rather like a story line more then excessive amount of boobs.

Grenadier's fanservice had a point, because the girl was able to hold bullets in between her large breasts. If she was flat, that wouldn't happen. Also then it would basically be the same as Trigun, but not as good.

I haven't seen or heard of many animes that use fanservice badley. Not sure, though, how good shows like Eiken are, but the exagerratedly oversized breasts are probably just for added comedic effect.

Why do they sometimes switch voice actors when they turn anime's into movie's? I've been wondering that ever since the YuYu Hakusho movies. There isn't even the same voice actors in both movies!

Some are pretty good if they balance out the fan service with a good story line. Others are just too much to be considered a anime and more of a h-series.

Central Park Media, not Funimation, holds license to one of the YuYu movies, reason why the V.A.s are different.

It is absolute bliss, although it's nothing like the manga or TV series. It's got quite a dark, nihilistic edge to it.

People's voices change, and people give up on voice acting.

You can't stop someone from quitting a business like that.

Eiken sucks. I know because I was foolish enough to buy it. About every fifth word was "boobies", even if the characters were talking about a different body part. I couldn't stand to finish the first half, and I'm hoping to find someone even dumber to buy it off me.
