I noticed Newtype did a piece about the Eva films, I'm actually really getting sick of how big a deal people still make of Evangelion. It's a good series, but far from the best. Did the article have any super-exciting tidbits about plot, characters, etc?

I must know.

Sorry, the novels have no English translation at the moment.
Would you know if they have any plans, or if there are fan translations?

I've heard of no plans for an official release, and I haven't been able to find any fan-translations.

I must know.

The Newtype article on Evangelion talks about the impact it made in the anime world and there's a page that shows these awesome looking figures of EVA Unit 01 and Rei Ayanami. The Rei figure is modeled after the cover of the April 1997 issue of Newtype which sold a lot of copies. They also talk about a new Evangelion video game called, Meitantei Evangelion which translates to "Crack Detective Evangelion". The new game has a completely original concept.

*****SPOILERS*****
Set in an alternate Eva universe, the player takes on the identity of NERV Special Investigator Shinji Ikari, who's been tasked with the mission of thwarting the attacks of the mysterious, murdering Angels. Half interactive detective novel and half RPG, the story unfolds through a series of adventures that challenge our hero to ferret out the truth by collecting important items and picking out key phrases that characters drop in conversation. The game includes action elements involving fights with the Angels, and even sports mini-segments allowing the player to engage in diverse in-game activities like music and bowling! One particularly interesting story development pits Shinji against rival Kaworu Nagisa, even introducing a new Eva unit for Kaworu. Even better, the entire cast is the same as in the original anime, and every line of the script is fully voiced by actors.

Awesome, I'd heard of Meitantei Evangelion awhile ago (I have the official site for the game bookmarked) and it sounds fucking amazing,

I just might grab that issue today...

Because, we're one of the top 3 largest threads in NG history. But, we actualy talk about what our club is supposed to, they're just a bunch of pre-pubescent jack-asses who try to be hard and talk about bullshit all day. I used to read in on that club (I used to read in on every club). I never saw any mafia related conversations.

Same thing with post count, page count doesn't matter. Being that the post is relevant to the subject of the club and not. Over half of their pages consist of nothing but bitching about others conduct and hoping that so and so will come back. I really could care less what they do in their club but if I see similar actions in this club it won't be tolerated. The people who honestly care about post count and page count are idiots. Case in point, very.

On another note it seems that the Hellsing files need a different code to be played. This is a shame. I'll have to hunt one down later on when I'm not playing Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. It's a very good game, you should check it out.

After Hellsing comes Zeta Gundam and the other gundam series I've not watched yet.

Excuse me. Don't judge us on just reading our conversations from the outside. What are we supposed to talk about? Extorting businesses on the internet? Also we do have mafia-related stories and roleplay as well as our general talk. Also your description on what we do is incredibly off-base. What have you got against us?

I agree with Britkid on this one guys. I'm not tryin to take sides but I just don't like the fact that you are judging them just based on some club members that are total spam hungry assholes. That's right. I am in both clubs. Albel the Wicked does not choose sides!

I'm back. I just passed the 430+ mark on amount of manga. And I just got done watching Hanaukyo Maid Team (The manga is better, my opinion though, two versions of the anime, yet I still prefer the manga.) and Golden Boy (Instant classic, look for it if you haven't heard of it.)

Harem Animes.Mangas, have always been cool with me. Although if there's one that was great when it first came, and then just died for me, it would have to be the Tenchi series, although the same creator that brought out Tenchi, also created to Dual! Parallel Adventure series, by far one of my most favorites yet.

Golden Boy is a masterpiece, I may give it a watch tonight.

I'm now very pissed at G4 Canada, tonight they air the last episode of R.O.D. The TV and it's timeslot for the next six weeks will be filled by Gad Guard. It has to have one of the dullest premises I've ever heard of for a series, so I guess I'll be stuck trying to find a way to kill the 9:30 to 10:00 timeslot Monday to Friday until January....

I was hoping for Cromartie High School or Abenobashi, but I know that G4 couldn't possibly be that generous.

I do have some reasonably good news, my incredibly delayed order has been explained. The discs I ordered recently went out of print and stocks have been sparse, so they're on backorder and will be shipped either on Friday or Monday. From there I have a 3-9 day wait until I receive them. While I'm pissed that I could have to wait until the 28th for my Mamoru Oshii/Rumiko Takahashi goodness, I'm glad that my order is actually being processed considering the circumstances.

Indeed.

I'm now very pissed at G4

You know, back before Tech TV merged with G4, Tech TV had some pretty damn good anime on it, sad that when it merged we get some slightly boring stuff, but I can't really complain. I don't buy anime, unless it's kind've hard to find, or at least as good as the manga it came from (Love Hina was a disgrace, the anime. It's not until Love Hina Again that the characters look more accurate.)

Those two series are very good, especially Abenobashi, I like how they make fun of nearly 100 things in each episode, my favorites would have to be the cursing Elvis, and their take on BGM's for RPG's.

That's cool, I actually finally finished the whole Ranma 1/2 series about a month ago. The Mermaid Saga was also good, I might buy the mangas just to have them, I already read them from my friend.

Tech TV was ace, Extended Play, Max Headroom and decent anime reigned over the network back then. Now all we have is Attack of The Show re-runs and little else.

And as a huge Love Hina fan, I must agree with you only the shitty anime.

Abenobashi was amazingly funny, plus it looked amazing.

I've been reading/watching Ranma 1/2 since 1998 and I only own five volumes of the second print manga, a dozen or so of the old monthly comic version and the first three episodes of season seven on DVD. The wait for more Ranma stuff is fucking killing me. Mermaid Saga was also bloody amazing, as are all of Rumiko's works from the 70's to the mid-90's.

AOTD is just boring to me, as well as G4. I personally would like to knee the person in the groin that suggested "Hey, let's have Star Trek air for most of the day, gamers won't care, especially since it's a network for gamers." Ugggh. Although I will admit, it was nice that threw Arrested Development in the schedule, I actually like the show.

And as a huge Love Hina fan, I must agree with you only the shitty anime.

Damn right, which is why I can't really get into most animes. Much like Negima though, watching that is Ok, but none of the characters are quite accurate, and listening to the English dubs are like nails on a chalkboard, I watch it subbed now, or at least used to. I watched three episodes and said "The hell with it, I'll just pick up the manga."

Abenobashi was amazingly funny, plus it looked amazing.

Another win for Gainix, but if you take a look at NGE and Abenobashi's main characters, you'd be able to find similarities between both of them, it was an interesting find.

I feel sorry for you if you actually bought the mangas that costs $15+, since the reissued ones only cost 10 each. Lucky for me, I live next to a used book store (Great for finding manga you'll never find in stores), a Waldenbooks, Suncoast, Borders, and a Barnes & Nobles. I walk into one of those stores, everybody knows my name, 4 years and running.

Sasshi is just Shinji in a cowboy hat to me...albeit much more interesting a character.

Don't remind me that I spent $15 a pop on them, I live on an island in Eastern Canada, so I'm forced to shop at badly priced import stores for my manga fix. I'd kill for a Borders, Hell, even a Brentano's would be nice. I sadly didn't even get to shop at any of those stores when I was in NYC (because Suncoast went out of business shortly before I arrived and there was no bus service the week I was there, so since the group I travelled with didn't get on any taxis or trains, I had to walk through Manhattan).

Very true, seeing as both shows are surreal as Hell.

Man, that's some bad news, although I must say though, Suncoasts and Sam Goodies have been dropping like flies lately.

I noticed, Musicland Inc. (Suncoast's parent company) got bought out by New York-based rival and they've decided to close 115 Suncoasts (obviously starting with the ones in NYC) and as a result, Central Park Media has been downsizing like mad seeing as Suncoast was pretty much the first and last word on retail anime (and the store that helped popularize their animes).

Oh well, after the holidays I'll have enough money to both travel and make orders on Amazon, so stocking up for '07 shan't be an issue.

I haven't been here in a long time. What'd I miss. Also, Abenobashi and Ranma are awesome. I feel kinda stupid about the fact that it took me a while to catch two of the three refrences in Arumi's transformation sequence.
