*New message board
*Anime requirement amendment

I have two questions about these proposed ideas:
1. What exactly do you mean by "Otakon meet-up"? If you're hoping to get everyone in this club to attend the convention in Baltimore, Maryland, then you'll be sorely disappointed. I personally am not willing to drive more than 200 miles for a convention, so I'd rather meet up at Ohayocon with the members in this region.

2. Roughly 90-95% of the anime I've watched has been on American TV or on DVD, so I don't know if I could put in my two cents if we're all required to talk about fansubs and Japanese broadcasts. Can we really expect people to keep up if mainstream anime discussion is curbed and the obscure anime is mandated?

Oh well, its still *kind of* funny, not as funny as the way my friend described it, though.

God, I hope you're not just saying that because it isn't anime. Anime isn't the only good thing to watch.

Right and what about those who don't like fansubs? I don't watch them and I probably never will. All I watch is DVD/VHS anime and sometimes anime on TV. That's it, but it doesn't make me any less of a fan. I find this idea to be very unfair.

So it's immature not to watch fansubs? WTF???

Got a questions,
Do you guys consider animated hentai in the catagory of anime like Bible Black? And are hentai doujins of anime shows consider manga?

Hentai and anime are two different things, just like doujins and mangas. Doujins are self-published, while mangas aren't. Hentai doujins and hentai anime are just genres (sub-catagory), like horror, fantasy, and comedy.

This anime club doesn't deal with with any material of that nature.

How do most of you watch anime? I just use Youtube, and a bit of downloading. Are there other ways to watch free anime. I dont like watching the tv, because its changed voices and most time it sucks.

I didn't create this club solely for mainstream anime... Besides, your idea of mainstream differs from my view as to what is mainstream. This amendment shall pass, and the club shall benefit from it.

Tv only has english acting, and dvds cost money unless you download (takes forever), and why You Tube destroy? ENGLISH VOICES DESTROY IT! Youtube is just a new way of watching anime for free.

Why do you think that? it is an easier place for people who don't want to download the anime just watch it . Even though the Naruto fillers aren't that good, people still keep up with them because they love the show. I have friends who are getting into animes from there, and when they really get into one they expand their range of animes and try to find better places to get it.

The main thing i don't like about it is that getting japanese voices with english dubs isn't easy with older animes that are like MKV/OGM, since converting and editing ends with just english dubs. Also subtitles can be hard to read.

I think the more anime that the common person has access only helps anime. If people like it, then that's great...and if they don't, then it wouldn't really matter where they saw it. If one bad quality or dubbed anime puts them off it, then they probably weren't going to be big fans.

I have a question: Why is FLCL such a love/hate anime? Is it that some people can understand the plot a bit and like some of the randomness, while others find it confusing and stupid? (Question inspired by FLCL marathon on Saturday)

Okay guys, I've been reading your reactions to the proposed amendment and I MIGHT be willing to make a concession. While I am adamant in raising the requirement to 10 listed animes, I may just be willing to bend on the stipulation that no more than 4 of those animes can be currently airing on Cartoon Network. I will simply not allow the 5 anime requirement to remain in effect, it is not an option.

I leave you with 2 options.

1. Implement a 10 favorite anime listing requirement.
2. Implement a 10 favorite anime listing requirement with the "non-CN majority" stipulation.

This club has on more than a few occasions stripped away at my sanity and I have left it for 50 page intervals. That's the past though. I have a renewed sense of commitment to this club and I feel more obligated than ever to make this club appear more professional.

I must say, your skills are amazing and this club has not seen a decent flash artist since Dekathos.

Roffle, convenient how Starks managed to entirely avoid Wonko's post, aye?

Well, it has already been established that the requirement will be raised to 10 no matter what happens.

Trivia has already agreed to that.

The 10 anime requirement is now official.

Rule 1 of the anime club shall now read as follows...

1. To join the NG Anime Club, you must post your 10 favorite anime (manga is also acceptable), a character to represent you and the anime (or manga) that character is from. You must make sure that the character you choose is not taken by looking for it on this page. The requirements for admission to this club are subject to review and can be changed.

Yes Hentai and nime are the same. It's just Hentai is adult anime.

However Doujinshi means - fancomics. so no they are not offically concidered manga.

!. No, they are 2 different catagories.
2.Probably not.

Its been a while scince ive gotten my last manga.... damn summer reading always getting in my way. To think, all the time i spent reading some crappy book, i could have completed negima season 1.

Speaking of which, armageddon_keyblade thinks that negi's name is pronounced the same way as negi's name in naruto.... i however know differently.... considering the fact that they are 2 totally different names. I think its pronounced the way its spelled..... negi, because it (a.)makes sense and (b) thats how they pronounce it in the japanese version of the anime.

You're getting too technical here...

Doujinshi can be manga-style, but manga in its truest sense must be drawn by a professional mangaka.
