Are there any more connections like this?
Well, Senor Trivia, you've asked the million dollar question.
***GASP! IT'S TEH TEH TEH MEGA SPOILERS! OH NOES! LOOK AWAY!***
- King Yama is in fact mentioned in both YYH and DBZ, but seems to be much more of a powerful figure in YYH than DBZ. I have a feeling that King Yama (or Yemma, as I once heard it said) is another figure from Japanese mythology.
- Ever notice how Lina keeps getting bitchy about being flat as a board, but she seems to fill out quite a bit throughout the series? I heard that that was a joke at Ranma 1/2's expense, referring to how the girl Ranma's chest changed size each time Ranma turned into the girl form.
- While not truly an inter-series reference, I've come to the conclusion that Naga from the Slayers movies and OAVs is the sister of Amelia from the series. I've seen many reasons to believe this; 1) In one episode of the series, Lina gives a Naga-esque laugh, and Amelia asks her not to do it again because, as she put it, it reminded her of her sister. 2) During one episode of the first Slayers series, Naga (or somebody dressed just like her) walks by, and Amelia does a double take. 3) Amelia and Naga NEVER MEET. I heard that they're both in one of the Slayers movies, but I also heard that Naga's appearance was just a cameo, and due to the shortness of her stay she never had a chance to see Amelia.
- Ever notice how Ryu's stance in the Street Fighter II anime when he does the Hadouken looks ODDLY SIMILAR to a certain spiky-haired guy's signature move from Dragonball Z?
- In both Gokudo and Inuyasha, there is a character named Miroku. The Inuyasha version is a Buddhist monk, and the Gokudo version is some kind of spirit whose release would cause the world to change drastically (not being cryptic to avoid giving it away, but rather because I don't remember what the release meant)
- Look at Dai-Guard and Evangelion. In Dai-Guard, the protagonists have to use a massive robot to combat equally massive monsters formed from the elements. In Evangelion, the protagonists use giant robots (more or less) to combat equally massive monsters formed from who knows what. HMMMM, METHINKS ME SEES A COINCIDENCE.
- Another one that's not quite a inter-series one, but kinda is. Anyone who saw the final few episodes of Zoids remembers seeing Cloud and the Liger Zero fighting Vega Obscura and the Berserk Fury, but do you remember what they were fighting next to? It was the finish line for the event, a gigantic dead Zoid. If you look closely at it, you can tell that it is the exact same Zoid as the "flying fortress" Zoid in the lake in Zoids: Chaotic Century. You know, the one that all the survivors rush into after Hiltz gets the DeathStinger? While we're on the subject, the three Zoids that the BackDraft group sent to stop Vega are the same type as Raven's second Zoid, the GenoSoarer.
