Just talk about stuff that maybe doesn't merit its own thread in the forums.

Actually I found it fairly entertaining. Also I'd like to see you show the initiative to make a game like that.

Hmm....It was...ok at best. I mean its cool that it didn't use actionscript, but the game still sucked.

I don't think Bezman's intention was to make a Flash game that would forever change the face of Flash development. I think the idea was that he was making a game to prove a point.

He certainly proved one. I'd never have thought it possible to make something like that.

Sad news.

Mam came in just a few minutes ago, my brother found out last night from a friend that one of his friends was killed in a car crash on saturday at a roundabout, killed instantly. He was actually boyfriend of one his friends, but he was friends with him aswell. Father of two. Only 22.

RE: Delta

Sorry about your friend (your brothers friend whatever). I remember when one of my cousins was killed in a car accident last year its such a sobering punch to the gut. I know death is inevitable and all that but somehow no matter how many times you are dealt with someone elses death you can never get used to the idea. bleh.

Thats what I was thinking. I never thought of rollover buttons.

Sorry to hear that Delta :(

I do not wish to get into the subject of death at the moment.

Nor I. A guy I knew all the way through high-school got killed in a car accident three or so years ago. It's not something I can really vocalise feelings about, but I'm really sorry in any case.

Sorry to hear that Delta. I had a friend who got hit by a car last year and became paralyzed, and that was shocking enough. I can't imagine completely losing a friend.

Switching Subjects --> Earth Day

As many of you may or may not know today is earth day, is there anyone who is conciously environmental friendly and all that jazz?

I guess I'm mildly concious.... I usually only buy my groceries in paper bags and i dont shower everyday... all for the environment i swear! lmao.

The environment kind of annoys me :P Don't get me wrong - I'm all for stopping global warming and shizzle - I just wish it could be done without all of the massive bullshit to go with it.

I didn't even know it was earth day today to be frank. I guess it's not that big over here. I'd say I'm a little conscious as well. Just little stuff like separating the garbage, turning of the heater when the windows are open, closing doors, not spilling too much water etc. etc. The little things add up right :)?

Until the we colonize mars we have to save the Earth. Where else can we drink delicious ice tea when the earth is destroyed?

Earth Day
- I will usually pick up garbage if it's sitting around on the ground and I make sure to recycle everything that can be recycled. I hate when people give me dirty looks though when I pick up a candy wrapper off the street and stuff it in a garbage can, I don't know why people find it so odd.

- I also make sure to seafood that is considered safe for human consumption and for the environment. Half the fish on menus are classified as overfished or caught in destructive ways so I eat only fish that are on the good list.

- I ride my bike so that earns me points too I think.

- I make global warming animations nearly every year.

Earth Day

Coincidentally I was just watching An Inconvenient Truth. Just part of it, but what I saw was pretty eye-opening/shocking. As for what I do, I make sure to recycle, carpool in to work (will be biking soon), and make sure to turn any lights off that are left on. Also, our family grocery shops with reusable fabric grocery bags instead of getting plastic.

In my area, and probably most of England, we have a medium sized dustbin for waste, a large bin for recycling and another slightly smaller one for garden waste. It all works out very well and because it's illegal to overflow your bin here (recent news, guy was given criminal record for it ^^), it encourages use of the others.

But in general, because my dad is tight on money, we use gas and electricity to the minimum, so really, I just do it subconsciously.

Earth Day

- I hardly get lifts off parents/other peoples parents now days. I either walk, skate, cycle or if nessecary I will get the bus/train.
- I recycle a lot.
- I do pick stuff up when its like on the way to school and its in the field I cross. If theres a plastic bag I will pick it up and either stuff it in my pocket or if thats not possibly at least hang it up on a tree so its not on the floor for an animal to go in to and hopefully someone else will notice it.

Thats about it. But if you guys think of any more little ways to help the environment feel free to suggest them :D

Response to The Flash 'Reg' Lounge 2008-04-22 16:02:22

If you liked 'An Inconvenient Truth' you should also watch 'Earth' to see what you're actually trying to save. Now that's a documentary with some kick-ass footage.
