That thing is pretty cool, but it's weird checking out the old NG designs to me, just doesn't look right anymore.
HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!

Isn't it ironic how the original 'Mastermind' on the frontpage suddenly got 100k more views in 2 days (in contrast with the 60k it used to have) after the icon changed from a well drawn guy into a couple of tits. Something i noticed before with mediocre submissions like http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/25 6055 or http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/14 9079 or http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/34 2208
Seriously, it doesn't matter if the animation is porn or hentai, but as long as your icon is a pair of tits you'll get over a million views on here... Interesting...

It's funny you bring that up... that was actually our little social experiment over the weekend..
Tom originally suggested to swain to use the tits as the icon when he first made mastermind 1.... Swain chose not to because it might defeat the punchline of the gag... but for the sake of kicks Tom replaced the icon ... threw it on the front page and we were looking at if the views would climb dramatically.

Probably wasn't too hard to predict what would happen, was it?

In a half hour it jumped 4,000. Then later on in the night it was over 16,000+ views.
Just goes to show what NG members are looking for these days...
Boxes of Peni-corns in the office basement...each box contains 120 of them.
Swain and April in the front, there.

Hehe, I like this one:
Concerned parents try to ban the site the first time round.
The text-based games are remarkably well-preserved.

lol Tom looks so rugged with his facial hair. Not to mention, he looks older as well.
I feel bad
So I was just looking through the armorblog and saw a post on AS3 being not quite as fast as Adobe promised. I've been using AS3 at work for a while now, and I know for a fact that in a lot of cases, AS3 is at least 10x faster than AS2.
Anyway, the guy's results were completely miss-interpreted, so I posted a few replies saying as much, in a pretty harsh way I guess.
Then I realised its Tony, aka The-EXP, who I'd met back in London last year. Now I feel bad about being harsh :(
Sorry Tony!

What did Adobe promise? I am curious about that... I've always been on the wall about switching over or not.
Hi there!

It's ok you wear girl's clothing man, nothing to be embarrassed about, we still love you the way you are

I don't think you were harsh at all.

You didn't come across as being that harsh :P Maybe we're all just too used to seeing critique from adolescent American kids, but for a harsh destruction of someone's theory you came across as being quite lovely :)
Besides, nobody should really object to being argued against in an honest and sensible way, especially when it's in all of our interests to learn how to work as efficiently as possible when it comes to coding stuff.
Is it me or does Mr.Fulp in that picture look like a pimp, i think its because of his jacket.

Pro. Animation
So I showed a professional animator Webcamoose! and he said he'd hire me for any 2D character animation if he ever needed it. Cool or what? I'm working on a 30 second demo reel to send him.
(I'm only telling you this so that I can post my hilarious joke; I quoted too much)
wow congrats
tom's beard and mastermind
Why didn't you tell him that he looks like a terrorist that way ?
Now i am going to watch mastermind...

So then you have the red patent pumps to go with it, I assume.
Compooter
I got lucky. I managed to pull of the AFD6 main fla and the Menu fla. Those are both safely on my drive.
Anything else... we'll find out.

You freaking jerk, Tony's a great guy and you really hurt his feelings there. He just MSN'd me saying how he doesn't want to work on flash anymore because of your comments, and said he'll be getting a job at the local starbucks.
You ruined his life. He's probably crying in a cold shower right now.
Needless to say I just went and criticized his blog post too.

Coffee
I've started drinking coffee on a more frequent basis, and I find my alertness quite startling. Anyone here a coffee drinker? NO frappacinos don't count.

I don;t drink it regularly, but a few years ago I taught myself to like it anyway (no sugar, but a lot of cream). I drink decaf when I do, so only for the taste.
I drink caffeinated stuff on purpose only every once and a while. If you gain a dependence for it, that isn't good. But it tastes good so I do drink it on occasion.
