I also say, even though I don't drink, the 21 drinking age is ridiculously stupid. Along with the whole "marijuana is illegal" thing (even though I've never smoked pot).

It's the whole mentality of "It's not allowed so I'm going to do it" that causes so many people to drink and smoke at young ages in the first place. They think they're being hardcore by disobeying the law.

If they made marijuana legal, then they could regulate it and tax it, providing income for the government and essentially cheapen the price of it cause there'd be a lot less risk involved in getting it. It'd be in everyone's favor to legalize it.

But seriously, other countries have low drinking ages, and they turn out fine. Most underage people who want to drink here find a way to anyway, there's no reason to keep it at 21.

Marijuana Legalization
It's really a topic that has to be discussed in depth. There are good sides definitely to them legalizing it, but there are also huge downsides to having it be legalized. You might think that legalizing it would make the rate drop, but I bet you would probably be wrong. It's not totally a mental thing. Think about how many people would just be high all day because they're allowed to. CriminalDuder would leave the Forums and go live in a fucking bong for Christ's sake. It's a touchy topic and I think you would need to go really in depth with studies to be able to debate.

The man knows me. ^^

Well if any of you have been to the Neitherlands (GO DUTCH! WOOT!) you can see yourself the results of legalization of it. For sure some good points are that some poeple can make good money selling it in their stores and it'll be easy to get different types as they can sell different types at the store.
The bad for sure is how dang expensive they'd sell it in the store compared to how much non-laced stuff is on the street these days.

Seriously though I think the best thing is what hemp can be used for. If we made clothing out of hemp instead of cotton our clothing would be stronger, softer, and less wrinkly. Hemp shirts are awesome.
For medical purposes... well I'm afriad even though their's lot's of controversy about this I'm going to vote yes for this one as well. Now it's true some poeple would just fake or want it to get high. But I know some poeple with mental problems and I myself have my far share of 'em and smoking weed really does help. Got bipolar disorder? No problem! Have a joint and you'll be 98% in control of your emotions and much more calmer! ^^

Also let us not forget the results of
drug testing on spiders. ^^

Seriously serious now. I can admit I am a stoner(I'm NG's Cheech and Chong in one man!) and their are many good and many bad things about the legalization of weed but whatever happens I'll never leave NG and the forums cause I enjoy it. (Though when I have lots of work to do it sucks having to take time off of NG to work.)

Now then for futher reading into this I suggest this artical. Scroll down to Richard Lawrence Miller's part. I think he tells it all like it is.

In all of my studies, I concluded that the "war on drugs" masked a war on democracy.

Mexico leglized all drugs but Kettamine and there crime droped to %30 of what it once was.
Also now in the prisons the majority of the people feel like they are there for a reason, that hasnt been that was in the USA since 1910.

I'd bet no more people do it then do now, it's not even something people really get busted for. At this point it's basically legal, I could be stoned 24/7 if I so chose without absolutely no legal repurcussions as long as I wasn't being an idiot about it.
I'm not sure about your areas but here if they have no reason to believe you are selling it generally just gets taken and they take you to your house.
And I would bet that a very small number do it to think they are "hardcore" people might smoke once if that's how they felt, but you go back to it because it's fun.

The only problem I'd have with legalization is that it would turn into a cash crop, and I'm sure quality would suffer as a result. Think of all the mom and pop growers that would go out of business.

My opinion on legalization is that it could only benefit the government, but either way it doesn't really matter, people will still smoke regardless of whether or not its legal.

I'm cool now... Right guys?... Guys?

Yes, yes, yes and YES!!!

I could not agree with you more. I can't stand meaningless tribal or Chinese symbol tattoos. It seems every other twat with a "rad" attitude gets a dragon or something on their forearm. No thanks.

I absolutely LOVE the art form and I could not agree more that I would only ever get a tat of something I created and had a personal timeless meaning to it. Like yourself, I have not yet found something I've liked enough to get it permanently stenciled onto my body.

Apparently getting tattoos is really addictive also. It seems people get one...then get another, and before too long they turn into this bro.

I remember you talkin' 'bout this before. I've always wanted to design a tattoo of my own too but it's difficult so I can see where your coming from. Myself being a tattoo artist I've thought of as I could probably be an apprentice one at the local place in my parts.

Why not just get a tattoo of the NG Tank or somethin' NG-ish Luis? NG must mean a lot to you so yeah. You could probably whip up your own version of the NG tank with a lil' you driving instead or somethin'. :P

The tat I got now is an Eagle which is the same eagle on an ol' necklace my ol' man had before he passed away. I got a dragon lady tat in mind to symbolize me and my one bros bond. I also want a crow on my upper back with wings open to remind me 'bout my "dark" past so to speak.
But yeah main point is whatever tat ya get, as long as it has meaning to you it's good.

Maybe I'll let you give me a TANKMAN tat on my arse one day. :3

Also, Luis man enouph talk about how disappointed ya parents are 'bout ya. Look 'round dude. Ya got a bunch of kids idolizing you, a shitload of cool points, and you really have made an impact on NG. ^^

I'm being too nice lately... I'm going to go find a baby to shit-kick now.

While we are on the topic of tattoos, check out what Corporal Kenneth McClure of the US marines got on his back after Mindchamber redesigned it for him.

In my opinion, probably one of the biggest forms of flattery an artist could get.

I was told this morning that one of my best friends from elementary school got killed in a car crash. I hadn't spoken or even seen the guy for years, but sometimes you just wonder what former classmates are doing, where they live etc. He would have been a guy I'd be happy to talk to during a reunion, catch up on what he's been doing the past years. Not anymore I guess. It must be hard for people to lose their loved ones during the holiday season, I wonder if you can celebrate Christmas the way you used to ever again... I know I'll be more careful in traffic from now on, getting killed in a car crash without being able to have any influence on the outcome is a shitty way to go.

Depends on the person really... though ever since my ol' man passed away every holiday just seems emptier and emptier... always losing it's importance. Basically it feels like all the great and positive feels about it turns negative. It hits ya real hard the first time.

If i didn't study architecture i would've probably become a dentist. I studied it for 1 year but i just felt there was a creative component missing in the study even though i really liked the social nature (and prospected salary) of it.

Probably nothing. I didn't have much hobbies besides doodling a lot, before flash. Once I discovered Flash, I really decided Art was something I wanted to do and started becoming a bit more serious and doing more than just doodles, in and out of a computer.

I still consider doing things like acting and writing. Guess I'm more artsy.

If I decided to not go into a field of computer science/game programming, my 2nd choice (besides just sticking with flash design and websites forever) would be getting a masters or PHD in mathematics.

Which really, what type of job COULD you get with a mathematics degree that isn't a teacher/professor (I suck at teaching)?

But math is fun, and so is physics.

When he's not working at 7/11 or doing army stuff he's at my house on my PS3, sleeping on my bed, etc. etc. He's a cool dude though. If you want to know about his board just ask him. His NG profile is MTCaptain I'm sure he'll answe any questions he has for ya.

Anyone else ever have that before though? A friend that constantly comes over so much they almost live there. Like they're always eating breakfest, lunch, and dinner there... sleeping over, and only seeming to leave for work.

Hentai

I accept that it isn't causing any direct grief, but the fascination with prepubescent girls in hentai seems a little disturbing. Just seems to me that overexposure to any such thing can become a worm in your mind and mess you up.

Whilst no-one likes getting hair in their food, or pubes between their teeth, it was pointed out that the general predisposition for hairless women seems like we hold features of prepubesence as ideals and that's something that I find ever-so-slightly concerning.

With regards to hentai on NG, I don't care too much, as long as it's clearly marked.

best/worst
Best - either the London meet or cycling to London the week before the Heathrow camp.
Worst - either the current sloooooow progression of the collab I set up (if NG-related) or the fact that I wimped out and hid away for a while. Here's to a better 2008.

Other jobs
I'd be a teacher. Actually, that's why I returned to study after having run away from the programming course - I want to teach English abroad at least for a while and need a degree to do so. If I'd known you can't get a work visa without one, I'd have played my life differently, but oh well. No restarts allowed.

tattoos

Girl I know got a tattoo saying 'Ja-ne' in hiragana. Obviously her name's 'Jane', but a) they used the wrong script and b) it's pronounced 'Ja-neh'. Most meaningful tattoo I've seen is one celebrating a newly-born son.

I don't see a reason to diss decorative tats though - if you're gonna wait for a symbol to 'sum up who you are' or whatever, chances are it won't arrive. Ultimately, it is just a decoration and so I see no problem with a bit of tribal design, vacuous as it may be.

If you want a really 'meaningful' mark on your body, you've gotta get a scar, get burnt, stabbed or whatever! then you've got a better story to tell than a little commentary on a piece of art.
