I dont think my tattoo will like be super symbolic or anything... its just simply important to me for me to have come up with the design.. it doesnt necessarily need to tell my life story or my time in the front lines at Nam.. it just needs to have come from my mind. and based on a sketch that i've made.

Textures in Flash

I've been messing around with textures a lot with the animation I'm working on right now. I was wondering how it affects the filesize. I have 4 different bitmaps that I plan to combine with each other to create lot's of different surfaces, I wondered if the filesize shoots up every time I use the bitmaps as a fill, or does it simply load them once so it wouldn't be a very big problem with larger movies? I don't know how to write it more clearly, sorry.

Anyway, here it is, it's already 600 kbs... What do you think?

well i animated an explosion it is important to say tool 10 minutes was done fbf and with no tutorial..well it ain't best and there is some frames that are wrong my big sister corrected them she is a good artist and is pretty talented in animation
she learned some 3d in high school and did some really cool things with a program that is now dead..well here it is

Dang good. I love the brick housing and the tree looks awesome. Is that smoke a partical effect or somethin' done in as2 or as3 or is it FPF?

I use bitmaps to add texture to walls, roads, and etc lately too. I think your right about how it just loads once...

Agreed. Plus you can screw around with the code a bit and change the puff of smokes shape so you can turn this into fog, steam, smog, smoke from smokes, and other gas-like junk.

There're probably better ways to do it than that exact example, though. For a start you could cut down on library size by just using sine to plot the smoke's motion instead of that shape tween, and could probably draw the smoke with script as well.
