RE: NG Interviews
I still think John's idea is a good one though.. i mean in the art forum people have their own art threads, i dont see why we cant have threads devoted to one user in the form of an interview here... it may be a good tool for people getting acquainted with what their fellow actionscripters and animators are really good at. To inspire working together which is like Tom's big thing in 2008 it seems.

That sounds really good to me. I'd love to see more interviews. I really enjoy reading Luis's interviews on his website.
Winter Plans
A few pages back i wrote about the jib park my friends and I are building. It finally snowed today and we got to use it on our snowboards rather than a mountain board. It has a rail, a kicker, and a manual platform thingy plus some other features off to the sides that you can't really see in this photo. We're working on some really neat stuff made out of trees as well. We also bought some halogen lights so we can keep going even after it gets dark out. It's mad hard to get good photos while its snowing and trying to keep my camera dry and at night.... This is one from close to the top of the slope.

Well, that's because the threads in the art section are an ongoing portfoilio of a person's artwork, whereas this is a one-and-done, WHAM-BAM-THANKYOU-MAM deal (the interviews, not Tom).
So, it logically makes sense to wait a bit.
I won't lie, I always wanted to interview someone :P Better yet, be interviewed. The closest I got, however, was a minute or so piece I did for our NGC podcast back when it wasn't gay/dead/whatever it is now.

Looking back...
Anyone feeling uninspired or down on their art? I was for a bit as looking through this years sketchbooks I wasn't seeing to much improvement. I love looking back and seeing growth but either it was so subtle or hasn't happened much I couldn't see it.
Anyone feeling this way should look back to work down a year or two ago and compare. It's pretty cool to see how far you've come with a noticable difference.
If art forums get personal art threads we should start making our own animation/as threads. Sure they won't be updated as much but it's not exactly hard just to let it sink down. As a way to showcase tests character designs animatics that sort of thing.
I'm probably going to buy myself a scanner as I'm startin to feel it's totally worth it. I want to try my hand at traditional animation. I figure if I put a piece of plexiglass balanced between my desk and nightstand with a lamp underneat that would work for a makeshift light table.

BR was going to interview me last sunday but unfortunately i missed the appointment on MSN. I think he will send the question to my NG Inbox now so i can take my time to answer them thoroughly.
Regarding NGMAG, this is what Tom Fulp wrote after my recent news post:
NGMag needs a lot of sorting out right now... I want to get that in the works once the new store launches. Got so many big plans for it, though.
Guess that clears things up. I don't really see a need to post seperate interview threads in the flash forum. I think the interviews on Luis's website are covering it more than enough.

Yeah, often when I do look back on things, even if they're only a few months old, all I can see are flaws. Sometimes I have to rip/cut/tear/shred it up because it sucks so much. I have no idea how I could have ever been satisfied with it at the time. If I'm not in a bad mood (rare) I'll Gesso it over and reuse the canvas. I've regretted destroying some things because I was upset about something else, but what's done is done. Meh.
This sig is 100% effective protection from all hexes, curses, evil spirits and bad karma. Guaranteed.
iPhone
I've had a Razr for a number of years and while they always seem to have their little problems, I really do love them. But, my latest problem with my last one is just stupid.
It won't charge. I thought it was my charger freakin', so I used a friends charger and it still wouldn't charge. it wouldn't even register it as being plugged in. I came to the conclusion it was a hardware issue but I kept it plugged in all night to see if it would register and start charging. It didn't and now I can't even turn it on. Meh.
So my father has an iPhone and I was playing around with it today. it's pretty cool, he thinks I should get one but I'm debated whether or not I'd be using the $400 to it's fullest potential. Having email with me all the time would be GREAT, and the internet works surprisingly well. NG was able to load in about 10 seconds or so, not to bad at all for a phone.
Do any of you have the iPhone or have any opinions about it? It seems to me that people either love it or hate it...so I'm in debate. Let me know what you thinks.
Yea the iPhone looks pretty cool. A couple of my Friends have it, I like the touch screen :D. I've never heard of a charging problem though, that's very odd. I remember though, I had the problem with my iPod. To fix my iPod all I did was let it die all the way then I plugged in the charger and then it charged, I guess that won't work for you though...

I have one. I bought it after my Chocolate phone failed me miserably, and the past two before that.
The Iphone wins because it works like you think it should. It really is a miraculous feeling, especially for cell phones being incredibly cryptic and insane... trying to do tons of functions with just 10 buttons.
It's expensive, but for me, it was worth it. I live in LA and the live traffic updates are fantastic. Google maps has saved my butt a few times too. The address book and calendar are seamless with my Mac. It's basically a PDA+phone+ipod, and it actually somehow all works. And having the internet from anywhere is amazing.
I say get it, but only if you are going to use all the features. For me, I'll use all the features every day. But if you hate music or have no need for weather and traffic, definitely think about getting another phone. $400 is a lot to drop.
Hi there!
I have an old nokia cell phone, and it has never broken, ever since I've owned it.

Nokia phones are super durable. I have a really old one that i use to play snake every now and then. When i actually used it, i never even called anyone because of snake. That game is crazy addictive. I have a sidekick 3 they are fragile. :C

Happens to me alllll the time. I can't stand to see drawings that I'm not satisfied with. In my sketchbooks there are loads of pages covered in gesso and repainted on. When I talked to a dean of admissions for a college I'm applying to, he asked why I had done that... I just said I don't know.
I fed my nokia phone through a paper shredder and it still worked. True story.
Cell phounes.
I have one of 'em teles shiney ones that have that "test message" and a bunch of other stuff I still don't get too well. I think it's pretty cool though. Wish I had the thing for the chip inside to transfer all the pics and vids on it to my computer.
Anyway the cells awesome for a clear obvious reason... Pice. :3
:Though that pic was taken a few months ago and it's worn out/faded to the shit. The stickers inside the house on my computer, door, and etc. still look new though.

I'm still a bit skeptic about the i phone. It's supposed to be the PDA + phone + Ipod combination, but in my opinion it isn't really managing to be any of these things. As a PDA, the outdated EDGE system makes it pretty horrible for fast internet browsing. I'd rather use a blackberry as a tool to surf on the web and to organize things. As a phone it's way too expensive and big. It probably functions nicely as an i-pod but then again it's simply too much money. You can almost buy a good laptop for that price
Sorry about this, buts its urgent. Could someone who has cs3 convert this file down to a flash 8 document please. I'd be very, very, very grateful.

and by urgent i mean, next 30 mins :(.

The lack of good-looking, free Flash components saddens me. I'm in the middle of designing my website but the standard scrollbar kind of ruins it. Of course I can modify the existing one, but that isn't really user friendly either, nor do I have the knowledge to make my own...

I think the scrollable window flash component complicates that functionality.. i think you have more control and find it easier to dissect just find a tutorial or source file of a non fancy scroll bar functionality. I remember customizing the flash compenent version back in the days when i had my all flash site and i agree its a pain in the assss.

Just now, I thought on why didn't they make Luis Day on Cinco De Mayo ? That would of been original. Hahh.

ahh that looks like a gnar spot, I'd love to sesh with you.
My snow right now is all hard and lame so I can't make really good setups.
I think it's supposed to snow tomorrow, if it does I'll post some pics of my incredibly sketchy setups haha.
I usually snowskate though, it's mad fun. WAY too lazy to put my snowboard on and off.
Plus it's nice to do 360 shuvits or other crap.
