I have an issue with my mac - can't use .exe files. I only mention this since you two seem to be devout mac users and will hopefully correct me.
Check it out. Mac uses that kind of file format for executables, unlike the .exe extension that Windows often uses. Most operating systems have their own file format for executables, and aren't compatible with others.
I thought .dmg was the mac equivalent.
Anyway, my issue isn't simply that OSX has its own seperate formats. I'd just like it to be able to open .exe files too without installing windows onto my mac. Thanks, I suppose, to Windows' ubiquity, .exe files are used for so much. When a friend e-mails me from EA and says, 'Hey! Check this game that we were all playing at work! The boss says they're thinking about talking to this guy it's so awesome and original - you MUST PLAY IT!' and I simply can't, that's a bit annoying.
Ironically, the guy in question only uses Windows at work.
