Depression
Once my uncle died I started to question god and if he really existed. It was a very hard time for me and it got to the point where I didn't care about anything anymore. I started getting into lots of trouble at school, my grades were slipping, I was just so depressed. My mom eventually got me back to normal and everything was fine.

RE: Depre

I think sometimes you just need a cool off period... i was in a same kind of funk ... gay as it seems you just need to come in terms with things and accept that you are sad and that its okay but see it as a temporary 'mourning' with the intent that you do plan to get back up.. i think when you are realistic about your feelings its easier to put a timeframe on them and see beyond your cloudy days... i dunno it worked for me.. im no Dr Phil tho!

Yay fixed textbox

The characters remaining bar only updates once every 2-3 seconds now, so it's still effective, but now it just runs a lot quicker. It makes my life a lot easier.

I'm going through a depressive period where I just think too much about bad things, and they cloud my mind. I haven't worked on much flash in a while because of it. I'm probably going to go on an antidepressant like Zoloft. Any of you ever gone through periods where you just think too much and it puts you down?

Called hormones, we all have them, theres nothing wrong with being sad for a week or two, there's more than likely nothing wrong with you and you more than likely don't need medication.

Of course therea re some people who legit have depression but odds are being sad for a bit doesn't mean you need to be medicated

I went through a depression stage simply because I thought I was crap at everything and I was too hard on myself and expected more from myself than I could do... I was put on a diet and that really helped... even though I was not fat, a diet helped me get back into normal and now, I'm much more energetic and healthy.

Depression

Thats how I feel most of the time ShortMonkey. I'll look at any art or just about anything I do and I'll think I'm crap at it. I get depressed about a lot of shit though, but I try not to let it get to me.

Seriously, in the morning, fry up an egg or two, put them on some buttered toast... maybe slice some tomato and lettuce... I sometimes have cooked bacon or ham as well. It's much healthier and taste a lot better than what I usually have.

If we're bringing up the issue of health that would be a killer amount of fat and cholesterol, if you do that more than 3 times a week I'd only leave the yolks in once as it's either one or two egg yolks a week. And bacon is basically just fried fat, and with the butter that's a double hit on your cholesterol. The only thing in there that's heathly on a regular basis is tomato and lettuce. Not to be a total bitch but just gotta point that out.

But short is right in that eating well makes you happpier so does ample sleep. I don't know but whenever I get depressed I like to go hang out with my friends from other schools friends, it's like a break from your own life without having that feeling you need to be around people. I've always found my level happyness to vary in the seasons too, I'm significantly less lively during the winter.... Brought it up with the doctor at one point out of curiousity its called seasonal depression and its due to a lack of vitamin d (or something) obsorbed through the skin that causes like a decrease of serotonin? don't quote me on that. I asked a year or two ago, alot of people get it... could be that I suppose? has it been sunny these past few weeks in your area?

Depression
Seeing how I live in a crapshack, can barely afford food, been cheated out of my money, been raped, been abused, been lied to, betrayed, fucked around with, etc. etc etc. etc...
I can cover up my feelings pretty well with my cheery attitude and emotocon things. ^__^

The trick for me is to never think 'bout crap and keep on smilin' XD

Beer helps too...

as sad as it sounds i was recently depressed about having too many friends, i didnt really have any best friends. then i met up again with some old best friends i had and im happy again, but since we go to different schools i dont see them much.

I'm the opposite. I have hardly any friends but I like it that way. After school I just go home, press play on iTunes, and draw/paint for the rest of the day with no distractions. Lately though I've been coming home and going right to sleep because I can't fricken get to sleep till 4 am i don't know why I guess I'm just fucked up. Anyway, friends just make things too unnecessarily complicated. I have a few good friends who are also my band mates and that's enough for me. If I feel like socializing I'll just hang out with them and their friends.

..::depression::..

Hey, here's a topic I know something about! Awesome... a lil' late to the party, but what the Hell?

Being depressed for a few weeks due to something tragic or embarrassing in your life is normal. Being depressed for all of your conscious life is Hell, it really is. I've been there and it has shown me many different facets of my own being.

Just be careful if you're being prescribed something and you're still young (any age before your mid twenties). Anti-depressants can actually worsen symptoms in youths and make them suicidal or worse. Your pharmacist should tell you about that, but through my experiences I've learned that pharmacists are far from perfect on telling you essential things like side effects, dosing, if you should take it after a meal or not, what it actually does, how it may interact with other medicine or supplements you may be taking... read the papers they give you with your pills.

Serious depression is a massive problem and it can take a lifetime to conquer.

Israel Palestine

I hope the title doesn't start an arguement but I thought this was kind of funny. So we have these occasional special guest things where they bring in people from conflicts around the world so they brough 4 people from palestine and 4 people from Israel, hillarity ensues correct?
no...
they just sat their and agreed with eachother then modified what the other had said, why on earth would they not bring in the two extremes of each issue to make it interesting rather than neutrals from both sides who just agree with eachother... seems so silly.

Because I'm pretty sure this is how most people feel about the situation. Most people there would probably agree that the Palastinians deserve thier own state, just like it was decided in the UN in 1947, and they probably also agree that Hamas shouldn't keep shooting rockets over the border. It just happens there's still a LOT of bad blood over the situation, which the country will probably take a few centuries to totally overcome.

Bearing in mind the actual state itself is less than sixty years old, and that the history of bloodshed in that little area of the world goes back two millenia, I doubt the Holy Land will ever come to peace.

Depression
I dont so much get depressed, as in i hate my life. I just get really down if i cant do something, like art. If i see someone thats really good at art and i try and do it, it usally looks like a five year old can do it and that really, really, really annoys me. I know someone back a page said something similar. So i just try and improve until i can do what i set out to do.

Hey, anyone else having some random problems where like once every while the little black line which shows where you are typing is gone in the NG Post box. It's really weird, I can't see where I'm typing. AHHHH!

I get that sometimes (not now though... odd). Its really annoying.

Reg Collab

I think the reason why everyone flaked was because you had to create something that was your parteners idea, which you really cant have as much enthusiasm for as you would with your own idea. The 4 second things were much smaller, and your own idea, and so people could get them done a lot quicker and easier. Any chance there could be another one? Please?

My text cursor line has now dissapeared... even odder.

Munny
Those things scare me man. I always feel like they're goin' to kill me in my sleep. I've never gotten one myself but, I've seen a few at friends houses before. Maybe I'll get one for kicks sometime if I get the cash. Till then I'll sleep peacefully.

Also: Me and my friend Darryl found this awesome pizza place with funky pictures on the wall, music, and weird furniture. I don't usually eat pizza because I've never found one I like however... their vegitarian pizza is awesome!
We waited infront of the place this morning for it to open. We felt like Jay & Silent Bob. :)

CHOCOLATE CRAVING!!!

I went to safeway to do some shopping today. (Hurray orphan fund!) Anyway I got some cheese, milk, KD, Mr.Noodles, and the usual. But when I was in line I got a sudden... HUGE chocolate craving. I got 4 Caramilk chunkys, 2 6 inch Kit Kat chunkys, 2 normal Kit Kats, some white chocolate thing, some hazel nut thing, and an toostyroll.
I feel like a pig devouring most of them. I got 2 caremilks left in the fridge with the white chocolate....

Actually right now I'm slowly trying to quit pot and smoking cigars. I've also been looking at houses up for rent as me and the guyz are plannin' to move out this summer and all kinda be roomies. I'll worry about an actual job come graduation.
I'm also checking my email continues only to hear bad news about sponsorship deals. Seems everyones holding a contest or somethin' and can't sponsor anything at the moment. :( This 24th if I got no deals period I'll just upload my games anyway. :P

I know the feeling XD. It took me a long time to find a sponsor for my newest game, but when someone turns you down, ask the sponsor about other websites that may be willing to sponsor it. Your game must be worth something, because if they thought you were crap they wouldn't bother to respond.

Also, try http://www.dabontv.com, if you haven't already. It took me a month to find a sponsor for my game; don't give up just yet.

Kid Robot
I'm actually helping them with some sweater designs at the moment. When I get some in, I'll show you guys and you can comment on what I've got. Anyways, I'm thinking of getting a munny, it would be pretty damn cool. GO OUT AND GET MUNNY's...THEY'RE AWESOME!

Grindhouse
Planet Terror

I don't really know how it is that I can describe how sick, yet strangely awesome this movie was. You know, the whole zombies thing was really cool, and all the shooting, killing, and random shit, but the one thing that just finished me was when the guy who played Sayid on LOST, brought out his sack of BALLS! That was absolutely horrid. Definitely recommend this!

Grindhouse
Death Proof

On the other hand, this movie basically blew lots of large cock. Now many of you NGers may think that's good, it REALLY isn't when it comes down to movies. It had it's five or ten minutes moments of course, but other than that, there is really nothing I can say about it that was too much fun to watch. The girls talking was okay for the first fifteen, but then it went on for another like thirty, and happened TWICE! I would recommend the car chase scene though, that was awesome, with all of the different angles and the girl who beats the guys head with a bat! But even though those parts ruled, the movie overall sucked...

Tablet Comp

How I got it back within like three days, no one has any idea, but it's pretty fucking awesome. Anyways, I think that I'm going to have to finish my level icon picture later, and instead, I'll stick to finishing my shirt now. It's pretty cool, I hope to get it on by tomorrow.
