School Starts

It starts on Wednesday for me. I just moved over the summer so I have to go to a new school now. Kinda sucks, I've been in 1 school district my whole life up until now. Oh well, I'll have to get used to it.

2 Years left, looking forward to college or 'Uni' for those brits out there.

Eyes Following Mouse Tutorial
I'm gonna look on google, but does anyone know where that eyes following your mouse tutorial is. I can't seem to find it oddly enough. I looked through AS: Main and the search, but it's nowhere. I just need to know how to make something go to the mouse at a constant distance.

It's geometry, if you have a set distance of 100, and the angle is 45, then you find the two sides by
sin(45) = o/100, sin(45)*100 = o, and cos(45)*100 = a, by the same idea. So you just need to find the distance to the mouse and if it's less then ten x and y = xmouse and ymouse but if it's greater than ten use the other method, don't ask me about degree conversion in flash, i've never gotten it.

Coaly, that made so little sense whatsoever. To everyone else, Its just like trying to find a constant distance that points at the mouse. It's really hard for me though. Maybe I'll try the constant distance tutorial.

for madness day, does anybody know if you have to submit on the 22nd or can you submit it earlier and still be entered in the contest?

The Snow

Us Australians don't get to experience snow that often, as it rarely snows here unless it reeeaaally cold.
We do however have some snow fields that are decent in the snow season which is like June to October, about 5-6 hours drive from where I live called the Snowy Mountains. So as an aussie a snow trip is a huge expensive deal for me.
I just got back from a 3 day stay at the snow and i loved every minute of it. Snowboarding is the best fun ever. Haven't tried skiing yet, and i sorta don't want to cause I wanna keep getting better at it.
I axed myself countless times attempting shit I shouldn't have :P and soon my ass felt like it had been ravaged :S but you quickly get over it when your back to finding sweet lines down the mountain.

lol, I've got a massive backlog of work, including some coursework I was supposed to post which is like three months overdue XD I've also got to read a great big novel and make some detailed notes on Vernon God-Little and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, all by tomorrow, plus I said I'd play badminton today so most of this afternoon's going to be taken. I'm working from the assumption that we'll be doing sod all in the first week in terms of collecting in work.

In Buffalo, NY, It's a miracle if we don't expierence snow 5-6 days out of the week December- Feburary (and sometimes March).

Yeah Cheek, around there you get a lot, I'm around there, so I get a SHITLOAD too. I mean we probably have like maybe 5 or 6 days of school off but yeah, it's really awesome when it does snow. But you guys are on the radio like 99% of the time without school haha. You must lose like a week or two or summer to snow days because of extra school. Yeah but I ski instead of snowboard. Maybe I'll try it.

PHP and Javascript are a lot easier than I thought. I created an entire contact-me thing on my site in a small amount of time, especially as it was my first PHP encounter, and only my third javascript.

i started skiing when i was 4, and when i turned 10 i started snowboarding so:

6 years of skiing, then 6 years of snoboarding

I've been snowboarding 4 or 5 times over the years, i think 4, the last time i went i fell on my front knee so many times I had to stop because it was so bruised. It was either that I just sucked a great deal at snowboarding, or that I was not in shape at all....either way it was balls, but snowboarding is still really fun. Never skied.

You are thinking the city schools. The city schools have closed due to rain before. I'm in a close suburb of Buffalo, Cheektowaga (hence, Cheektoghetto). My old school rarely closed.

The old rule for temperature closings was it had to be -15 F or - 25 F Wind Chill to close.
Well we got a day off for cold, and they were unhappy about it.
So now its -25 F or -40 F wind chill to close.

They were smart about closings this past school year. We had the October Surprise Storm (got on National TV). Most schools were closed for 2 weeks. We closed for 1 and one of the days they used as a staff day, so it wouldn't count as much against us in summer.

And BTW, what general area are you in around WNY. I'm not talking address :P.

Naw, but there's always like "Buffalos getting the heaviest snow and basically they're fucked" broadcasts. I don't know why, but yeah we get some of that. We don't probably get as much snow as you, but definetaly kinda close. I'm hoping for some snow this year haha.

Yeah, you get the snow off of lake Ontario, which actually puts out more snow than Erie does at us, its just all that snow doesn't matter because there are ony a few big towns up there like Watertown and Mexico. Mexico, NY, got 12 feet of snow in a period of 2 weeks this past winter.

But yeah, we always get a couple snowstorms every year. Power goes out, town in panic, state of emergency, blah, blah, blah. It seems like all that would be a big deal, but you get used to it.

Also, I love in Florida how they get an inch of snow and the whole fucking city of Miami shuts down. Floridian pussys. Learn to drive in snow.

But don't you know, in Florida snow is acidic and when you look at it your eyes melt. And touching it is even worse. If you touch it a snowman punches you in the face. Crazy florida snow.

I WRECKED the hell out of a skier last year. He has flying down the hill, and he cut me off really fast. But the nose of my board caught the back of his skis, he caught his edge and flipped like crazy. Nothing happened to me because you turn on your nose anyway, so clipping my front didn't matter. Well, it threw me off a bit, but nothing that I couldn't recover from.

I was at the bottom and the guys skis up to me screaming at me. So instead of screaming back, me and my buddy who was riding with me at the time just walked towards the office. He followed screaming, and when we walked in we went to the front and reported him for reckless skiing.

They took away his pass on spot. I waved and blew him a kiss as me and my buddy walked out.

Hah, that's basically all I do when I ski. I have no skill of any kind, I just bomb straight down the hill. S'good fun :)

I live in the Southern States and do not recieve much snow, Whe I was younger I got to travel once a year to Keystone Colorado to ski. Now I probably have lost any skill that I might have had, I might as well try to pick up snowboarding if i ever get to go again.
