MP3

I like how it shortens to MP3. I think I'm gonna buy it, all reviews are excellent and I think they are better then Twilight. I like the first one, never played the second one.

Got my Desktop fixed and back, but all the programs are gone, so I need to reinstall Flash, Battlefield, WoW, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and some other stuff... I should get started now.

Whoa its me!

Metroid Prime 3

I got it the day it came out, and I have to say... I'm not too impressed. Yeah, I like the controls, and it's great for a wii game, but it still doesn't have that feeling you get when you're playing a classic or something that's going to be a classic. 8/10 in my opionion.

Tired of the gym

I've been getting tired of going to the gym to work out it's to much of a commitment, I can't go there for 10 minutes to get a break from homework like I want so I've decided to buy a weight bench, there's a room that has no windows that has an old tv and some beenbag chairs that I've been cleared to put it in, seeing as its seldom used now that me and my bro don't really play videogames anymore.

Anyone know some versatile ones out there that are under 300 bucks... I could go up to 500 but I'd rather not, Figure I'll just have to look around for an all in one dead weight machine.

lol bowflex and jon basedow

I'm cool now... Right guys?... Guys?

Go on craigslist.org and look up your state/city.. you can usually find some worthwhile equipment there and you wont need to pay heavy shipping costs either.. gym equipment is pretty popular item people get rid of at this time of the year .. summer is over and nobody wants to work out anymore.

ya was doing that people seem pretty into bowflex around the bay area... I don't really see a way to transport without imposing on a friend seeing as we don't own a big car and few of them seem dissasembled.

Kinda was wondering if anyone knew a brand and model a machine thats sturdy and covers most main muscle groups... (for me to go search for used)

I rented metroid prime 1 when it was out, liked it, bought it, then I reached that stupid ice golem boss or whatever it was, couldnt beat it, got stuck, eventually erased it, then time later i tried to play again, but got frustrated, and never played again, i guess i'm not getting more metroids.. :P

Some (legit) Free Programs

I occasionally catch bits of a show called The Lab with Leo on G4TechTV, and what I caught today was a small segment on a free Vector-based image program. I went to the shows site, and found a list of all of the free programs featured in that segment. Some of them seem like they'd be helpful to the folks in here, so here's the list and some highlights.

BTW, I have not personally tried any of these programs yet. I am simply going based on info on that page and the pages of the programs website. Maybe they won't be as good as I think they'll be.

First, this is the list of the programs. Some highlights:

Episode #43 - Snap Backup
Apparently a quick and easy backup utility meant to make backing up important files easier. Every once in a while you hear of someone losing all of their stuff to a harddrive failure, so anything making backups easier and more convenient is nice. It can also save to a USB drive, and it will timestamp the date in the name of the backups, so it's easier to keep track of what was archived when.

Episode #25 - Inkscape
This is the one I saw. It seemed to be able to export to a lot of different formats, but I didn't see that many in the FAQ on their site, so I'll have to check it out later. It's similar to things like Illustrator and such, but I doubt it would mesh with Flash as well. If you're looking for a cheap alternative though, this may be it.

Episode #13 - AoA Audio Extractor
It simply extracts audio from video clips, and converts it to an .mp3, .wav, or .ac3 file based on your preference. Seems like it'd be handy if you want to get a certain sound clip or sound effect. Again, it's completely free.

Episode #51 - Iconoid
Less of a Flash thing, but it's more for those with messy desktops. It provides a bunch of icon customization, including hiding them when the cursor isn't on the desktop, so you can actually see your background picture. Seems nice, if only for aesthetic reasons.

Anyways, I figured the first 3 might be worth checking out. I would be myself if I wasn't going to sleep soon.

P.S. Sorry for the long post.

Newgrounds Sponsor Preloader
Now here's a little problem. I was pretty sure that the thing where theres the NG logo and it has all those cool blur effects was a Newgrounds Sponsor Logo. If so, a lot of people have started to decompile it and use it for their own use in Flash movies and games. I'm pretty sure that it was meant for only sponsors otherwise, sorry for the mistake. Tom should put some type of debug protection on it so no one can decompile the preloader part.

Weights

Actually I recently got some Bowflex detachable dumbbells. I was tired of getting 5 - 20 pound detachables. These ones are 5 - 52.5 and you don't have to manually take the pieces off the change the weight. You simply pop it in the stand and select how much you want on both sides. Usually around 5 pound increments, aaaand it came with a bench. Sure, it was a lot of money, but absolutely worth it.

I have the same one, except no bench. It's like a kind of knob on the side where it changes. I'm not 100% sure it's bowflex though. It sounds the same and has same weights. Yeah, I don't use them much :P

RE: NG Preload
Ehh i dont think its worth the energy... that effect has been used in theatre movies all the time.. it just now started catching on to use it in flash.. i think its open game much like using the camera focus shift that everyone uses these days. Its just a technique even if they are flat out ripping it and learning nothing.

Pretty good execution, at least in game, but the intro took too long and made me want to quit, and in the instructions, you don't even say to use the mouse, I figured it out, but that's silly. And the starting audio, ready set go, was terrible, get someone to do it good, or it would be fine if you just excluded it.

I made the intro shorter put use the mouse for the first words in the insrtuctions and tookout the ready set go.

you made the highscores

That must be the fastest anyone has every heeded my advice, thanks. The intro is much better, the ready set go would be good without the voice, but I wont ask you to change that again.

I made top highscores :P

Re:Weights

Man, I haven't worked out much now that I think of it. I use to work out 5 days a week in grade 9 and 10. Now I might do an exicise or two, or maybe go for a light jog every month. I got a stepper, a bike, bench press, and dumbbells ranging from 5 pounds to 45. All of that stuff is buried in my garage though. :P It was all originally my dads which he got years ago when he was around. So their old and dusty too. Still are usuable. I got two 30 pound dumbbells in my room when I'm bored . Nothing like sweatin' on a full body workout before bed. Helps ya get right to sleep after.

MP3 doesn't come out in England until the end of october (along with LOZ:PH), but I'm hearing really good things, so it's a game I can't miss.

Are the American and European Wii's the same, or do they both have a region lock (towards each other)? If they're not, I see no reason why you couldn't just order it off of Amazon.

There were some... erm... issues recently about this kind of thing...
Seriously. ASK first.
I think Armor Games give out some free games to use for Game Sites (naturally, they're all geared towards sending traffic over to AG, but them's the breaks - everyone wants Traffic). Your best bet is to always, always ask Flash developers. Apparently, most people are cool with that kind of thing so long as you ask before putting it up.

Most sites have pages with designated free games for you to use on your site, like miniclips, and armorgames, but if they don't then sending the webmaster an email will probably be a good idea.

Always better to ask the author's permission. Most people who have created sponsored games/movies would probably be happy to let you have copies of their work, since the sponsorship deal usually means they're all over the web anyway. It's all extra exposure for their site, if they have one.

The controls were WASD :/

Unfortunately it's a region lock thing, because European stuff is PAL, whilst Japan is something else and American is another.
