Yeah, pretty much. When you're just starting out you're just trying to figure out what everything does and how to use it effectively. I'm glad I didn't discover Newgrounds until I got a little better. =P

Future of Flash

What would you guys say is the future of flash gonna look like?

more n00bs doing crap and a continuous drip of goood movies and games but a select few?

or prehaps with all the new fitlers and AS they'll add int he future prehaps flashign will become easier?

Maybe everythign will end up becoming more of the same as origonal movies and games become duplicated over and over....

:)

The same. If you look back over the last 5 years in general(for artisits) the only things that have changed are there are nicer gradients and the brushes are a little smoother.

more n00bs doing crap and a continuous drip of goood movies and games but a select few?

There will always be noobs but some times they trun out good.

or prehaps with all the new fitlers and AS they'll add int he future prehaps flashign will become easier?

Filters wont really change anything. If the art is crap no amount of blurs or overlays ill prevent it from looking shit.

Maybe everythign will end up becoming more of the same as origonal movies and games become duplicated over and over....

There are no origional ideas. Everything can most probably be traced back to something else. The same jokes the same stories. Nothing changes apart from the way you display it.

I think the bar of animation in flash will continually be raised as more artists discover the tool. So I guesse the quality of stuff will continue to rise eventually leveling out. Flash is pretty well known at this point and isn't hard to obtain so I can't imagine that many fantastic artists that want a digital medium for animation not finding one.So this could be the leveling out period...

Other than that I see games becoming more complex and AS eventually turning into a medium that can support games with really complex gameplay and stories. which may be possible now but it is in no way easy. I can't see flash going anywhere but up =P

I'm cool now... Right guys?... Guys?

Why is it those who make epic flashes usually make one or two and vanish :(

Epic Flashes

I've wondered the same thing myself. In some cases it could be that after realizing how much effort they really need to put in to live up to their reputation they decide not to bother trying. Perhaps they lose interest. Sometimes it's people getting involved with schooling or education. Others seem to change their focus to more lucrative animations. These all seem to be what I've noticed...

Either way, I'm still pissed that I may never be able to witness such mythical greats such as Merry Melony Ep. 2...

A shot of vodka is beneficial at any time.

Working out, however, is icky.

Working out

30 mins in a childrens playground (swigns and such) is the same as 30 mins in a gym.

Yeah I was always looking forward to it, too bad it got vaporized along with his harddrive about a year and a half back. Drobile's more into 3D stuff nowadays but hopefully he'll come back for a flash or finish a part of the MM series. According to his site though, he's going to start working on part 2 after he's done with the Animator and the Seat 3d movie, and he finished that about a month back so maybe we will get to see it someday? You can see the work he had on MM part 2 though, or the intro at least.

always behind schedule.

Stretching is a good part about keeping motivated. A lot of people don't stretch before excersising, then they wonder why they feel extra sore in the morning... crappy soreness leads to people not wanting to keep in shape anymore.

Just a thought.

Ya know, I've always kinda wondered that myself.

I mean, people like Topz (From AFD3 and 4 glory) is an amazing animator and artist, but he decided to say fuck it for a social life. Plus his computer died. :X

I think it just comes down to that the people who do it just don't have the dedication or the desire sometimes, or they just see it as a hobby, whereas some of us see it as something we want to do for our lives.

I've noticed after a few drinks I can run almost as though my life depended on it, and afterwards I'm not the least tired. This is in contrast to how when I normally do less than 5 minutes of running and need 20 minutes to catch my breath.

I told that story to someone once and they said it had something to do with the alcohol thinning your blood...

I started working out regularly 1 week ago after I realized jmtb02's description of his vision of every NG user fit me to a T...it's going well, I feel better and even look a lil better.

I liked it. It was really well done. And no, I haven't seen it before.

I have to say though, that with all this "Web 2.0" crap going around, I don't really know what it is.

To wikipedia!

Its a change in how the internet works its a trend where the user is king and the user is creator.. ironically newgrounds has done web 2.0 shit for so many years now its not really new.

Newgrounds lives because all the users make the content.

I believe it's more the other way around, stretching your arteries. Minor effects are that your lungs are used up more and diffirent blood pressure. But mainly just don't let your blood temperature drop (in winters) so your organs don't freeze (bums die like that alot).

Some things about web 2.0 are cute. I don't like the idea that sites are using really generic CSS now, with just giant blocky websites and blog layouts. I wish that creativity and functionality would take better hold :).

Almost every site now has this design, where it is in the center and has links at the top or at the side and a colour in the background. It seems to be the current trend. I'd like to see more flash sites, even if they aren't really user friendly.

Would my site fall under that category? I presume it does, its quite hard to think of something origional. The most over used concept is the "torn pages" effect. People think its origional but hundreds have already done it

I have been working out for 2 years and this is my oppinion your your crazy views:

Well it will help you a little, alchole makes your body produce Dopameen(sp) and Adrenalin the two feel good drugs. It also thins the blood, which is verry good it means you can hydrate faster the blood flows faster which takes the water around your body faster.

Although so will gaterade, but it hydrates you unlike alchole. If you want to take anything after working out try Kreiatein(sp) or some sort of supliment protein shake, carb supliment. Although only take things like that if you want to gain muscle, if its weight loss just take Kreiatein(sp) it makes your cells hold more water so you recover MUCH faster and you can work out for longer.

At 5/27/07 09:32 PM, jmtb02 wrote: Stretching is a good part about keeping motivated. A lot of people don't stretch before excersising, then they wonder why they feel extra sore in the morning... crappy soreness leads to people not wanting to keep in shape anymore.

Thats 100% true! Stretch ALOT even if you think it looks faggy... Just do it, when the muscles are stretched all the juices flow nicer makes you stronger and more flexable, also you feel MUCH better after doing this. Its even more true if your older (I'm 16 therefore young and invincible! My young body will recover from pretty much anything after a day or two).

Thats good! Although don't stop. During the first 2 weeks of working out you will gain SOOO much but then the rate of increase will start to slow up, but don't give up or slow down! Keep going its worth it. Pretty ladies pay more attention to buffness xD

I work out 2 - 4 times a week, although I'm going to start going everyday again :D. But people what ever happens keep working out, most people go really well for the first few weeks but then get bored of it. What you have to do is just buckle down and break though the pain thresh hold the 3rd or 4th week of working out are the hardest just keep going because after that its soo much easier and enjoyable. After 5 - 6 weeks you will really notice a difference :D.

Thats disgustingly erotic!

Epic flashs

I've been working on a few thigns that probs could be considered epic, but they are far from finsihed... especialy since one is to be aorund 1 hour+......

Long flashes

Longest swf on ng is 30 minutes.... but thats like.. really old, we need a swf that breaks that record!

Response to The Flash 'Reg' Lounge 2007-05-28 09:03:21

Long flashes
They are only good if they have very good graphics/ animation and storyline. I cant watch a youtube video for 10mins, i get distracted. I can only seem to watch longer videos and programs on tv

Whats this epic flash your making snox?
