Mushroom Clouds
There's two parts to a Mushroom Cloud. There's the bottom that shoots out in all directions and grows like a tsunami almost. Then there is the pillar that collapses in at the top to create the mushroom as the air pushes op through the cloud on top.
Disney.
As young and naive as I am, i can tell how bad disney has gotten. First of all the 3D animation things they use look stupid, their comedies (other than pirates) all seem the same... I wish they would go back to the old style animation with pen and paper.

Disney.
The main reason for computer animating instead of traditional animation is that its too expensive these days. But, I guess they figure they can animate more cheaply so they can make more of a profit. :-P

Yep. Stupid sequels, they're almost never any good. At the time of typing that post, I was thinking back to the '90s Disney films that were actually memorable (Lion King, Little Mermaid, etc.). But yeah, right now, Disney is at an all-time low. Who actually watches crap like Snow White 3? Should've kept it at 1...

Disney Used to be Cool...
I saw Pirates 3 last night, and I was shocked at how freaking awsome it was! Srsly though, number 3 in movies always aren't as good, but this was deffinitly the best in the franchise!
However I totally agree, I hate all these 3D animations, only one that really stood out was Finding Nemo, then everyone copied that formula, use cute creatures, and make them do funny faces! Every 3D animation is just the same, except of course Toy Story which is another really good one. The Incredibles was good, but again a spoof on super heroes isn't entirely original, although it was pulled off very well.

To the last three posts (pixelz, Kart man & mastersword man). Is that anything more than your guessing and complete speculation?

What? What are you basing that on? Is that just a guess.. is it a 'common knowledge' sort of thing or what? Of course they have the money..

Nah, it's just my own opinion. :P
I personally think that the more memorable Disney movies were the hand-animated ones from the 1990s. Sure, there's the occasional computer-generated movie exception, but the traditionally-animated movies seem to be more 'magical'. The hand-drawn characters seem more astounding to watch, rather than computer-generated models. Also, at the time (in the '90s), Disney made each movie they made seem fresh and new. Now, with the idea barrel seemingly drying up, almost each movie they make (traditionally-animated OR CGI-animated) is usually some lower-quality rehash of other movies. I really do wish that Disney could get back on their feet again and start anew. Sure, they can withstand their own by teaming up with Pixar and make 3D computer-generated animations, but they completely fall flat if they try making their own.

I don't think pirates was very good. At all. It had lots of scenes that seemed extremely dragged out. Although, I think the overall story was decent it was boring up to the end with the revelation of calypso. The action scenes were pretty intense as well. On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the best). I give it a 3.5 :P

All of the 3D movies nowadays are just copies of past hits. Like.. that new movie Surf's Up. Its just like a copy of Happy Feet. Cute penguins, silly humor. Cept this one looks like crap. Surfing Penguins = FAIL.
I'm not against 3D movies. In fact, I love most 3D movies. But studios just keepy copying each other.
Dizzknee
It's sad that they haven't been producing as many "traditional" animations as they used to, as well as other studios. Most of the 3D fair that Disney, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers etc. produce is garbage with a few gems.
It upsets me that studios capable of producing movies such as The Iron Giant, The Prince of Egypt, and Beauty and the Beast have almost completely given up on 2D animation. I do understand that there are a few cell style (but now done completely on computers, of course) trickling out from time to time but they are overpowered at the box office by behemoth 3D, cgi movies starring wacky animals that talk.
It's enough with the animals already! Give it a rest, try something new, Jesus. I am fucking sick of cgi animals.
PS I can't believe that Flushed Away wasn't even nominated for an academy award, it was WAY better than Happy Feet.

Cute Talking Animals
I have to say I think I now hate penguins, theres at least 3 penguin based movies, and then penguins have been in other 3d animated movies. I mean really, are all the writers of these movies the same guys or are they like south parks view of the family guy writers "manities with balls...". I mean Snow White is one of my favourite movies, even if it is a kiddy movie, it is just original and very good. Most of the animation with these movies isn't even all that great, some video game cut scenes are better (mostly the Final Fantasy cut scenes).
I'm also mad that most of cartoons on TV are animated with Flash now. I don't have anything against flash, but these are suppost to be professinoal cartoons. I have flash because its pro on the web and it is cheap (compared to other software I think). I can tell if a cartoon is made with flash simply by the colours and the layout of the characters. They use tweens for professional cartoons! Tis why I only like Avatar now...

Reviews
How important are reviews to you? On some of my flash submissions i dont even have any and i frankly couldn't careless. Because i know that a relativly high number of people have watched it even if they didn't throw me a review.
However, on my audio submissions reviews are everything. Downloads are not really anything to rate your submission on. Neither are the scores you get to be honest.
Also a thing ive noticed is that in the audio portal there is a much nicer atmosphere. So if you review someone you are almost certain to get a review you back. It's so much nicer.
I say that the flash portal should adopt a similar system to the audio portal. So if some one reviews you, even if you dont know who they are, then you give them a review back on there most recent submission. I think it brings the comunity toghther.

True but I am lasy...
Me and my brother share a manual 1991 corolla, wasnt too expensive or flash, yet it's pretty reliable. Driving it to uni and shit is wicked.
Reliabiliy is the most important thing.
Make sure you get a good stereo system and sub with whatever you get.
Fuck yeah!
So how old are you?
16.5 :P I just got my L's.

Reviews are good. I like getting feedback and so i'll also try to give it even if it's just 'that was cool!'. Its interesting to see what people think especially in a place where everyone is learning.

Bad Animation Days
Have you ever had an off day? Where you open flash and you try to draw something yet you are like stumped on what to draw -- and if you do draw something it totally sucks? For some reason, this whole weekend I've been Flash stumped :[

Not to mention his best film, All Dogs Go To Heaven. Sure, it has animals that talk, but they're butt fucking ugly, largely immoral, and surrounded by death and drug use. Those were the good old days.

12, I wish... I could spend the next 15 years not fucking up.
Maybe you're not watching the right ones.
What can I say, i love animation. Anyway, Pixar is a wonderful animation studio, they even have Brad Bird directing some of the movies. They were pioneers in 3D digital animation and have an awesome stable of artists.

Scripting Rotation
I'm trying to script a rolling ball, I'm doing a really shitty job. Has anyone done this? or wants to help me out...at all? I took AP physics this year so I know the basics (my teacher did a bad job teaching me).
OK NO I AM GETTIN A LIL BIT PISSED OFF!!!
basicly ive bein learining and creating flash for bout two years now. but all my animation are well.........crap but thats mainly due to a lack of effort.
BUT there is one thing, whenever i get half way through a flash i'm makin somthing ALWAYS GOES WRONG (maybe im cursed................) so there are a couple of things that i need help with:
ive started usin layers but i now have bout 20 layers and its gettin reli hard to keep track of them any way of sorin that out.
when u clik on properties (at the bottom) and select a background i can't change it, and if i do it changes through out the whole animation! so if its green at the start then i change it to blue its like that at the beggining rite 2 the end!!!!!
lastley i tried putting my own back ground (a rectangle of grey) in its own layer BUT all other objects disapear behind it even if there symbols etc.
pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee help thanks a lot cheers
