Shape Tweens

If shape tweens worked perfectly then animation would be easy...

Just a quick side note for anyone interested - Yahoo's got a feature on the famous graffiti walls of Venice in Cali. Worth a watch/read, it's pretty interesting to see some vet's take on the current state of things down there - how even their work gets sprayed over before it even has time to dry just because everyone wants to get up on a Venice wall.

Definitely going to read/watch that later but I gotta go to school now :\
Thanks!

My code is "244874-959066". I love Mario Kart DS, it is deffinitly one of the absolutely must buys for the DS. I want to get Pokemon Pearl now, but then I also want Guitar Hero 2 or something...

Shape Tween

Well the problem I find with making good shape tweens, is that it takes time with practise and learning how to set them up, but rather then spending that time I would just frame by frame it, unless I am changing a circle into a sqaure, which that'd be one crappy animation.

Whoa its me!

understood the difference between outlines and fills, independent shapes that dont differ in shape/size.etc

I agree... shape hints are shit also.. flash needs to like rework the algorythms or logic for that shit... ive never gone back to using that because you literally need 20 billion shape hints for flash to know how you want it to shape tween... its not even worth the effort youd take less time and better result fbfing it.

Mercenaryitis
Man, I remember two, three years ago that Flash forums would pool together to do Flash stuff and sigs and each other's work for free without so much as a concern for things like reimbursement.

Now it seems like everyone's suffering from the need to be paid for every little scrap of work they do. I mean, it's fine to use that "Pay me for my time" excuse against little
nooblets demanding work (and yes, it's an excuse. Don't lie to yourselves and say you'd take those jobs even if they offered you the cash you asked for it), but when you use it on Regs or people who know what they're talking about or have a genuinely GOOD idea then I think the condition's too far gone.

What is it with cash payment nowadays anyway? Maybe it's just me speaking from the lofty position of being paid to do Flash work, but surely everyone's treating this far too seriously for something they'd consider a hobby that they're just pissing about with for fun?

Mind you, three years ago there wasn't an Armor Games...

Better things to do

For the most part there's been plenty of non-pay collaborations. The only reason more people are asking for money now is because they realize they can. I use flash professionally and I get paid for it. If you want to infringe on the time I could be using to work on my real job, then I'd expect some sort of payment. Whether the person is a reg or not. Now, if I get together with someone who has similar ideas then I'm not gonna complain, but to actually 'work' on a project for/with someone, then thats considered a side job.

You can't blame people for trying to get theirs.

Shape Tweens

I havent used shape tweens since October of 2006. They suck ass, but that movie from page 490 was awesome.

I animate using motion tweens mostly.

Random Fits for right now. It's my brother's account. I used to have Numba Wun, but I'm going to try to either recover it, or play as Numba Wun Uhgen.

used 3 of them in this to make that 3d house bit 2/3 the way through. i can do better but i prefer to use fbf ;)

prehaps if i get bored one day i'll scrap up some rnaod 3d stuff i shape tweens for you to fap over ;)

Shape tweens and shape hints are hard to use ( mainly cuz your limited with the hints) but if you get it rigth it's great.. although for some reason shape tweens tend not to rotate in a cirtain way that is sometimes very annoying.

Main thing with shape tweens is that if your gonna do somehting complex (or with lotsa corners) you may need to have several shape tweens going at once to get the correct outcome..

main use for shapetweens is for fade in/outs and/or colour changing. sometimes you can use shapetweens inplace of motion tweens for simple stuff like a black box gorwing/distorting and such.. it's not completely useless ;)

KOL

Great animator, amazing, unique and knows how to flash...

underrated :(

Yikes

making a cd takes up less cpu and vm memory than flash working on something above average ( my game)

yikes!

Task Manager

I always have this open now, just incase i have to terminate a process. so if somehting crashes and takes ages to close down witht hat dr watson nonsence i can just, pop, end process and carry on..

always good to have open.. :3

It's actually cheaper if you order some stickers in bulk to be made... just with a bit more upfront price. Those stickers + ink costs are really expensive, and are not UV and waterproof. It's just a thought.

You can order cheaper stickers via cafepress (lackluster quality) or at a local print shop in rolls. It's like $100-200, but it's worth it given that the cost goes down to like 25-75 cents instead of $3 per sticker.

Yeah, but i wont be able to sell/give away a bulk amount so really i need to print of maybe 10?! lol. Plus then if i wanted to change my design i could . Thanks anyway, ill have a think about cafepress

Sephiroth from FF7 (lulz obvious)

Liquid Snake from MGS

Mercenaryism

I haven't seen too much of that. I even got rtil to do a part for AFD6, and he literally lives off of contests and commission work.
