What exactly is flash CS3 anyway? i read about it, and it seems they intend for people to animate photoshoped pictures. But is this considered flash 9??? Yes, no?

Just reading about it in Different's link it doesn't really sound that good. Looking at all the features too I notice they haven't added to the filters from Flash 8 or anything (or as far as I read).

Also the whole thing about importing from PS - well you could do that anyway from Fireworks, if you were desperate enough you could of saved your PSD as a PNG in Fireworks then imported it.

Although saying that I don't know about ze Actionscript improvements.. so maybe that'll be cool. Exporting Quicktime now handles AS too it says. Eitherway i'll get it at some point being that it's about the price of this sossage role i'm about to eat :)

Would have been nice if he noticed I was being a sarcastic goit over the matter... but yeah. A few improvements. Probably not worth the upgrade unless AS3 becomes impossible to do without. Looks like "integration" was the key word here this time, and unless you get all the packages, it might be a bit hollow just upgrading the one.

Oh. And the Flash CS3 logo is ugly. Looks like a periodic table entry for Flourine... Where's the pretty swooshie F gone?

Photoshop

i have V7 ont he pc, not gonna get the new one, mainly due to the price, but also cuz i rarly use photoshop, i find flash can do quite alot of the things that photoshop can do..

obviously not all of the thigns but enough for me to get by :P

I really think making 'CS3' will confuse people. I mean, what happened to CS1+2? Anyway it looks ok, although i don't think there is much need to upgrade yet :).

I think the .mov exporter will help a lot of people though, since it now supports most AS and movieclips.

Photoshop

On the topic of adobe, i just got Photoshop CS2 yesterday for £65, which is pretty great :). I've been playing around with it for about 2 days now, and its pretty awesome.

Anyway, does anyone know any good sites to learn some techniques from? I'd like to get into the more arty side of things :).

I agree... Adobe has been fucking tweaking CS and re-releasing new versions like every other month.. not only is it annoying.. but a huge hassle.... they should just blow their load on one version and just stockpile improvements until the next major version... this cs1 cs2 cs3 and other crap is stupid.. theres like slight improvements and its a whole new version of it... theres like an 'expert' photoshop version floating around i dont remember the name... as if photoshop wasnt robust enough...

I just watched the features of Flash CS3 and it seems like most of what Adobe was working on was ways to mix Photoshop with Flash and have easy accessability between the 2 programs.

However, one thing that I think is incredible is the new Convert Motion to Scripting. You can tween a movieclip on stage, have filters, whatever, and then convert the tween with the filters and everything into pure scripting that can be applied to another MC. Quite awesome if you ask me.

But, I don't know. Macromedia shouldn't of sold to Adobe =/

I have the Photoshop CS3 beta and I'm really glad they finally stopped with that gay Flash MX-esque layout (windows everywhere) and had tabs and stuff. Its really quite pretty.. and if they wanna make big improvements on Flash they should improve not only the AS (just the change to AS3 will be a big enough leap for them in that area) but also the drawing capabilities.

Also great to hear about a new version of Fireworks.. it kicks PS's ass for web design any day of the week. Ease of use ftw ^^ And of course DreamWeaver.. damn I might have to actually fork out for this Creative Suite 3 web package thing :)

Stupid Northern US... It was just like 20 degrees a week ago, now it's 79 and I'm sweating my fricking ace off. Oh well, At least I can do stuff without wearing a coat.

yay for californias extremely mild weathe, I bitch its cold when its 60 and bitch its hot when its 80, but honestly there really aren't differences in seasons where I am.

I don' tplan on upgrading anything, but I would like to buy a copy of dreamweaver just any copy (damn my cheapness). I don't understand adobe, all they basically did was ruin the layout of all the differnt in meus of flash add filters and tabs. Design pannels menu and Develpment pannels was so much easier.

Completly off tpic but did anyone ever find out what happend to Romeo and Juliet Sealed with a Kiss. The movie that guy made in flash over the course of like 5 years. I never planmned on seeing it, I just hoped he did well. I don't think he did seeing as it never hitany theaters near me an I'm in a metropolitan area. =/

It Was Hot

Its cooled down since the sun went down. I was at the beach for a bit. The water was too cold to swim in, and it was so late in the afternoon I was unable to tan(not that I want to be tan, it just does wonders for my skin). We ended up playing soccer and digging holes.
