Well i didnt want to make a new thread and since you guys seem to be talking about games, ill ask here.

Anyway, ive been working a little bit today on a hack and slash/platformer type game set in medieval times. im looking for a good coder who can work with me on it. Being able to talk regularly through msn/aim is a big plus.

London or Birmingham work well for me.

Remember that you can drink three years earlier here and most peaople seem to start a couple years before that at least. A bigger problem with "youngins" would probably be travel and accomodation methinks.

Drawing Frustration

You ever spend a decent amount of time on something and then realize something is out of proportion? It is so damn frustrating because you can either pretend you don't see it, or you have to undo a perhaps large part of your work.

I worked about 45 minutes, I was pretty much about to start shading the drawing I had when I realized the reason it looked so odd was because the arm was too small...and sat there a while contemplating just shading it anyway and pretending it looks right but I decided to try and fix it(I really loved the way the arm looks individually). I made it bigger but things still seemed wrong, so I pretty much just sketched in the background very roughly and closed my sketchbook, in submission.

The class is in less than an hour and I don't have time to redo half of it just to make it look right before I do a bunch of shading, I'll hand it in AS IS and take it on the chin. Its just a weekly drawing assignment its not work much anyway. But still, is it not intensely frustrating to work for long periods of time only to realize a part of the whole of your drawing is wrong?

Okay. I've mentioned this before, but for those around the South there's the UK Web and Mini Comix Thing convention at University College London. Weebl's there again this year as far as I know, but otherwise it might not be the best of ways to spend Paddy's Day. I'll be there giving a friend encouragement and I'll make sure to put a Newground Sticker on my bag (or a cross hair on my stomach...) in case any of you regs get down there as well

As for the meet up this Autumn, Nottingham was a bit of a biassed choice for me since I'm down the A52 from it. But it's a nice city, very easy for all the train lines to get to, and is a fairly central place as things go. So I'm putting my vote in for Notts, Stoke or anywhere else in the Midlands.
