Massively Massive Game
And yes, that would be the name of it. I was thinking of starting a mass collab again for something like Firestorm or Frenzy, just with the Flash regs. Game programmers and animators would come together for miniprojects, to be contributed to a mega file.

People interested?

I personally think you're a bit exaggerating with all your game collabs, but you could give it a try. If it works, I can maybe help a bit... for a nice little sum of money, of course.¨:P

Re: Massively Massive Game

Nice title :P. Anyway, sounds like a good idea, but i don't have the time right now. Couldn't we start it in summer? That way, loads of people could join and no one would have exams or anything.

Can you spare a game sir?

Please?

What a post eh?

Sounds good, but i don't think another fsf collab should be made. I think it should be one solid game where everyone participates in it.

Howabout we make a sidescroller collab where everyone does a level and then all the levels are put together from easy to difficult.

There would have to be a few things kept constant in the game, such as collectable items and character design (although i think it'd be cool if the character was quite generic looking so different artists could draw their different interpretations of him.

I think the fact that the drawing style would change and the feel of the gameplay would differ from level to level would just add to it.

I've seen a few game collabs, but none that actually fit together as one continuous game.

Wait huh? How am I exaggerating? As for money, since this project was merely conceived about 30 minutes ago, I can't say we'll get paid, but I can try to get us sponsored.

Well, I'm not trying to sound smart or anything again, but you (all) seriously should practice AS object orientation. >:)
It would be more interesting to find a way to merge it all into a single game. Where the graphics part wouldn't be that hard it would be horrible without using a proper object interface.
So I'm thinking this really-really big 2d RPG world, the map being diced up to lots of artists and programmers designing more and more functionality and whatnot to make an equal effort.
It so totally sounds like teh many thousand dollars yesplz.

Totally man :) I want to be in the one reg project that actually gets off the ground. And ideas on what it's going to be like (i.e. a FSF type thing, or with larger games which slot together)?

I thought you were talking about another 4 seconds game. I didn't follow the serie but from what I remember you've made two or three of those collabs, didn't you?

Anyone ever played that mario game on gamecube where you go round a board game andhave loads of minigames when you land on certain squares?

Howabout a game like that?

Response to The Flash 'Reg' Lounge 2007-02-09 13:11:51

If you are considering, I can get the programming interface down myself, it would only require a powerful team of whiners about me not doing it when I could.

Meh. It's really hard to make big epic games with so many people, it's just too hard to get everyone organized for such a thing.

I don't personally believe there are any philosophical messages in our dreams. I think it's a bit like a 'summary' of what we've experienced and what we thought about. Try to think about something that interests you very deep before you sleep, there are big chances you'll dream. When you think about it, your thoughts are basically encrypted data or something passing through your brain, and when you sleep it possibly 're-displays' them or something. It's definately more scientific rather than litterary, it's not like your brain wants to talk to you ^^

No.... you don't have "big chances you'll dream" when you sleep. You ALWAYS dream when you sleep, it's just that you usually don't remember it unless you wake up in the process of the dream. REM sleep (the time when you usually dream) is a sign of being alive... trust me you always dream.

Also, usually I don't dream about something I was thinking about right before going to sleep. I could lie in bed and think about one idea for an hour or more, but that just usually further ensures that I won't dream about it since my mind has already spent time thinking about it, and in dreams your mind spends time thinking about things it usually doesn't think about (usually... lol).

LOL

FAAAALSE. You can sleep without dreaming, for example if someone wakes you up 10 minutes after you started sleeping. And I didn't mean you'd have big chances of dreaming, I meant big chances of dreaming of what you thought about but I was just too smart to write it.

Dreams
Seeing as you're still talking about it. I agree with Orb in that I have heard that you always dream when you sleep but don't always remember the dreams.
I NEVER used to dream(NEVER remembered my dreams). Now I do more foten and it's really annoying. I think because I never did as a kid that now it just disturbs me. I always end up dreaming of whatever I've been doing recently, so if I've been playing a load of san andreas I'll dream of that or watching Lost a lot I'll dream about that. It actually makes me feel like I havent slept well when I wake up.
What is worse is whenever I drink (heavily i mean) and go to sleep, I always dream the night I just had over and over in different ways. This means when I wake up I cant remember what's real and what's a dream. It confuses the hell out of me sometimes.
Anyway, I don't like dreaming. Oh and another thing, something people need to learn more often is that dreams are boring stories. I hate it when someone starts telling you their dream and its fucking boring and they think it's the most interesting thing in the world. ack!
People need to shut the fuck up about their dreams in general.

I don't feel having slept at all with dreams like that. It's also generally when I'm not sleeping for the night, just laying back thinkig (heavily).

That's because dreaming gives strong impressions, the stories themselves are rather boring indeed.

I agree with toast. If my brain serves me correctly, you only dream in the REM (good band that) part of sleep. Only when you're lightly asleep.

Be happy at the date of time you were previously born at, meaning that I congratulate you of not being done at the time of finishing an additional circle around the sun, which is saying that I feel this time to be an event worth noting due to the importance of you to us.

Can anyone say only 'happy birthday' in even more words?

Feelings of joy, or perhaps joyousness, if that is an appropriate form of expression; it may well not be; what, however, we can be certain of, is that it is indeed a particularly uplifting feeling - at least in comparison to other emotions - albeit one so shortlived as over a single day, which is after all only twenty four hours, or less if you want to count the minutes to more significant figures, and on this occasion it is apparent that the aforementioned feelings are appropriate; moving on to the matter of the occasion itself; a celebration of the annoiversary of your own particular birth, and while it is certainly of more importance to you than to we who have our own anniversaries to celebrate, it is nontheless something which is deserving of some form of recognition; it is the day on which you were born some time ago, and though it may come again next year it is important for us to celebrate it now, as we may well celebrate it when it cycles through again; but carpe diem and all that, and let me conclude - that is; terminate this particular wish of good fortune with a summary of its meaning - happy birthday to you, Lord Sonx.

I just spent much of last night doing soem Hamlet coursework. I could do an entire essay on Polonius' speech :P
