This is for my next game, i need advice from PSP owners, and anyone. I want it to look as realistic as possible without just tracing it.

Add texture, the surface looks more like teflon then plastic if you know what i mean.

I didn't know anyone here watched college football. I was for the Gators, so that was one of the best games of the year, in my opinion. Anyways, the real national championship game was OSU vs Mich earlier in the year; this one was played way too late, almost like a spring game.

And Gin hurt his ankle on a special teams play, not offensive.

There was a missed holding call on that too...

DL texture onto flash (to save filesize, i suggest using "trace bitmap", then optimizing the result, make no diff in the end), then convert it to a movie clip. Then use one of the blend features (Darken,Erase etc. I suggest Darken, usually does the trick), then use an Alpha on that Movie Clip to blend it to satisfactory levels.

Just use google, I'm sure you'll find a site with like 2700+ textures on it. I always use google image search, it works fine for me.

yeah, 14 to 41. tracy was playing like a DUMB ass. 5 fucking sacks! and ted ginn got injured on the first offensive play (where he scored a 50 yard running touch down or around there) so we were out on our two best players. we could have won.

Career in Web Design/Development

Its an ever growing career but more and more people take it up as a hobby and do it for extra cash. With the advent of programs like dreamweaver, making websites requires little skill any more. These leaves a lot of Web Designers with a harder time finding a nice job. It also leads to asshats trying to make their own websites and it turning out disturbingly awful.

I would consider doing web design work, but I'd rather avoid having to learn PHP. For the same reason I don't bother learning any programming. I can do a good enough job with the logical errors, but I'm not one for memorizing syntax.

Maybe he is :(. Thanks for the link TD, it helped allot :). I tried using iAniamtes technique and i think it look abit better, tell me what to improve/remove please :).

Much better, the obvious improvement you need now is the shoulder buttons. looks too much like grey slabs rather than buttons. After that it's just gnit-picking until you get what you can satisfactorily define as "perfect".

So I just visited the Flash Forum and for the first time in a few weeks and wondered if any of those schemes has come to idea yet, I've noticed the AS and Animators challenges(hopefully I'll participate) but has anything else come to plan to strengthen the community?

Random ideas

I feel like throwing a couple of game ideas into the field. I may or may not make these.

#s - The # signifies that I haven't thought of a name for them yet. Basically it's a Lemmings-type game where you have to guide as many of your guys as you can through a level. It differs from Lemmings in that instead of givng them jobs, you have to play 'God' and use your cursor to press switches, lift objects, hold traps and generally clear a safe path for your guys. The only thing you can't do is actually lift them up, because that would be cheating.

Including realistic physics!

Magnet James - Basically it's a fairly interesting and (I hope) original idea for a platformer / puzzle game. You play a guy with magnet boots which make him stick to walls and ceilings and stuff. What this basically means is that instead of gravity, you're drawn to whichever surface your feet are pointing to, so the direction in which you jump, fall and move changes when you walk up curves and slopes and stuff, often to full 180 degree flips.

I'd be hoping to make it in some sort of serious, atmospheric style, with cool photoshopped or RL backgrounds and an equally atmospheric soundtrack.

Paper World Cup! - If I ever have a sudden urge to make a football game, this'll be it. Basically, you have to control a straw and blow your ball into your opponents ball. This is made trickier by the fact that it's all mouse controlled, so you have to time how you swing your straw to get the angle right.

Tiredness

I'm very tired and about to go to bed. I have a deadline for a game tomorrow, I should meet it ok, but I've been working too hard on it, staying up too late all week. On top of that, I want my site redesign up by wednesday as well, because I've got an interview for a job on thursday and I need a decent portfolio section, which the new site has. So I've been working on that too. I still havn't really had time to play with all the stuff I got for xmas :(
