Fuck yo' requests.
Seriously, though. That server is harder than The Rock wearing a suit of Kevlar under Titanium plates listening to Autopsy and Carcass simultaneously.

Real e-mail responses to jobs I applied for through my automated Craiglist program:
Call center, $8/hr-$10/hr, part-time (Hired me right after the interview)
Database developer, 60-70k/yr, full time (I get these often. Usually it's a "manually write out your entire resume on our website" form-fill thing)
Student helpdesk, $8/hr, part-time
I don't really know, but I think I just missed out on something cool
.. And a whole hell of a lot of phone interviews. I had three phone interviews just on my way back from one of the actual interviews.
I'm also overqualified for:
Multiple helpdesk positions I applied for last time
Geek Squad
Several intern positions I also applied for a while back
So yeah. I guess I'll just be taking phone calls for a bagel place now.

That's literally all career fairs are now. They tell you to apply online, in person.
I did a Kali pen test and successfully didn't hack myself. I could watch my web traffic I think, but the output didn't make any sense. Anyway, I have a Linux machine to export haxe from now.
@Sam I can compile to Mac from my computer, but it actually makes a neko exe instead. So it'd be running a slow ass cpp VM, slower than flash, instead of native.

Yeah, like I'm going to waste my time re-writing my resume a million times just to have all million places never call me again. This is the exact reason I made my damned application in the first place.
This is the problem with being self-taught. Overqualified for places that don't require college and under-qualified for everything else. I don't know whether to congratulate myself or wish my IQ was around 96 just so I could get a damned job.

Wireshark. As long as everything important to you uses SSL you'll be fine.
.. And assuming no MitM attacks, of course. GlassWire tells you if you've been ARP poisoned.
Also, Kali isn't meant to be a general Linux machine. It's a security platform specifically designed for pentesting. If you want a *NIX compiler, just grab Lubuntu.

Ok the Linux community needs to get a person who doesn't suck at naming things.

What's funny is that Kali is the odd-one-out with naming.
Lubuntu is Ubuntu with an LXDE interface. If you look into the names of the others (Ubuntu Studio, for example, being Ubuntu for media) you'll find similar patterns.

Lubuntu makes sense as a derivative of Ubuntu, but Ubuntu is still a goofy name.

Can you even afford things now?
Finally done unpacking after a move. Haven't touched my side project in months; I do a git status... 40 uncommitted unstaged files. no idea what I was working on. Past me must've really hated future me.

I need to invest in the next day or two. It's unlikely a first-world country will die from an economic crisis and stocks are getting lower by the second.
Same thing when our stock market crashed. Best time to buy stocks because it went straight back up later.
Remember: Don't freak out. Whatever you do, don't freak out. If you've got money in the market, keep it there. Don't be like 90% of Americans who withdrew out of fear and then lost everything.

Ubuntu is a Zulu word which basically means having positive relationships with people. I think it's a pretty good name for an OS.
I'm trying to implement a Kademlia DHT in Go this weekend. Fun, but slightly tedious. This side-project has been ongoing for a little while now so I want to wrap it up soon. After this.. back to to my 3 years long game project. ;)

How off and on do you tend to be with projects, or personal work in general? I feel like I'm a pretty motivated person but I tend to take forever on my side stuff. You at least have a decent number of finished projects, do you just kind of stick with it every week, or do you have a lot of hiatus?

Interesting, didn't know that.

I try to get some work done every weekend on personal projects with varying degrees of success. Mostly it's an exercise in staying excited about what I do and learning about areas that I don't have an opportunity to explore at work. I don't really ever take hiatus from working on side stuff, but I do sometimes skip a weekend if I need a break from writing code.

Good on you! I really need to get more consistent in my work habits, I could blame work for my unavailability, but really the problem is, I'm lazy.

I spend too much time watching cooking videos on YouTube.
I personally stay motivated by working on different areas of the project since mine is fairly big. Like, I did procgen terrain when I wanted to build something neat, optimizing small bits when I wanted to accomplish something without it taking a long time, implementing new enemies and visual stuff when I'm a bit bored of seeing the same every compile. I just pick something off my long todo list that sounds fun at that moment.
I also have school research and internship research that I'm doing at the same time, I actually don't have time to code :(
