Not really, they'll still be there, I think.
The sidebar ads aren't there most of the time, though, so I see no problem in that, unless you're talking about something else.

From what I understand one of the big pushes toward going wide was to ease off the need for the sidebar hostile takeover ads. I think for atleast a few weeks, the ads will probably be turned off to let people enjoy / hate / get acquainted with the new look.

People have screen resolutions wider than the future layout, so I guess there'll be ads even after the redesign.
I actually vote for the ads, they're quite a nice addition to newgrounds, atleast it makes the place more colorful in contrast to the black-grey background...
