There are a couple of complications with making such an unofficial app.
Your data would be retrieved through screen scraping only since NG doesn't offer that kind of APIs, and scraping is quite limited and slow. Logging in should be possible but I for one would never give credentials to an app that isn't completely authorized. To charge for it would also be problematic (copyright and stuff), so you're left with making it free (or possibly to use ads, but that's not much of a difference).
All in all I think it's very much possible, but there's not enough incentive for people to actually put their time into it.

Anywhoo, what's the best approach to loading levels in a game? Currently I load everything for a level on one frame--causing a few seconds of lag right at the start of the level. How could I efficiently spread the hassle of loading these levels over a larger period of time and eliminate the lag issue?
Or should I cheat and cover the game with a black rectangle for a few seconds? :P
I always remember loving watching my friend play Pikmin on GameCube. I could never be bothered to play it, I just really enjoyed watching it. Something about it was ridiculously satisfying. I tried overlord for Xbox a few years ago which was similar but I preferred the friendlier graphics etc of Pikmin. It just felt more fun I guess :S

In high school, some friends and I were driving around bored one weekend. We saw a single old car parked in the school parking lot at like 10:00 at night.
Someone had the idea to go tip it over, so we got like 5 guys on one side of the car and heaved it over onto its side. I feel REALLY guilty about it now, some poor janitor probably came out and started crying when he saw what we did.

I might be a bit late for this, but yes, I've used PureMVC a fair bit. Robot Legs I've only heard of. Is there a followup question to that? If you're looking for opinions, PureMVC is not something you should worry about until you've really settled into your programming style and you're comfortable with most aspects of AS3. This is because it doesn't very much help you *do* more things so much as it's a tool for helping to organize and formalize your programming flow.

I remember when i was a kid, we went down a hill into some woods with my friends and we were like trying to learn how to smoke cigarettes or something and some of us got bored so we climbed back up the hill. The rest of the gang was still down there and wouldnt come up so for whatever reason we decided to throw rocks down there. Like they were near a pond so we were trying to throw the rocks through the branches so that itd hit the water and splash them or whatever. Anyway that had bad news written all over it, and at some point someone down there we hit one of my friends in the head and busted his head open. Didnt think it was true until they are like coming up holding a now bloody shirt to his head. I think he ended up getting a few stitches or something. I dont know if my rock was the one that did that but i always felt bad about it.

When I was in high school I made friends with these guys who I thought were cool, and we egged some guy's house. I don't know who it was, but they seemed to hate the guy.
About 3 months later I got some other friends. After school we all went back to this one guy's house, and it was THAT GUY. He never knew it was me.
I'm still like best mates with him. Hes a bit of a psycho, and I know if I told him about it he'd kick my head in, hahahahaha
Those first guys turned out the be real losers.
Redesign next month??
So word on the street is the redesign is scheduled to launch next month. That's what Mr Fulp said when someone from FGL pmed him about an entirely different subject. Here's the PM:
The games are generally lower quality because the page hasn't been maintained much in recent years. We added a new genre classification system that was to be rolled out with a site redesign, but that site redesign has ended up taking two years longer than expected - we currently expect to launch next month. When it launches, all the new genre info falls into place and the pages will have the option to be properly sorted by score%uFEFF

By an amazing coincidence, my boss introduced me to Robot Legs today. It's seems a lot easier to get your head around than PureMVC, which I had previously looked into, albeit very briefly. I started to rebuild an old Whack-A-Mole game in Robot Legs, my code is already so much cleaner!
