Aren't you still in year 6?

At my school, you were forced to take a year of VB before you could take Java. It was like torture. Visual Basic is disgusting and I hope I never have to use it again.
The worst part about VB is its lack of semicolons...
;;;;;;;;

We have 4 months of learning it until we move onto another language. either C-sharp or C++.

Why so?
I actually really started liking Objective-C a while ago.

I really hope the only reason you didnt write C# is cause your like me and can never remember the keycode for it.

British keyboards are silly.
# is a standard key on british keyboards, no shift needed. no alt ctrl needed, just a single tap of the '#' key...

shift-3
also on OSX you can hit option or option-shift and get weird characters when typing on a keyboard. It's how i get the £ symbol
the more you know

I understand that. However, £ is Shift-3 on my keyboard, while # is Alt-3.
I must of thought Apple have some universal QWERTY keyboard layout when I last posted, but now I realise I was a retard because you have to pick your keyboard layout when you install OSX.
Need help with regular expessions.
Say I have a string like "He spent $[1-10] on [lunch/a smoothie/a sundae]"
I'm trying to isolate everything between every set of brackets to further parse them.
I guess it would be something like \[.*] to match it but i'm trying to extract the string inside to replace it after further parsing. I know of the replace method but I still can't figure out how to do it.
If you don't understand what i'm saying, how would you take that initial string and isolate the string 1-10 and change it to let's say, 7, so in the end it says "He spent $7 on [lunch/a smoothie/a sundae]"?
Thanks
Paranoia, I love how you put so much effort into the content of your games. I love how they all have storylines, I love how they all have great music, I love how they're so different than the average crap you see on the internet. I just have one problem with you ... DOWNLOAD SOME BETTER FONTS! Seriously, it's out of control. What are you using, times new roman? It looks terrible lol. It hurts me to read the story in the intro of your game in some bad font with 8px white glow. Please do something about this ^^
May be homeless by the end of next month.
Seein' an employment resource counselor today in 45 mins.
Also askin' about welfare and disability - I may have agoraphobia because I feel greatly uncomfortable outside.
Other day I was told by my landlord about my position so ya, it sucks hardcore cause I was almost done some flash projects but my job now is to get a job or welfare so I don't go homeless.
Straight up though... I am a scared scared lil' bastard right now. Been unemployed for 2 years and only worked construction 2 weeks and 5 days at a call center, I haven't a clue what or how I'm goin' to pull somethin' to survive. Wish me luck my flash peeps - sorry I've been away, good news is I got me a girl again and shes takin a lot of my time. : )

Move in with her :)
Seriously though, that's a shitty situation to be in. Hope everything will turn out fine for you
I just started to make changes to the NG levels collab, which has the working API in. But found that it would not connect like it used to. Nothing has changed since I last opened the file, the only thing that has changed is the network I am using. I am on an education internet network (not a home one), for any reason would that make the API not connect for the game?
I have had some other weird errors like some Ng preloader games only loading 80% and no more while on this network. Any ideas?
Wish me luck my flash peeps
Bummer Duder. Sorry to hear that. Believe me, Oregon is the unemployment capital of the US, especially in my particular county. Things will get better. Don't have tons of babies with your lady friend. That doesn't help. :)

This might make a difference. I've noticed that my school blocks Flash Player from communicating with the internet, so that might be it. Try it at home and see if that works.

That really sucks, I am not home until christmas, so it just halts any testing until then. I will just have to work on other things in the meantime. So at school you can play flash games but not online ones?
My uni also blocks ALL internet adverts, (youtube, google, newgrounds) so I get these stupid static adverts that tell me that i'm broke etc...
oh the joys of education.

I didnt mind the fonts that much. If anything I think he used too many of em. It starts off sans-serif, then its like script font for You died, then some stuff is serif. I think if anything id be a little more consistent, maybe limit it to 1 - 2 font familys that are within the same class.
Also HANG IN THERE DUDER!

About the whole API tutorial thing.
Once the wiki has been updated I'd be thinking of actually making an example flash to submit to NG with medals/flash add and high scores, and provide a link to the source all documented on the submisison. Obviously this would need to be approved though since it'd be a submisison with medals and stuffs!
I guess this could just be a game of pong fully API'd up or something!
Reckon something like this would work?
Not exactly Flash related but if any of you care, here's a great artist who does Wildlife and Pet portraits:
She's really under-rated. I mean sure, there are quite a few out there with same par work, but she's finished a childrens book and to me has shown some versatility.
Like up and leave some truthful feedback :)
