A lot of people talk about that 'Golden Age' but to be honest that 'Golden Age' never existed. Our memories betray us. Our love of something blurs the reality and years later when all we have left is memory we come back to our 'Golden Age' and realise it for what it truly was. Carpe Diem, cease the day. It'll be gone by tomorrow.

So what's everyone thought about the season so far?

From what I can tell, most people don't have much of a memory anymore. Something can remember it for you. How many phone numbers in your smart phone could you physically dial on a payphone, assuming you could find one. Precious few I'm afraid. I don't do very well at this test either. Some of my friends had more phone numbers last year, than I've had in my entire life. A sign of the times, I suppose.

On another topic, I've been enjoying the new season of Futurama.

it's a complete 50/50 chance shot between a completely terrible episode which is a satire about some modern pop culture (the iphone episode was just plain retarded) and a great sci-fi like episode that actually has good jokes and a thought provoking plot. That's the thing I find with futurama, they never really make mediocre, or decent episodes. They're either awesome or terrible. They tend to be good whenever there's some stuff about the universe or time travel, and suck whenever the plot includes Amy too much. The less amy there is on the screen, the better. The episode where amy was presenting her physics thesis is the only episode I can recall that was about physics / sci fi but also sucked balls.

Very much so. :)

PS

I'm not buying a calendar. I wouldn't have bought one even if I had gotten in it. :) < ooo snaps>

That is the first year sorted, I suppose you know what each one is, they should be the same?

In other news, GREAT result for the Arsenal in the cup today. 4-1 thrashing :P

Hello all those who work with Flash!

I know I completely suck at flash, but I'm here to wish all of you a Happy Madness Day! If you have submitted a Madness flash just PM me with a link to it and I would be more than happy to give it a review!

Worse still, I bet you were at the game. I think you could have had a decent chance of winning the cup. 2 Penalties, oh no.

I'm not bothered, we're gonna win the Champions League this season anyway, so whatever.

I could help but depends what needs to be done. I was going to start on a tetris game, I found there is no good tetris flash game.

Not much, just play through it once (which will take you 20 minutes tops I think) and write down some of your thoughts.

I joined the robotics team at my school and went to my first meeting right after school today. I missed the first few meetings and it's my first year on the team, so I feel like the newbie right now. It's also tough because I've not ventured into hardware programming or robotics at all and can just barely understand the various terms and parts other members are talking about.

Hopefully I can learn quickly. This looks like it's going to be fun if I can. I really don't want to hold the team back with my lack of experience.

Is anyone else here interested in robotics?

I'm interested but never really had a go. Good luck and keep us updated, I'm interested to see where this goes.

Good luck for that, you will have to tell me how it goes, they have a great portfolio of work and seem like a good professional company to work with.

Had my interview yesterday, heard back today. I've been offered to come in for a paid trial over a 2 week period. Looks promising, I'm guessing if I don't fuck up during the project they've got lined up for me they'll take me on full time.

That's awesome, well done on the interview and because it is paid it looks as if they are interested into inciting you to join. As you said, if it all goes to plan you'll have a good full time job on your hands! Hopefully you will have enough time for the NG meet ups!
My first lab session is on tuesday, starting the digital media module. Some of the past work done on the course looks pretty good already, should be good laugh though.

I've only been watching it recently. I caught a few games before, but not regularly.
Skysports on Saturdays, Sundays and I think Thursdays.

I tend to just find whatever I can and record them cause my dad is always watching TV :'(((
