Don't worry, Xeptic, nobody is ever perfectly happy with their own games/movies. It was great. I played it for at least two and a half hours today, on and off.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who found that a little funny.

How can I use this to my advantage?

Xeptic, what I liked about your game was that it was AMBITIOUS.

Often, and I'm guilty of this, we're content with sticking to what we know, just because we know we can pull it off without glitches. (I can code a beatemup engine in my sleep for example)

When you do something that stretches your limits it expands your imagination and abilities in ways that, by far, offset the few glitches, bad reviews, and possible unpopularity of the result.

Doing a project that is challenging tends to re-invigorate your love and passion for coding (or whatever) and reminds you why you love what you're doing.

Each successive project from you will get more honed and refined, so keep pushing yourself! I look forward to seeing what you come out with next.

Cheers for that post! I agree with you all the way, but it's just a shame to see months of work partly go down the shitter (or whatever the expression is) because of something that could've been avoided. I need to spend more time thinking everything out and writing stuff down instead of adding features as I go along next time.

Amen to that. The last project I worked I thought was bug free, but when I exported it the sound fucked up. It worked perfectly when I tested it in Flesh but as soon as I exported it the sound stop working. Why? I don't know. It's fucking bullshit.

This is precisely the reason I recommend tools other than Flash. The reason so much work is wasted is very much the fault of the program.

Part of being a better programmer is to 'plan it out', but also to just use good tools.

Card Fraud

Just got a call from my bank, apparently my account details have been compromised and someone tried to use it yesterday to make a number of purchases. Luckily for me my bank stopped the transactions so I'm not out of pocket at all. Anyone else been victim to any credit/identity theft?

Happened to me a year ago. I live in Alberta and someone in Montreal was using my card for several transactions. The only one that made it through was a 50$ purchase at payless shoes. The rest were denied.

Its an odd phone call to get in the morning. Having some foreign guy ask if you've been in Montreal and if I tried to buy gas or shoes there. I can only blame the internet. I can't think of any other way that kind of information can be made available.

Today I deleted my facebook account, and it felt sooooooooooo fuckin' good.

How good, you ask?

Shots, sushi, and coke lines off a hooker's ass good, and that's real good.

Sure they've got all my data, but who cares? I'm done with their pestering. :)

Not Facebook per se, just a lot of pestering from people who felt compelled to update the status of their bowels and share it with the world, every 10 minutes. It was getting really out of hand. I had a real Gigantor / Draconius moment.

As for Farmville... well... I'll just let you use your vivid imagination to gauge how much I give a damn about rubbish like that. :)

I'm going to be traveling around Peru, Chile and Argentina for three months in 5 weeks and I'm scared I'll get raped, mugged and/or killed, because I don't know any Spanish, because I haven't been learning Spanish as hard as I should, because Jordan's been forcing me to work on this game. In short JordanD is going to get me raped, mugged and/or killed. Other than that I'm doing great!
