I think it would be cool, But I dont see it happening for some reason. It would get good scores no matter how pathetic it is, which I know it wont be if certain people join. It would be cool, any ideas on a story base?

Hmm, good point there, this does seem like it would be a bit elitist in a way but it is representing more then some people who joined a collab, it's more of a group of people who joined a collab along with the community.

I think that's part of the reason I imagine i'd like the teams idea, you've got a week till the deadline and you call upon the help of whoever you can. Can imagine having little team confrences over MSN.. could be fun if people do it.

If your up for this say so (well, enough people have last page). It's quite difficult to get this down on paper I think, which is why most peeps are suggesting Lu to take control :)

Everyone seems to just want to do a collab in general, no one's really given any specifics or basis to what they'd wanna do. I think we should all at least agree around some topic before deciding who heads it up or who's on who's team.

P.S. I'd love to be part of it anyway.

Well, if anything, I'd say people do what they do best. It could be a series of shorts and stuff.

Collab Ideas

Why not just have it be a collab on whatever the user wants. Just limit it to a few specifications like fps, background color, length, etc etc. I mean the theme is its made by flash forum regulars. What more do you need? We'll just represent the flash forum regs to the best of our ability in a few seconds of hardcore flash.
As far as teams, I think it would be better to break the teams up so that each group has an equal amount of experienced animators, with high scoring flashes, as the other.
We could broaden things a bit and make there be limitations like: no vocals, sound effects, or music not made by a flash reg.

Well I like the idea of the Ryder Cup style thing. Or the Eurasia vs the New World or whatever it ends up being. Maybe some respected Reg should take lead (I'm looking at, oh, Para, Blaze, Cybex, Uncle Lu, Kirk and Method here) and start the thread.

Theme and File Size are going to be the key factors here. Frame Rate and Version and BG Colour and Resolution obviously need defining as well. But personally I'm up for anything so long as we're told in advance what our limits are and when the deadline is.

No one-song collabs though. I think I'm not alone in thinking that we've got enough out there

and yes, I took part in one songs. I'll wallow in my hypocracy now...

Fsking PS2
My PS2 came back from the repair shop today. Started rocking out to Guitar Hero 2 and it packs in half way through the solo to Killing in the Name. Same problems, but less frequent. And they put a new laser in too.

Sod it. Buying a new slimline before they all sell out for Christmas... NOTHING should mess with Rage Against the Machine. Even if the vocals are absolutely dire for that cover...

older ps2's cna't play newer games, c'mon, everyone knows this! both ps2 and xbox slowly get worse in time untill you have to buy a new one... or next gen version ;)

As far as which version of flash, I have flash 8. Who here has the oldest flash, and we can work around that.

PS2 Issues

Yea mine broke...two years ago I think...right around the time the slim PS2 came out. I tried getting another used one instead but it broke within a week of getting it. So I've had the slim PS2 ever since and not had a problem with it.

Mine was a launch and gradually died, I got in on the recall thing and sent it in to be fixed but it eventually died again. I bought a new one and it sure is tiny. =)

I'm never buying a launch console again. =P

Something besides Video games...

Fast Food
How do you guys feel about eating fast food? McDonalds, Burger King, etc. will clog your arteries, yet you keep going back, time and time again. Do you guys have a problem with fast food, or do you still eat there regularly without worrying about your health? Is it the convince, the taste, both?

I only ask this because as a Flash Developer, when Im in the zone of developing, Ill run out and get Jack in the Box or something to save some time.

Mine worked for about 2 years, before more-or-less crashing in on itself. The games would slowly stop working, and the viewer for the disks would scratch them. It slowly got worse, then I had to go to ebay.

I'm actually okay with fast food- most of it tastes good, and although I eat it like... once a day i'm still perfectly healthy. I guess it depends on what fast food you eat and what else you do in a day that determines how healthy or unhealthy it really is.

I think the biggest drawback of this type of scene is the lack of active excersize that comes as a bi-product, I am not really a fast food person. Although Jack in the box brings back fond memories of the west coast.

I think my favorite fast food is from in and out burgers, havent had that in years cause im on the east coast...

I think the key is just taking an extended break between projects, then i dont feel so bad stepping away and not getting into the trenches.

Dont care for it much. Some things like 'Maccas taste like cardboard with sauce. The only times I ever eat it, is On occasions when all my friends are, and I cant be bothered to make a Ham roll with lettuce or anything like that.

I think maybe fast food should be 8 times a year. Different for fish and chips, you can have them more. But KFC, Maccas, Red Rooster, all that is 8 times a year tops for me.
