I'm going to look into that, thanks for the mention.

Why can't he just use his Newgrounds slaves to stand in line and buy the phone for him? Better, he could send you and you would finally have a purpose. (Besides, of course, gathering hobos to power the NG Servers)

I looked into that LUA thing and it looks to me like the player would have to learn a whole programming language in order to play the game. I may have looked at the wrong website, though.
If, however, that is the case, then I'd prefer to write a language myself that the player can jump right into without much delay.

Why didn't he send one of his lackeys to queue for him?
I am loving YouTube's new Vuvuzela horn button.

He should have a live cam feed like the one for comic-con.
There are also a couple AS-like language interpreters. BISE, hScript.
Has anyone else downloaded Office 2010 yet? My copy of 2007 came with a free upgrade.
It's going to take a while to get used to the new layout. I can't make many decisions on the quality of the new edition yet, but it looks like it's going to be a better version of 2007.
Hey, you're that person who made that Mr. Popo part in that funny Dragon Ball Z collab. Haha, I really laughed so hard when I saw that. Some funny shit. :P
Yes, I am that person, and I'm glad you liked it. Mr. Popo has always been fascinating to me.
On an unrelated topic, who all is going to Comicon in S.D. ? Just curious. I'm craving ridiculous Mexican food. We don't have any in Oregon (see... it's not just Europe). San Diego has the O.G. legit Mexi dank food. Bad for you on so many levels, but it tastes so right. :)

Really? It seems like we have too many mexican restaurants. And not enough GOOD mexican restaurants.
Plenty of mexicans tho.

Hey console fags. PC gaming is expensive?
http://store.steampowered.com/resub
Complete valve pack for 60 euro, including some of the greatest games of history: full half life & half life 2 series, portal, cs1.6/css, and other fun games like tf2, l4d (l4d2), day of defeat, and more
All of the COD games every released except mw2 for 25 euros
Huge THQ pack for 50 euros, including company of heroes, dawn of war 2, metro 2033, and many many more (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/4587/
). Dawn of war 2 and its 3 expansions alone are worth 50 euros imo.
Actually I'm gonna stop here because the number of amazing games sold for a 50-80% discount is junst insane. Valve sure know how to sell games. I don't think anyone has made so much money for games that people stopped buying long ago, and I don't think anyone ever got the chance to buy so many amazing things for such low prices before. Fuck you console assholes, go suck on it.

It's not the games that are expensive. It is finding a PC that is able run the game better than a console that is expensive.

The money I've saved on games and subscriptions to services (xbox live) has made this a much cheaper purchase. Also I don't need a console on top of the PC ownership.
Mediocre PC: $300
Console: $250
Good PC: $500
Not to mention that having a good PC also affects your every day internet browsing, and also very much affects your use of flash and photoshop or whatnot.
I don't know what you guys play on consoles, but I will be basking in nerdy glory for the next few weeks on a load of classic vidya games that i just bought for a total of less than 20 euros.

My PS3 runs games beautifully and it cost ~$300.
At 6/25/10 11:49 AM, citricsquid wrote: yeah and how much did your PC cost? Now add them together, I bet it cost more than my PC, which I use for gaming and being a PC.
Irrelevant point. I've had my xbox360 for close to 5 years now. I've bought 2 PCs in that time.
PS2 had a lifecycle of close to 10 years. I bought close to 3 PCs in that time.
A PC has a life of about 3 years. Most consoles have double (or triple) that.
And you don't have to be stuck in a shadowy room with a tiny screen. (And yes, I have gone HDMI from my PC to 56" TV with a wireless controller for certain game, and tried WCIII on my TV with bluetooth keyboard/mouse) Still doesn't have the same feel.
I like them both, for different reasons. (haven't turned on a console in 3 weeks aside to play a DVD, because I've been playing PC games, but I play console a majority of the time)
Stop the garbage argument. It's personal preference and both sides have fanboys apparently.
there's tons of games I can get for a console that I can't get for a PC (and visa versa) so any and all arguments for one vs. the other are moot.
sidenote: the only game i've been playing recently is TF2, on a mac, using a trackpad to aim. what does that make me?

a noob
Fuck valve valvity fuck
They just ruined CSS, not that it wasn't ruined before but they fucking re-ruined it with a side of ruin.
Capped server tickrate to 66 god knows the fuck why, reg and hitboxes completely changed (for the better i'm sure but it's hard to adjust after like 5 years), stupid fucking achievements, dominating people, the gay ass death cam "YOU BEEN KILLED BY" and a picture of his ass, why did they have to turn it into TF2? I do like the orange box engine though, it looks a lot nicer, expecially effects of explosions and smokes, and I get higher FPS. Also, wall damage has been severely reduced which is stupid, an awp shot through double doors does like 20 damage.

That's different. Maybe for noobs and shit that play casually it's great, but they didn't just make minor changes, they were pretty drastic and it totally changed the game to something different. That sucks
Re: They changed it, now it sucks.
That was a good article Glaiel. Many truths contained within, and the accompanying LOTR comic was golden. I don't mind people re-imagining that which came before. In fact, I do a lot of that myself. What I cannot tolerate, is people re-imagining something cool, and dropping the ball...HARD. Some examples are in order:
Battlestar Galactica : Rough start, got good, tapered off, died in a pool of refuse.
The Prisoner : You UK mates should be pissed as hell about what those jokers did to one of the best British series ever. The new one was, in a word, retarculous.
Transformers : I sort of liked it better the way it was...without the recruiting propaganda & american car company propaganda. The Megan Fox porn industry propaganda was OK, but she's not even gonna be in 3. Why suffer through it?
The point is that, re-imagining something does not have to be a brutal sin. It can be done well, provided that people respect the original content they are manipulating, dream up some truly innovative new stuff to bring to the table, and see it through to the end (thus forming a complete thought).
Seriously, if people fuck up TRON, I'm going to go postal. Oh, and if anyone ever feels like they need to remake 'Blade Runner', drop that thought. I'll find you.

Does Ridley Scott cutting and re-cutting and re-re-cutting and re-re-re-cutting it count?
I can forgive Ridley. I've seen the released version, the Director's cut, the workprint even (which is arguably my favorite). If it is your baby, I say do what you will with it. I'd like to point out though, that Ridley just incorporated some alternate shots and different music choices in his re-edits. It's not like he went all George Lucas, and put rings around everything exploding or tried to overcompensate for efx that didn't work out in the 80's. That's more of an affront. The cables lifting the Syd Mead spinner police car are still clearly in the most recent manifestation, and I'm kind of glad they are. People who found workarounds with miniatures, matte paintings, and camera trickery, that people now accomplish with sweatshop CGI, fascinate me. It's a dying art, sadly.
Can we not get off this console vs PC daboggle?
