EEEEEWW
If it was salsa, I'd swim in it. But hummus is just gross.

Archon, get on google talk, I need to send you somethinggg.
HAHAHAhahaha
got nape physics engine working in Flash CS4 as a haXe compiled .swc library :P
writing the tests now in AS3 to compare for and speed detriment (shouldn't be any at all really since it's compiled by haXe)
Looking good so far, though it crashes flash player when run in the browser, hopefully only because i'm using the 10.1 prelease beta player, as it's fine in flash player 10 in standalone!
(Let me know if it crashes for you or not, and whether you're using prelease beta of 10.1)
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/3ea5 2dc4221dc3e3d7c5e2d570dcc1d3
Note, should it work for you, that that was created from Flash IDE in AS3, (though the physics library is obviously not compiled or written in AS3)

Lagtasmic.

Could you compare it against:
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/832d 658a877eae8c35597b74728548cd
which is not compiled through the flash IDE and AS3?

flash player version?

I didn't even know I had that version.
THAT would explain the crashing then, it seems the pre-release beta version doesn't like using my physics engine through a .swc in an AS3 project :P

This ones so bad I can't even move them most the time.

Yeah, I can't even play team fortress 2, dammit.

For me both run at a solid 10fps.

Okay either you updated the files or this proves my macbook pro is the sexiest computer, but i'm getting like 40fps for both of these and it looks damn fine.
10 rly?

No, it just proves my computer is crap. :(
Both worked fine but it was at like 15/16fps all the time. They both ran identically for me :S

(Post-)Hardcore, Metal, Heavy Rock.
Anything like that? If so, name me some of your favourite bands
Sure!
My favourite metal band at the moment is Sylosis, such a perfect mix of epic melodies and brutal riffs :) Im pretty sure they will explode as soon as they release their new album.
Also a big fan of Darkest Hour if you are into metalcore, Deliver Us is a fucking sublime album.
Check out Black Tide too if you havent heard them, pretty sweet Hard Rock band, their album is SO good for just driving around in the sunshine.
Destroy the Runner are kinda whiney but you might like them if you like BFMV's new stuff! (I hate it, so much)
I was going to recommend Evita too, but just visited their myspace and discovered they are breaking up, which is pretty gutting!
Seriously though, Sylosis. I have been learning all the songs from their album over the last few months and it has made me such, such a better guitarist. Check em out!
Sorry about that to people that dont like metal! fuck you! :3

Guessing your computer's not great either then :P (granted this is 'meant' to be the computer killing demo)

Then yeh, youre macbook pro is faster than my desktop here :P (just)

iiii'm guessing something like an intel core 2 or something from a few years back or something?
(see point above on computer killed)

If everyone else's experiance serve correctly then, you must also have the 10.1 prerelease beta player installed?

Hey, my single core 1.8ghz processor with 1gb of RAM running Vista is not a bad computer.
Anyway, real nice engine, it's really good. Might try this out sometime.
Also I like the monkey. :)
Cat
My cat lost a leg. :( Got hit by a car, yesterday, and got a leg ripped off. Poor cat must've travelled about 2 hours dragging itself along the floor to get back here. When we found it it has grass and grit in the end of the stump which used to be its leg. Dragged itself all the way here. He's doing fine now, though. Limping around on 3 legs. It's doing okay, but now I has 3 legged cat. Oh well. Cat :(

That sucks :( One of my cats has no tail, well, it's kind of like a bunny rabbit stump.
Before we got him about 9 years ago a bunch of chavs tied his tail to a firework and it blew off D: He's pretty much a ninja cat right now though, doesn't seem to have lost his stability and catches birds and mice like a beast.
At 5/9/10 08:42 AM, citricsquid wrote: Stable 60FPS when not moving shit around
that's beacuse fps is set at 60 (since fp 10.1 doesn't allow higher the demos are set at that now)
and it reaches max beacuse when everything is sleeping there are literally 0 computations being done apart from some empty iteratinos which do nothing.

He's a brave little guy though, it seems.

Cool, is he behind me?
Briefly let my cat outside and he ran as fast as he could and dived under a fence. Silly catface.
physics are at a stable 60fps when idle, "real" jumps between 50 and 80fps. When moving stuff, both settle at 50fps. pretty impresive, delta

High 5.

20 idle? couldn't have been properly idle, if you had that low an fps it's probable that the there weren't enough iterations to allow the world to actually come to rest properly.

Very cool, and it worked great for me. 30 fps was the lowest it got, and that's when all hell was breaking loose. 47fps idle.
At 5/9/10 10:15 AM, dELtaluca wrote: Nape.
What's weird is the one compiled in the flash IDE runs ever so slightly faster for me, but it's so small (1fps) that it's most probably nothing. Also the flash IDE compiled one randomly the movement for some reason.
haha, my response to the physaxe demo swf using the physaxe word as part of the demo:
