RE: Alchohal
age restrictions mean nothing when it comes to these things. Pretty much anyone over 10 can get beer somewhere, somehow.

Restrictions usually mean out in public, like kids are allowed to have caffeine at home, but not in public, if the parents are there. At home its allowed to have alcohol, but if the parents let you get drunk... parents go to jail. And that's never going to happen. :)
RE: Alchohol
that whole caffine in public thing must be an australian thing, because thats pretty far fetched, as far as canada goes. i think.....
RE:MOTIVATION
Well
1)First Open flash
2)Then hack it to make unavailable the X or the close or the ALT+X Commands
3)After That Hide the CPU
4)Finally put really loud music so you cant sleep, and lock yourself inside your room.
Then the only thing you can do is flash, when you finish, save it on a cd, throw it through the window to a friend, jump from your window, and use a grenade to shut down your freaking PC
(Make shure you have an Ensuranse Policy to get some money to pay the damage

You're 14. Do they not have drinking restrictions in Australia?
I'll answer that for him. Drinking restrictions are a bunch of crap. No one listens to them, ever. I'm 18, in SOME countries (perhaps even most) I would be able to drink, but here I have another three years. I've been drinking for the past three years though. I'll admit its only been a decent amount this past year. You just need to know the right people or go to parties.
At this point, my dad flat out told me if I want a beer I can grab one from the fridge, just not the last one.
RE: Alcohol
I've never had an acholic drink, not even more than one sip. I dont like the taste.
RE: New Forums Awards Host
I think the current one is going alright for now, Theres no real reason to change it to someone else, its really quite fine as is.

its true, I go to church and get myself a fix from the communion wine. Jesus' blood is so refreshing. And then theres lots of other opportunities lying around the house. Personally I wish to go to Ireland for a real Irish Pub experience...

Heh. What A stupid thing to bring up :)
I've gone and become an SSBB addict... what to do, what to do...

That sounds so very, very pathetic, I love it. =D
This sig is 100% effective protection from all hexes, curses, evil spirits and bad karma. Guaranteed.
bold titles
do we really have to when we're quoting? that seems redundent
RE: Bold Titles
Yeah, its to keep subjects in line. Make sure you include them for the mean time. We'll start phasing them out possibly in the future, but lets stick to them for now.

RE: Bold title4s
why only for the time being? is this not supposed ot be a perminant fix?

Yea, I'm not sure what the age restriction is on church wine. It's actually not bad.

We started them to get the flows of conversation sorted out, and whether or not we'll keep them forever will depend on how well people treat this thread. As long as we see the lessening of spam in thread, we'll be okay and we might be able to remove these bolded title training wheels.

Has anyone here downloaded an .swf to .fla converter and used it to decomplie good flashes? When I do this and dissect the .fla, and watch every tiny aspect frame by frame, I learn a lot about different techniques and tricks. I would totally reccomend this for anyone serious about animation.
RE: decompiling
the thing is, there are ways of studing animation without using decmompilers. they tend to have bad rep....and i tryed it out once with Alien Hominid, looked at some of the code. Thing is...i dont learn by taking it all in one big step, i need to take small dosages. So it pretty much all whent over my head at the time. So i dont see a point in it. Never did use the program again.
New topic: Swf decompiling
I'd say just download swfs and watch them frame by frame in your flash player. besides, a lot of flashers lock their swfs so you can't open them in fla for a REASON. plus, flash compresses files, so i don't know how they could go back

I have one (not a commercial one but a testing one adobe use (or used to use )) that does the job pretty perfectly on flash 8, doesn't work with 9 as far as I recall though
Dear Inglor
Hey Buddy,
Just wondering if you can chuck me a link to where you got your forums. They seem really nice and effective, if you can give me a link that would be great. Thanks.

3 AM Project Completion
I have a project due at 8:30...in other words, 5 hours...
I just finished it...IT IS AWFUL. But it is done. Better than I expected for a bit...worst than I had planned though. I kind think it will fall to pieces on the way to class...I had no time to clue or anything...I used masking tape...I might do what I can tomorrow morning to make it presentable...if I don't run out of tape...I had to finish it in the dark so my roommate could sleep.
Speaking of sleep...4 hours is better than none.
RE: 3Am Project Completion
Um, if it sucks, you just going to leave everyone on edge waiting to see what it is. Giver us pictures, or something like that. What is it? If its in this forum Im guessing its a flash movie or game of some sort?
RE: Swf decompiling
I did that with a few flashes that I didn't know how they were made. I found a lot of great tricks I didn't know about before. So I think it's useful, but you learn more if you just practice.
RE: Swf decompiling
I some times watch FBF movies frame by frame (like stick movies) to see how the author made the effects. But it's annoying when the movie is in a big Movie clip, and you can't pause it :P
Re: Best lyric ever/favorite song
Best lyric:
"We've been battered and left for dead
We've been beaten and we have bled
But we always made it through
Versus the world"
Favorite song: At the moment my favorite song is Conquer All by Behemoth
Hell ive lurked around long enough not to post something ;)
Australia and Caffine??
I dunno but ive never seen a kid be rejected a can of coke because it contains caffine and they were too young. I dunno where that idea came from. But back to the whole drinking thing, I didnt really start drinking much until this last year mainly because I hadnt found anything I liked until recently, good ole beam and cola does the trick every time :)
RE: Swf decompilers
I used an swf decompiler mainly to see how different artists structured their libraries. I did initially want to use it so I could see how they structured their code but that at times was more confusing. The other advantage was I would use the decompilers against mobile phone websites to suss out where they stored their samples (If they didnt steal so much from the stupid hell Id might feel half bad) The most helpful thing personally Ive learnt with animating hasnt come from decompiling others completed work but watching others work on their projects and explain their processes. If anyones seen the stuff luis has posted on ole youtube youll know what I mean.
NG Update
ok, not checked the general thread yet, and no idea if this is old or not but the 'Multi-author preferences' no longer have " Accept all", only 'Hold requests for approval" and " Turn down all requests"
i guess this is a good thing, now big spam groups will have to wait for approval to submit their crap.
if anyone wants to add me as their buddy they can go ahead, i'll accept it eventually :D

I forgot to add a header. This is for the above post. Sorry for El Double Postero.
Re: 3 AM Project Completion

I have no digital camera. It was a book made out of construction paper and cardboard. The craftsmanship was pitiful. It was only supposed to look like an open book. you could've like turn the pages. It was open to page with a bunch of funky letters written on it. It was a project where you had to design your own alphabet and display it tastefully. I expected the professor to tell me it was terrible, but his only criticism was that it could not be used like a real book.
RE: Alcohol

You suck :P
loljk
I don't drink nearly as much as I'd like to; mainly because of a lack of social occasions (I'm such a loser :D). I'm making a note of always knowing at least five people who pass for 18 at any given occasion.
Anyway, the Christmas thing was prett good, even though my costume sucked (Kirk). The thing is, crappy dance music and crappy dancing is about 50x more fun when you're not totally sober, so I ended up being bored shitless for the first four or so hours, then having a totally kickass time towards the end when loads people started offering to buy me drinks. I got to an awesome stage where I wasn't so pissed that I was falling over things, throwing up or waking with a significant hangover, but enough so that all my usual neuroses and inhibitions could go fuck themselves, and everything was totally enjoyable. The last hour or so made it all worth while :)
