They kept the event kinda quiet last year until the last minute... luckily (conveniently?) they plan it for the weekend before GDC so everyone down for GDC can go to the summit.

Anyway it doesn't look like they made any official notice of the award nominations being open, so take a look and nominate some flash games.

I'm not sure how nominations work (whether they judge all the nominations, or go by which games get the most nominations, or a mix of both), but it couldn't hurt to nominate.

I found this browser that's based as if it was a game, and it's pretty awesome but pointless. Everything's 3D and crazy. It's still in alpha so quite buggy and for me a bit slow but that might be because I have a terrible PC. Looking at really long pages in one long screen is pretty nice as well, but it's too annoying to use properly. You can also do 'co-op browsing' online but haven't tried it yet.

Just spent the day installing XP and loads of drivers on my newish desktop :)

I had an average gfx card in, but my motherboard wasnt happy with it and would ditch the drivers i installed after restarting. I found a better gfx in my office, put it in, loaded up the drivers and straight away it worked.

That fucked me off a bit, but i'm now cheering ;)

I've noticed an awful lot of american TV shows do that :/ None do here in the UK, but our series are substantially shorter than in america too. Our series last 6 episodes (sometimes, but rarely, a series will last around 10) whereas in the US you get shows like How I Met Your Mother lasting ~20 episodes per season :/

A couple of weeks ago I started using the new battle.net, where you can input your CD keys and the games are available on your account to download anywhere. I thought it'd be pretty cool, did all ma shits and i was going to downloaded WoW onto my new desktop, then I remembered all the patches and I count be arsed.

Instead I installed diablo 2 and warcraft 3, and realised they come preloaded with the patches and are alot quicker installing than the discs for some reason.

It's cool but it makes absolutely no sense to me unless he switches out the bitey character every day or something. the stats in the corner are just....what is that for?

Oh wow! I didn't see the tron AI challenge. It looks incredible. I'd definitely be up for trying that one day, it's much more interesting than the bots war math-wise. As for the bots war, if you do the 2010 one I could whip a quick 1 on 1 traditional fight with december 31 as the deadline. My only concern is that I'm not very experienced with flash and I'm worried that it might affect the people who code differently. The layout is very simple though, I don't think it should cause many problems.

I kind of don't like it. It feels really out of place with the orange. The art itself is incredible, but it just seems 'off.'

If all of the buttons (forum buttons...ect..) were the same theme, it would be dandy.

What they SHOULD do, is change the style of the entire website to reflect the blue, rather than having the headers in the lovely blue, but leaving the main content all orange

Yea that'd be completely awesome if all the text and other links were also blue, it'd probably take way too long to change all the graphics though.
