Fair point. Also, I'm well pleased that your read the logo as Origins. =)

A comment of yours I actually appreciate.

Anyone recommend any good reads? (Preferably sciencey or interesting at least)

If you've not read them:

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, 1984, 2001, Monkey Planet (Planet of the Apes), Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass, Small Gods and any (and all) of the Myron Bolitar novels by Harlen Coben.

how about the entire hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series, ending with the newest one by eoin colfer?

the newest one isnt as great as the others but eoin mimics Adams' style quite well

BOOKS

I'm more of a fantasy reader actually, Pendragon and Eragon are deff two series to look into, if you're into that sorta thing :P
(Eragon is typical dragon boy fantasy, but really good, Pendragon however is like crossing worlds and stuff, its damn cool!)

Eragon was quite a good book, haven't read the sequel. The Eragon movie is completely terrible though, they took so many short cuts just to make the movie shorter that pretty much the whole story was ruined. I would have much prefered watching a four hour movie that was actually good like the story than watch the 90min piece of crap they made. Another good series is The Edge Chronilces!!!

omg i haven't read that one in a while. loved that series and the little maps at the beginning of each book. the story didnt take place in a really big area so the maps were small and you could get a good idea of where everything was easily.

i still remember the maps. but ive forgotten the LOTR maps.

I pronounce it like drake-bell.

The book version of 21 is way better than the movie. I really liked it.

Lighthouse Girl
Argh! I can't believe I missed it! It was even on my calender! Oh well, I'll have to wait for him to put it on video.

I just finished a pencil test on my new animation desk(yayearlychristmas). Its a rough blocking pass of an acting scene. I'm trying to make it look like the characters thinking, and hopefully portray an idea of what's happening. I'm not sure if it's very clear. If you guys could try and guess the emotions or thoughts of my character, that'd help me out a lot!

He's surprised, then in disbelief, then angry, hits a wall, then is sad or something and the camera turns a bit to show more of a side view?

mine is Germ. It's about this guy who develops an advanced strain of ebola which spreads all around the world. And he has this list of 10,000 people, and whoever is on that list will get ebola, everyone else will just develop a common case of the flu.

I have 50 so I win (or lose in the "having friend" department).

Does anyone else watch Dexter? The last episode of the current series (or last series as it is now) had a terrible ending. I was not happy. It kinda made sense but I did not want to see that happen and it's basically a big "well.. what now?" sort of cliffhanger :(

YES I DO, BUT I'M GLAD YOU DIDN'T HAVE ANY REAL SPOILERS IN THERE BECAUSE I'M YET TO SEE THE LAST EPISODE!! :O

After I watched it I went downstairs to my roommate and was just waving my arms frantically at him and shouting DEXTERRRRRR. I wanted to express my emotions without spoiling it for him.

Too bad it's like a year until they air the next season, I'm very curious about what direction the show will go after the last episode.

It's sad, but that's how most shows on the telly are. They Pavlov you out with 4 episodes, take a mid season hiatus, leak out about 6 more episodes, leave you with a cliffhanger, and a warm fuzzy "fuck you" message that says something really intelligent like, "See you in 2012". You see, I used to watch 'LOST', and I'm pretty sure they invented this formula. Curse you J.J. Abrams.
