Life's going good
At the moment my life is actually going good.

I'm looking forward to Thursday as I'm 16 so I can do all that now legal at 16 crap.

I'll finally be able to become a member of the national Library.
I'm getting a camera on Thursday so I'll finally be a be to take up photography. Got a nice £130 camera for only £70. Sweet.

Plus I have exams all this week and they are actually going well, even my language ones.

I'm actually starting to like my cat even though the other day he bought a bird in, ripped it's head off, pulled all it's guts out all over the floor, and started tossing it about the room.

And finally I'm going to ask my date to my prom to be my Girlfriend and I have a strong feeling that she'll say yes.
So wish me luck for that though or else it'll ruin my almost perfect week. :)

One bad note though...today I tried pressing the equals button 20,000 times on my calculator but only had time to do 19,900. Gutting, completely gutting. :(

Not sure why he left, he went into military service or whatever for a year, perhaps that's what threw him off the NG spectacle. Since then he has been working 6 months or so in the US for FFR and studying game programming.

You need to store the colour value (the hex colour value) and make it fade to white (0xffffff) or whatever your background colour is.. so have it loop through an array of them and increase slowly til 0xffffff.

Couldn't he use 32 bit and just fade out the alpha channel so it works with any color background?

Well the top bar with your name looks completely perfect. The buttons at the side are too cramped though, you need to allow for more room at the top and bottom which would make the top bar too big so I suggest you go for a bar underneath with all the links, kind of like Newgrounds bar but longer than the title, corners not rounded and a bit darker than the header with brighter text. The pages are all good except they are also too cramped. And the blue background doesn't fit as well as it could with the header. The header is much brighter than everything else you attracts too much attention.

It's really just that it looks better when the space at the side is the same as the space underneath everything and space on the top of the title should be equal to the space underneath. In games there's not much space underneath the title, the blog looks ok :D

The blue is just too dull, you could make it duller but that might take away from how good it looks, so make the blue a bit brighter maybe or use a light yellow, or put a bright yellow contacts/copright bar at the bottom to balance it out, see if reducing the shadow does anything.

I think it's just too big, you could fit another HDXmike title in there, half the space above the title and make the header have a bit that comes down for the links to fit into.

I disagree, I think it should be smaller and the links added in a horizontal line below the header. I think that would flow a bit nicer and give enough positive space to the header.

Yup! With bitmapData, you can assign either 16bit or 32bit, and if you choose 32 you call different methods to manipulate it, like setPixel32() instead of setPixel().

So he could just draw a bmd object to the entire screen (with transparency set to true) and set the pixels to solid colors wherever the mouse goes. He could store those in a vector/array and fade them out by calling setPixel32();

Sorry for the double... he'd have to modify it so he wasn't using the lineTo and moveTo commands though. Not sure the standard drawing API supports transparency.

Stuff happens, nothing you can do, it's their loss, after all, they may not care, art classes suck as animation, 3D, etc are there so that the only ones who learn are the ones who actually care about the subject; ergo, 1 or 2 students for every 30 kids running around in the computer lab.
