I agree it is different and it brings a lot to the table. The narration and writing was fantastic, however it kind of loses the whole 'interpreting the story without dialogue but through bitey's actions instead' feel. The dialogue was as best it could be, but it it's almost like a lot of other 'trailer' or teaser ways of telling a story.
Don't get me wrong, I do like the new installment but what I love most about the series is the limited use of dialogue to tell a story and showing that you can tell a story through awesome animation storyboarding as well.
It will be interesting to see what he does with this because as the story gets more complex it gets harder and harder to tell a story with limited dialogue. So this kind of foreshadows a more in-depth story ahead. I remember from the first episode there was that witch and now it looks like she or he is back in this one (all those flying silhouettes were another clue).
All in all, I love the storytelling without words, but I suppose the story is skipping between past and present so dialogue is sort of needed for that. Adam's other animated shorts use dialogue so I am not completely surprised by this decision. I can't wait to see where this goes.
