Sure. Thanks.
This generation is so entirely ruined, I feel so bad for the rest of the world.
oh Zyph... I feel your pain. I live in a community where something called, "NOW that's what I call Pop pusillanimous bullshite vol. something", is considered a new release. People can't even be bothered to research what they really like anymore. That's scary. It's just so much easier to do what you're told. The Wal-Mart solution. Thanks so much for that suckas.

People have been saying that since Socrates. I know there are things that I grew up with and loved that are utter foolishness to those that are older than me, so I just accept that people like what they like and don't really care whether or not I give them permission to.
But then how come that every good musician has died (lots at age 27) and there's no musician spawning lately, It's like, there's no good bands forming for this generation, only Disney Channel

Must be some pretty easy frame by frame for you to be hitting F7 twice in a row, CTRLZ (ONLY ONCE!) and then more F7 O.o

i'm assuming you're drawing something after you hit each f7
Anyone ever heard of flash not compiling correctly in as3 because of a certain movieclip's presence on the stage? The clip has no code whatsoever, but when it's there the swf won't run correctly, and when it's deleted or made into a guide layer, the swf runs fine. Really confusing me.
Damn it was ages ago since I used Flash for something more than quick tests, what does F7 do? :P
I'm too lazy to open it up.
Also, I post too rarely :)

Do you get any errors?

No errors reported, but here are some more details:
Whenever I add a new clip, I have to remove a different clip for the file to compile...like either delete it from the stage or turn the layer into a guide layer. Weeeeiiiirrddd!
At 12/4/09 07:05 PM, zrb wrote: The layer its on or the only layer within the clip itself ?
The layer the clip is on, basically telling the compiler to ignore that layer.
Anyone wanna draw me a pixel character? Ive sat on my laptop, for like 5 hours drawing. Had a decent idea but thought itd be to much effort to animate and wouldnt be worth it. I so far have repeatable ground and an idea.
I love game design :'(

Maybe its time to create a new file and copy-paste all the previous assets excluding that deffective clip that may have started this ?
Problem remains even after copying everything over to a new file.

yes, if you assigned it a class
either
1. the class is defined but not goodly
2. the class isn't defined, flash creates it, and the clip has the same instance name as a clip that is on the previous frame, but is of a different class (flash tries to cast junk around and fails)
None

And apparently a programmer now!
Update on problem:
We found out the problem with crazy as3 - There was a gotoAndStop on the 1st frame of the .fla which prevented the compiler from loading all the dynamically attached graphics before it redirected, so the more graphics I added, the fewer it was able to attach to the stage.
Adding a single blank frame at the beginning of the fla (and changing nothing else) fixed it.
Stupid flash.
I spent the whole afternoon making stencils and graffiti, and plan to make the same tomorrow.
Fucking neat.
I'll post a picture as soon as I find a way to post the one I have in my cellphone, but my computer doesn't seem to be able to find it...
School is totally the best thing ever once you're in a course that you like. I rather disliked high school because i dont care for literature, science, math, etc etc etc.
But when my homework is "Make a website that has flash in it, build your room in 3D animation, and draw a picture" i am just giddy XD

man the last time I heard about Tell Target was reading a tutorial on Flash 4 in 2001

it's simply because AS2 SUCKS
Really. AS2 might seem "easier" on the surface but it's one hell of an inconsistent and buggy language that it takes way too much time working around it's limitations and bugs than it actually does making the game.
AS3 might be a little more advanced but it's consistent and enforces good coding practice. AS2 allows for too much stuff it shouldn't.
also pm me if you want to test a flash game and have a half hour to spare.
what no wacom today? that's weird.
anyways i have horrible memory, and i ended up attempting to make a backup of my school animation project, which is on a flash drive, when i realized that i forgot it at school. i still haven't gotten it back.
hooray for irony...
looks like the only flash that had a chance of me finishing it is gonna be lost to the ages.
Sig made by me
Once again i'm falling down a mountain like a metaphor
Here ends another post by the grand master of all things: fluffkomix

I think it's really hard to find a good contributor with no tablet.
There always seems to be that one stubborn gem in the bunch, though...

Sucks to hear about your flash drive,
I have a pretty damn bad memory as well.
I'm pretty smart, but small and frequent memory mistakes
make me seem like a real bonehead sometimes.

...
oh wait. Yeah, he does need a tablet. I'm surprised he didn't enter for the tablet give away last year.
