A 'bug report' from Kongregate.
"this game is the most sukest game i have ever played in my life and i am 13 years old why would someone wan't to wast there time clicking 100 times"
I like the fact that he uses his age as if to say, "At the ripe old age of 13, I have seen the world. After these 13 years, I thought nothing would surprise me. I thought I'd seen the highest highs and the lowest lows. Then I saw your game and found a nadir previously unimaginable - I'm amazed you can still surprise me at this point but there you are."

Interesting... how can knowing this help with everyday flash making?

That looks like it's going to be an awesome game!! How much of the game have you done?
Enough to show an example or demo or stuff?

It can't.
It can help with loading SWF files in c++ so I can extract graphics and animations from a SWF instead of using annoying sprite sheets

Awesome! Saves a lot of work in the long run, I bet.
Didn't Tommy from Team Meat do something like that as well? (link)
Best of luck Glaiel; It's amazing stuff that you're doing!

He did a flash EXPORTER which runs a javascript plugin in flash that packs images into a texture then exports it with tweening information and stuff (i.e. bitmaps)
I'm doing a flash IMPORTER which takes an SWF and lets you extract vector graphic data from the swf file for rendering (which you can then render as vector or convert to bitmaps then render at runtime).

Ah, I wasn't too sure what exactly you were doing, and that was the only thing I could relate it to.
My bad.

I like how you do your vector vegetation, ive started to get a bit pissed with vectors though , i tend to do a lot more backing in PS now, i much prefer raster work , i feel like it lets you add more emotion but its only really necessary in animation i geuss
good stuff !

I think that's what they did for Castle Crashers. Very neat idea =P
Sup, bitches :)
You could take a look at haXe's format library. It can already read swf and abc. I had fun getting the abc from the ActionScript3 tag and reading it with the format library to create a very simple decompiler.

Ok guys, I'm working on a new game and I'm trying to make the Platform engine feel perfect.
How's this feel.

I found this game fun, although it has many flaws, I liked the boss fights :D

This any better. Still got reasonably low friction now but it's not over the top anymore.
Also increased jumpheight and decreased gravity to give it a slightly more relaxed feel while speeding up the man allowing for more agile movements and longer jumps.

I like the patchman on the left, but the guys on the right look a little out of place

it's a lot better now. but there are a couple things until it's nearly perfect. i feel like there should be some max speed for horizontal movement so you can't run over gaps. And maybe make the moving blocks separate classes/objects because it could cause problems later on (right now you continuously are in a fall state while moving down so it limits your movement abilities). Also, it would allow you to do much faster up and down and left to right movement of the block so the block doesn't move into your character too fast while up movement is going on, and you can keep up with horizontal movement without having to run along with it.
sorry for run-ons, stream of thought
