Re: Kinda off topic FLASH zelda etc

That would be cool. But for it to be just as popular as the Mario anniversary collab, you'd have to be a pretty respectable artist to have that idea take off.

RE: David Firth posting

Man, i wonder. Everytime someone makes a post about Krinkels, or some of the guys that are more popular (i.e. David Firth) somehow they come here and answer to that post. Even Adam Phillips came once if i recall correctly.

How do they know? :O "beep beep someone posted on ng bbs about you" alarm or something similar? :P

re: gmsdklgjksl

It's a special sense. I only read a few posts before I came across this one. Also if someone posts a rumour about you being a paedophile then they're asking for a response.

Well still, how lucky can you be that you just "happened" to see the post ? :P Oh well.

Hmm, I'm not sure I have. You might have to go into more detail.

Re: Lock Picking

Sounds like the mini-game in Dead to Rights...

I don't think I've seen that in flash before but it sure doesn't sound very interesting either.

RE: New game idea - Lock-picking

i <3 oblivion. i totally got 130 hours out of that game, and i was immersed until the last 10 minutes, because once you beat it, there's really nothing else to do.

but the idea of having a more in-depth version of Oblivion's lock-picking system sounds interesting. i can't say it's a good or bad idea yet. however, make sure the system is intuitive for users...i'd hate to see a programmer work so hard on something, only to have it poorly designed for users and have it flop.

RE: Relatable flash question
I make the menu last. It's good to get the main game out of the way first IMO. And I reckon some games don't need menus at all - it's good to get straight into the action.

RE: 3D Class... or something
That's pretty awesome. Is all that just done by one class? Sorry I couldn't give you the keith peters article earlier. xD

Rumors/David F./etc

Turtle or whoever it was... dont start rumors, i hate that shit.... soon someone tells someone and someone tells someone with a slight variation and suddenly its all distorted and shit.. some time ago someone spread a rumor that i have some feud with Adam or something retarded and its a distraction and unwarranted. Keep your rumor mill to yourself.

RE: Mod styles

Every mod has a different style of moderating and that is also something to consider.. theres some shit that users do that Neg wouldnt fret about but ill lock over, and theres some stuff that i am not that vigilant of that perhaps John is more prone to do something for. Its his style, we're all humans and not machines so I stand by it. In the end we still love you all.
Except turtle cause he started the most rediculous rumor ive ever heard.

RE: David Firth - Ghey?

actually...on the wiki, it just says Burnt Face Man is gay, not David himself.

"Burnt Face Man, a comedy series (7 episodes) about a superhero with a badly burnt face. People accuse him of being gay, even though he states he is, in fact, not."

Self esteem

on a scale of 0 to 100, how would you rate how much self-esteem or self-confidence you have, with 100 being "omfg, i roxxor".

i rate myself.....32.

Re: Self Esteem

Well, I'm no emo, and I'm confident in myself, so I'd have to say a 90.

I just couldn't think of a reason to have it be any lower.

No more animated sigs. :(

Self Esteem

Around 90 I guess. Just like the guy before me I don't see any reason it should be lower, I've always been confident (or whatever its called)

I rate myself 1337.

Nah, around 80/90 i suppose.

RE: Self Esteem

Depends on when you ask. Right now, I'd probably say about... mid 70s, because I'm in a slack. Sometimes I'm WAAY too overconfident, meaning like 100 or so, lol. Also, sometimes I just feel really insecure for some reason during the day because something embarresing happened or I was proven wrong, which usually lowers it to about 50s. In short, it depends completely on the situation.

What shall i do with Jesus?

I have the alias Jesus sitting around wanting some attention, but what shall ido with it?

Should i change my alias to Jesus for a chritmasy theme?
Should i permenantly change to Jesus?
Should i try and sell Jesus?
Should i remain as Cybex and just use Jesus as an ALT and for comical purposes?

Nope. It uses OOP (kindasortamaybe), but I've not compressed it to run as a standalone class to be imported into Flash yet, so currently all the code sits on root, smiling at me.

Maybe one day I'll actually buck up the courage to go about making a game properly. But until now I'll keep bolting together everything as I go along.

Imagine "Herecomeseverybody.com"
Thanks for the tip Mogly. Saw the last half of it (which means, yes, I saw Doki in his mask, and people rattling on about Youtube and Myspace and that MMO I really should look into sometime...). If people are looking for it on itsaseriesofyoutubesandnotabigtruck or other methods of getting a hold of tv shows, you're looking for Imagine's episode of www.herecomeseverybody.com. It's a BBC show, so maybe they'll be podcasting it or something. They seem to like that kind of thing nowadays.

Forgot how much Second Life actually piqued my interest. Think I'll go have a look at it again and contemplate buying virtual space the size of Tenerife.

Self Esteem
67 on a good day. 100 after something I've worked on has been finished.
Normally scraping the bottom of the barrel at the 24 mark

It depends what we're talking about. Probably like 95 in relation to my immense grasp of the English language, 2 for sense of balance, grace and singing ability, and anywhere between 20 and 40 for most other stuff.

Quick Question

i don't think this is worthy of a new thread, so i'll ask here :).
I am trying to stop(); a mc within MovieClip using a for loop. Here's what i have, ignore the loop parameters.

for(i=0;i<4;i++){
_root["mc"+i]["innerMc"+i].stop();
}

It says there's no syntax errors, but the code won't work. Anyone know how to do it?

Thanks in advance :).

Woah. That's an issue in itself. No idea if you're planning to do this, but it's trying to do the following...
Stop: _root.mc0.innerMC0
Stop: _root.mc1.innerMC1
Stop: _root.mc2.innerMC2
Stop: _root.mc3.innerMC3

No idea what the practical use of that is. Are you sure that's what you want, because otherwise you'll want to remove one of those +i's from the equations...

RE: Self-esteemotron 2000

I wonder what Glaiels self esteem rating is.
Anyway online mine is 200, and offline its probably 50 and its purposefully done, i like to be very behind the scenes and the quiet type, i find it embarassing to discuss my work in person, and i just like to be a face in a crowd.
This probably sounds a little strange coming from someone who barges in and locks everything like he owns the place. Thank goodness for e-fame.
