Have any of you payed it all by yourselves or are going to pay it all yourselves ?
I'm hoping to pay for half at least.
I paid all of it by myself.
I'm now 80k in debt and realize I'd still rather be doing my lifelong trade (carpentry) than my Major (Game Software Development) to put food on the table.
Think long and hard about what you really, really love, and don't be disillusioned by the greener grass on the other side, or the dollar signs.
I traded 14 hours a day of rat race and pressure for 8 stress free hours a day. It was a -30k/year decision that cost me 80k to learn.
As a frame of reference, I'll be paying that back for 30 years. I'll be 60 and probably retired before it's paid off.
Not trying to talk anyone out of college, but I feel my generation and the one directly after it (most of you) have been horribly pressured and duped into the assumed wealth and glory that college instantly creates just by graduating.
