JMTB, thats a great idea. I think you should make a thread about it pronto.

I'll make a thread once I get everything squared away, and I make an engine.

I like the idea Luis. The ideas would have to be more than just say a short loop to last as some sort of collab. Anyway, with stuff like this to much talking always brings it down, whatever if the plan, put it in action and get it rolling. No point hanging around when everyone is fair game; The grass is on the pitch, lets play.

say guys I'm making a silent movie style thing for english class and I found a neat combination of filters in flash that can make a clip look all 1920's style

Add blur, a small amount of blur (high quality), like 2 or 3 for the radius
Then add a color transform filter on top of the blur, cut out the saturation and increast the contrast

The effect looks very neat, try it out sometime

I actually like that old style, it suits some flash (depending on the style of art and what not) very well. And your advice is good, but what about the whole picture distortion of like the flicker of those black lines? Do you just make a movieclip and fbf some lines? Or do you or anyone else know of a certain way to perform that?

Whoa its me!

It's pretty easy and quick if you create a movie clip with 10-20 frames in it, then draw some lines with pencil tool on every frame, so it's FBF. "Stipple" style of a line looks good. That's how I do it.

Only when used incorrectly. Since applying a filter automatically caches a movieClip as a bitmap, it's possible for filters to be unnoticable. You just need to know when and how to use them.

Most sketch shows use the same gags over & over (i.e. Little Brittan). 4 does have some good comedies though (Spaced, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Man to Man with Dean Learner).

In a few years time, it'll be exactly the same time, but maybe the character will have a cap on..

some sketch shows are funny but chanel 4 fail at skethc shows, i'm geussing you were watching Blunder!? saw that last week, very it and miss, some sketches seemed liek poor rip offs :(

Yeah yeah I know. Most recent ones, all starring BBC rejects. That 'Blunder' program was just on, that's what spurred the above post. 'Star stories' is another example, although, I just watched the George Michael one and the Beckham one the other day, and did actually quite like them :).

Spaced hasn't been on for a while. Do you like Ideal on BBC3? I love it, but it's not on alot. Two Pints used to be good to, but the later series's were poor.

Is it because you're a raging alcoholic, who’s just finished his 4th bottle of Bourbon today, and therefore you're not to hot with the old typing game?

Not seen it. I don't get to watch too much TV these days, due to uni 'n all.
