Meomi is a great site, but it is a hybrid site. All the functionality of good CSS and HTML, packed with well done flash assets. At this point, I prefer this strategy, yet I still work on my fully Flash albatross. o_o
Just had a 30 second AIM chat with ReNaeNae, to clarify my doubts about this portal, it'll be pretty awesome if you ask me, but Tom is such a teasing bastard :<
Well, well...
Take a look at this
I swear that Dumping Grounds bit wasn't there before.
Q: What is File Storage?
A: File Storage, also called "Dumping Grounds," is mainly for users to share works-in-progress with their friends and collaborators. Upon upload, each file is given a random URL and linked only to the uploader's list of stored files. The only other people who have access to them are those who are given the URL for a particular file.
File Storage is not an image gallery. It was not designed for the purpose of showcasing art or photos, but so that users who are working on a project together can post their work for each other to view and download. Privacy is the main function of this feature.
Q: What kind of files can I store?
SInce it was designed mainly as a collaboration tool, the only file types allowed are .fla, .swf, .png, .gif, and .jpg. Whether you share these files with anyone else is up to you.
Yeah, I agree, what the fuck is this, Tom is going batshit insane with the upgrades!

Nice game, 5'd :)
I lasted 47 hrs, not sure if that was good or bad but the game was fun nonetheless.

Totally forgot to thank my beta-testers in the description, fixed that.
Thanks for the compliments guys :) The game sparked some hefty debate on Kong by the way. Some people put way too much thought in it, or misinterpret my intentions. I wonder how it will do on politically-incorect Newgrounds. Thankfully nothing beats a healthy discussion every now and then.

Lol, I think people overreacted a bit. But to be honest it would've been sensible to just check the date before you released a game with such potential for controversiality.

Well, the release date is not a coincidence. I didn't start working on it with the idea of releasing it on D-Day (I didn't start working on it thinking I was going to finish it at all). About mid-way through I decided it would be fitting in a way to release it on D-Day (plus yeah, it would probably get some extra attention). About 80% in it looked like I was going to miss the deadline, but I didn't care that much about it, I just wanted to release the game. Then I had a nice licensing offer, but the sponsor wanted to release the game on this day (D-Day game on D-Day = more money for them). So I worked my ass of the last 3 weeks to get things done in time (cut out a bunch of stuff too).
All in all I think it's a pretty respectful game, I didn't make this game with the intention of shocking people or anything. The German side/ideology is not favoured in the game. I'm interested to see what kind of reactions I'll get here on NG. So far it's all been good.

99 hours. What are the chances. -_-
Great game btw.
D-Day
I've been thinking about something in the same style but on a much larger scale, basically its WW3, you choose a country thats attacking/to attack and then you zoom in to a side on view of the battlefield, then you get tanks, troops etc to take that capital and you hold the country.
Anyway, great game, very easy to get into and very addictive once your in it, good graphics too which makes it even better. I'd continue making these, you'll keep getting interest.
Flixel
The competition and my time off make it a perfect time to finally try ditching flash and using FlashDevelop to do my work. It should get me started then i'll start making my own libraries. Anyone used flixel yet?
D day
Nice game fiven'd..What is d day ?
Also you can always had those features and make it better and release a sequel next year..
When speaking about flash sites it would be a sin not to bring up 2Advanced.
Even if it is indeed too advanced imo
I don't like your D day game. As a game its good, so good job on that, but I don't like turning such serious events into fun light hearted things. My opinion is certainly a minority one, and its not like I campaign against war games. I just dont feel happy playing it, so I dont. I definately dont think war games should be censored or anything, I just make my choice not to play them, and unless there was a big movement from war veterans against these games (which there is NOT) then I would never try to get any banned or something.
Anyone agree with me at all? I dont expect any one too :P. And to be clear again, you made a good game, and I dont think it should be banned or anything at all, Im just saying I dont feel comfortable playing it.
