i tried something along those lines in the Wi/Ht forum. i was trying to add the _blank HTML code to the link code to see if i could make a link open up in a new window.

also i'll throw up what zorse did on spamtheweb a little later. just cuz its so awesome. the thing thats bad though is that the thing that makes it mainly awesome is the part you can't see. it's all the background coding that made it easily editable and stuff.

Why was the Hannah Montana Movie surprisingly brilliant???

I went to see it as a joke but know it's one of my favourite films.

That's not bad, but I long back for when the scores weren't so inflated. Anything less than a daily first with 4.19 would be quite unlikely about two years ago.

Btw, P-bot does have a habit of breaking every now and then, this one was quite odd though. It seems as if the last two day's submissions are listed there, although luckily the awards are correct.

Stages 1 through 3 complete.

My C++ program now takes a swf, decompresses it, processes the tags to find the tags containing the bytecode, processes those tags to grab all the info, then outputs the bytecode resolving names and structured according to relations between traits of method bodies etc etc, and then compiles a new swf on all that data.

Stage 4: allow the program to modify bytecode
Stage 6: combine it with flash API to allow for inline bytecode in AS3
Stage 7: allow for operations in AS3 for my program to inline entire methods of AS3 code
Stage 8: perform bytecode level optimisations on swf
Stage 9: KILL ALL HUMANS

I noticed the exact same thing. It's a shame because I think I should be on the 3rd spot there...

So you are making your own flash basically? I wouldn't even know where to start. Good experiment though, is it faster than flash atm?

I've seen flash pass today and yesterday with 3.00+ that wouldn't have scored greater than 0.90 back in 2006 and would have been blammed instantly, it seems there's no actual boundary for quality work anymore, if it's good it scores 4.20+ if it's bad it scores 3+, there's hardly any flash that only just pass, it seems that people are just voting 5 for the protection points.

Long time no see :). I agree with you about it being easier to get through now than it has been, most good games now get a score of 4.20+ rather than just the great ones.

no no, my thing would be used to re-compile any swf's from flash/flex to allow you to have inline bytecode and methods, you still need something to make the flash in the first place, although with the parts of the swf i'm processing i could make a swf from nothing as long as it didn't need any graphics or sound beyond API, but it'd be silly to write the entire code in bytecode

Slipping Standards

My very first flash which I attempted to submit to the portal back in '06 got blammed, it wasn't good enough to get through, and I know it shouldn't have got through.
But I wanted to test this theory of NGs slipping standards, so I resubmitted it.
It got a 2.3! That's not even meant to be a bad score - crazy :s
