CN Dying
For the most part I don't think television channels really die. I'm fairly sure you just left their demographic. For example, people growing up on Cartoon Network right now are going to be all nostalgic for... whatever is on Cartoon Network. Meanwhile I'm fairly nostalgic on Hey Dude and Salute Your Shorts, which I look back on now as fairly terrible shows, but it's something I was part of.
I'm sure people who were just moving out of the Nickelodeon era while I was moving in were like, "Damn, Nick is dying."
Hi there!

"Cartoon Network, now without the cartoons"
Aha well CN here at like 3 in the morning have something called "Cartoon Cartoons" which has Dexters Lab, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Ren and Stimpy and Rockos Modern Life.

Let me explain better: It would need some sort of software/mini OS to run files of specific formats stored on an external USB drive connected through the USB port and display those files on a TV.

Instructables has been running realllly slowly for the last few days and stuff doesn't load until you've refreshed 100 times. But from what I managed to search it looks like it might have something similar to what you're trying to do.
Ooo $25k. http://www.javafx.com/challenge/
The platform itself is horrid but it's probably worth entering for the money. Anyone got ideas for an 'innovative RIA'?
Cartoon Network
They should have cartoons like adventure time. I actually heard a rumour they were going to make a series out of it. Maybe not then...

We still have Boomerang, that's where I get my weekly dose of Dexter's Lab.

Dude, that videos been on my userpage since September. It was initially made to air on Nickelodeon, but when they saw how ridiculous the video was, they canceled it. I really love that video though, it's genius. It kind of reminded me of "Rejected," by Don Hertzfeldt.

I looked through that site's stuff already. It's mostly just using the controller as a usb storage device by putting a small usb device inside of it. Nothing I could find that really relates to what I'm wanting. I'm more looking for tech like the plug n play controller things you see in the mall that have 50 games on them and you just plug them into the av jacks on your tv, but I want to make it so you can edit the files stored in the controller.

Stolen from this genius (http://lab.andre-michelle.com/), i'm gonna report it once i'm sure. Just read his profile, it convinces me that he took it.

Bzzt, I've never understood why people steal stuff. I mean, what do you get out of it except for someone else's recognition?

That sounds off though, I'll agree with that.
Do you guys get Boomerang though? That's where I get all my Penelope Pitstop now.

Can't be arsed to write so in a 'review' but to prove that he did stole it and did not 'base it on' André's tool I decided to decompile it using Flare.
He had protected the source code, or Flare can't process Flash Player 10 code. Whatever the case, it's metadata was still present and part of it looked like this:
<dc:title>Hobnox AudioTool</dc:title>
<dc:description>http://www.hobnox.com/audiotool</dc:description>
<dc:publisher>Hobnox</dc:publisher>
<dc:creator>Joa Ebert, Philipp Granzin, Andre Michelle, Kai-Philipp Schoellmann, Andre Stubbe, Alan Ross</dc:creator>
Now why would this guy put that in there if he really did the application?
BAM!

I have the best idea but I will keep it for my ears only.
I didn't even know JavaFX was released yet. It was supposed the be better than the old applet iirc. Is it?

That's a coincidence, I linked to the source of that a couple of pages back.
The worst part is that here in Argentina, Boomerang is like Disney but only with shows like Wizards of Weverly Place and Hannah Montana, so I am preety much screwed
